1 Uye akati kwavari, “Ndinokuudzai chokwadi, kuti vamwe vamire pano havazoraviri rufu vasati vaona umambo hwaMwari huchisvika nesimba.”
He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see God’s Kingdom come with power.”
2 Shure kwamazuva matanhatu, Jesu akatora Petro, Jakobho naJohani akavatungamirira kugomo refu, kwavakanga vari voga. Akashanduka ikoko pamberi pavo.
After six days Yeshua [Salvation] took with him Peter [Rock], James [Surplanter], and John [Yah is gracious], and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.
3 Nguo dzake dzakapenya, dzikachena kupfuura zvingacheneswa nomunhu upi zvake munyika muno.
His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
4 Uye ipapo pakaonekwa pamberi pavo Eria naMozisi, uye vakanga vachitaurirana naJesu.
Elijah [My God Yah] and Moses [Drawn out] appeared to them, and they were talking with Yeshua [Salvation].
5 Petro akati kuna Jesu, “Rabhi, zvakanaka kuti isu tigare pano. Ngativakei matumba matatu, rimwe renyu, rimwe raMozisi uye rimwe raEria.”
Peter [Rock] answered Yeshua [Salvation], “Rabbi ·Teacher·, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses [Drawn out], and one for Elijah [My God Yah].”
6 Akashaya zvokutaura, nokuti vakanga votya zvikuru.
For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.
7 Ipapo gore rakaonekwa rikavafukidza, uye inzwi rakabuda mugore rikati, “Uyu ndiye Mwanakomana wangu, wandinoda. Munzwei!”
A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my agapetos ·beloved, esteemed· Son. Listen to him.”
8 Pakarepo, vakatarisa kwose kwose, uye havana kuzoona munhu aripo navo kunze kwaJesu.
Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Yeshua [Salvation] only.
9 Pavakanga vava kuburuka mugomo, Jesu akavarayira kuti varege kutaurira kana munhu upi zvake zvavakanga vaona kusvikira Mwanakomana woMunhu amuka kubva kuvakafa.
As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10 Vakachengeta shoko iri pakati pavo, vachikurukurirana pamusoro pokuti, “kumuka kwavakafa” kunorevei.
They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.
11 Uye vakamubvunza vakati, “Seiko vadzidzisi vomurayiro vachiti Eria anofanira kutanga kuuya?”
They asked him, saying, “Why do the Torah-Teachers say that Elijah [My God Yah] must come first?”
12 Jesu akapindura akati, “Kutaura chokwadi, Eria anofanira kutanga kuuya, uye agovandudza zvinhu zvose. Zvino kwakanyorerwei kuchinzi Mwanakomana woMunhu anofanira kutambudzika zvikuru uye agorambwa?
He said to them, “Elijah [My God Yah] indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?
13 Asi ndinoti kwamuri, Eria akauya, uye vakaita kwaari zvinhu zvose zvavaida, sezvazvakanyorwa pamusoro pake.”
But I tell you that Elijah [My God Yah] has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”
14 Vakati vasvika kuna vamwe vadzidzi, vakaona vanhu vazhinji zhinji vakavakomberedza uye vadzidzisi vomurayiro vachiita nharo navo.
Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and Torah-Teachers questioning them.
15 Vanhu vose pavakangoona Jesu, vakashamiswa zvikuru uye vakamhanya kundomukwazisa.
Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.
16 Akati, “Muri kuvabvunzeiko?”
He asked the Torah-Teachers, “What are you asking them?”
17 Mumwe murume aiva pakati pavanhu vazhinji akapindura akati, “Mudzidzisi, ndauya kwamuri nomwanakomana wangu, akabatwa nomweya wakamupa umbeveve.
One of the multitude answered, “Rabbi ·Teacher·, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;
18 Pose pose paunomubata, unomukanda pasi. Anopupuma furo pamuromo, worumanisa meno ake uye anobva aoma. Ndakumbira vadzidzi venyu kuti vaudzinge asi havana kugona kuzviita.”
and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”
19 Jesu akati, “Haiwa rudzi rusingatendi, ndichagara nemi kusvikira riniko? Ndichakuitirai mwoyo murefu kusvikira riniko? Uyai nomukomana kwandiri.”
He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 Saka vakauya naye. Mweya wakati uchiona Jesu, pakarepo wakawisira mukomana pasi ukamubvundisa. Akawira pasi akaumburuka, achipupuma furo pamuromo.
They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.
21 Jesu akabvunza baba vomukomana akati, “Ane nguva yakadii achiita izvi?” Vakapindura vakati, “Kubva pauduku hwake.
He asked 'Aviv [his father], “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.
22 Kazhinji unosimuwisira mumoto kana mumvura kuti umuuraye. Asi kana muchigona kuita chinhu, tinzwirei tsitsi mutibatsire.”
Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”
23 Jesu akati, “Kana muchigona? Zvinhu zvose zvinogoneka kune anotenda.”
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “If you can trust, all things are possible to him who trusts.”
24 Pakarepo baba vomukomana vakadanidzira vachiti, “Ndinotenda; ndibatsirei pakusatenda kwangu!”
Immediately the Abba father of the child cried out with tears, “I trust. Help my unbelief!”
25 Jesu akati aona kuti vanhu vazhinji vakanga vomhanyira panzvimbo iyo, akarayira mweya wakaipa akati, “Iwe mweya woumatsi nomweya woumbeveve, ndinokurayira, buda maari, uye usazopindazve maari.”
When Yeshua [Salvation] saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”
26 Mweya wakadanidzira, ukamubvundisa zvikuru uye ukabuda. Mukomana akaita sokunge chitunha zvokuti vazhinji vakati, “Afa.”
Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”
27 Asi Jesu akamubata noruoko akamumisa netsoka dzake, uye akakwanisa kumira.
But Yeshua [Salvation] took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
28 Mushure mokunge Jesu apinda mumba, vadzidzi vake vakamubvunza vari voga vachiti, “Seiko isu takakundikana kuudzinga?”
When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”
29 Akapindura achiti, “Rudzi urwu runongobva chete nokunyengetera nokutsanya.”
He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”
30 Vakabva panzvimbo iyoyo vakapfuura nomuGarirea. Jesu akanga asingadi kuti zvizivikanwe nomunhu kuti vaiva kupi,
They went out from there, and passed through Galilee [District, Circuit]. He didn’t want anyone to know it.
31 nokuti akanga achidzidzisa vadzidzi vake. Akati kwavari, “Mwanakomana woMunhu achazopandukirwa achiiswa mumaoko avanhu. Vachamuuraya, uye shure kwamazuva matatu achamuka.”
For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”
32 Asi havana kunzwisisa zvaakanga achireva uye vakanga vachitya kumubvunza pamusoro pazvo.
But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 Vakasvika kuKapenaume. Paakanga ari mumba, akavabvunza akati, “Manga muchikakavadzana pamusoro peiko munzira?”
He came to Capernaum [Village-Comfort, Village-Compassion], and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”
34 Asi vakanyarara nokuti vakanga vakakavadzana vari munzira pamusoro pokuti mukuru ndiani.
But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.
35 Agara pasi, Jesu akadana vane gumi navaviri akati, “Kana munhu achida kuva wokutanga, anofanira kuva iye wokupedzisira, uye muranda wavose.”
He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”
36 Akatora mwana muduku akamumisa pakati pavo. Akamubata mumaoko ake, akati kwavari,
He took a little child, and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,
37 “Ani naani anogamuchira mumwe wavaduku ava muzita rangu anogamuchira ini; uye ani naani anondigamuchira haagamuchiri ini asi iye akandituma.”
“Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, does not receive me, but him who sent me.”
38 Johani akati, “Mudzidzisi, taona munhu achidzinga madhimoni muzita renyu tikamudzivisa, nokuti anga asiri mumwe wedu.”
John [Yah is gracious] said to him, “Rabbi ·Teacher·, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he does not follow us.”
39 Jesu akati, “Musamudzivisa. Hakuna munhu anoita chishamiso muzita rangu angazotaura zvakaipa pamusoro pangu mushure maizvozvo,
But Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.
40 nokuti ani naani asingarwisani nesu ndowedu.
For whoever is not against us is on our side.
41 Ndinokuudzai chokwadi, ani naani anokupai mukombe wemvura muzita rangu nokuda kwokuti muri vaKristu zvirokwazvo haangazorasikirwi nomubayiro wake.
For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Messiah [Anointed one]’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.
42 “Uye kana ani naani akaita kuti mumwe wavaduku ava vanotenda kwandiri atadze, zvingava nani kwaari kuti akandwe mugungwa akasungirirwa guyo guru mumutsipa make.
Whoever will cause one of these little ones who trust in me to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.
43 Kana ruoko rwako ruchikuita kuti utadze, rugure. Zviri nani kwauri kuti upinde muupenyu uri chirema pano kuti upinde mugehena namaoko maviri, uko kune moto usingadzimwi, (Geenna g1067)
If your hand causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead), into the unquenchable fire, (Geenna g1067)
44 umo musingafi honye dzavo uye moto usingadzimwi.
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
45 Uye kana rutsoka rwako ruchiita kuti utadze, rugure. Zviri nani kwauri kupinda muupenyu uri chirema pano kupinda mugehena namakumbo maviri, (Geenna g1067)
If your foot causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead), into the fire that will never be quenched— (Geenna g1067)
46 umo musingafi honye dzavo uye moto usingadzimwi.
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
47 Uye kana ziso rako richiita kuti utadze, ribvise. Zviri nani kwauri kuti upinde muumambo hwaMwari neziso rimwe chete pano kuti uve namaziso maviri uye ugokandwa kugehena, (Geenna g1067)
If your eye causes you to be scandalized ·to entrap, to cause weak knees that waiver, stumbling block that causes falling, distrusting one that should be trusted and obeyed, disapproving of authority, to judge unfavorably causing displeasure, indignant·, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into God’s Kingdom with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead) of fire, (Geenna g1067)
48 uko “‘kusingafi honye dzavo uye moto wacho usingadzimwi.’
‘where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
49 Munhu wose acharungwa nomoto.
For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
50 “Munyu wakanaka, asi kana warasa kuvava kwawo, mungauita kuti urungezve here? Ivai nomunyu mukati menyu, uye muve norugare pakati penyu.”
Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
