1 Vakayambuka mhiri kwegungwa kunyika yavaGerase.
And they came to the other side of the sea, into the territory of the Gerasenes.
2 Jesu akati abuda mugwa, mumwe murume akanga ano mweya wakaipa akauya achibva kumakuva kuti azosangana naye.
And when he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs.
3 Murume uyu aigara kumakuva, uye kwakanga kusisina munhu aigona kumusungazve, kunyange kana nengetani.
He lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain.
4 Nokuti kazhinji aisungwa maoko namakumbo, asi aidambura ngetani napakati uye achivhuna simbi dzaiva pamakumbo ake. Hakuna munhu aiva nesimba rokumukunda.
For he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him.
5 Usiku namasikati aingochema uye achizvicheka-cheka namabwe ari pakati pamakuva uye nomuzvikomo.
And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.
6 Akati aona Jesu achiri chinhambwe, akamhanya akandowira namabvi ake mberi kwake.
And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,
7 Akadanidzira nenzwi riri pamusoro achiti, “Munodeiko kwandiri, Jesu, Mwanakomana waMwari Wokumusoro-soro? Pikai kuna Mwari kuti hamuzonditambudzi!”
and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."
8 Nokuti Jesu akanga ati kwaari, “Buda mumunhu uyu, iwe mweya wakaipa!”
For he had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit."
9 Ipapo Jesu akamubvunza akati, “Zita rako ndiwe ani?” Akapindura akati, “Zita rangu ndiRegioni, nokuti tiri vazhinji.”
And then he asked him, "What is your name?" And he replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
10 Uye akakumbira akumbirazve kuna Jesu kuti arege kuidzinga kubva munyika iyo.
And he pleaded with Jesus repeatedly not to send them away out of the region.
11 Boka guru renguruve raifura riri pazvikomo zvaiva pedyo nenzvimbo iyi.
Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.
12 Madhimoni akakumbirisa kuna Jesu akati, “Titumei henyu pakati penguruve, titenderei henyu kuti tinopinda madziri.”
And they begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."
13 Akaatendera, uye mweya yakaipa yakabuda ikaenda ikandopinda munguruve. Boka rinenge zviuru zviviri pakuwanda, rakamhanya richiburukira kumawere rikapinda mugungwa uye rikanyuramo.
And he gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs; and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.
14 Vaya vakanga vachifudza nguruve vakatiza vakandozivisa izvi muguta nomumaruwa, uye vanhu vakabuda kuti vandoona zvakanga zvaitika.
And those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went to see what it was that had happened.
15 Vakati vasvika kuna Jesu, vakaona murume uya akanga akabatwa neRegioni ramadhimoni, agere ipapo, akapfeka uye ava munhu kwaye; uye vakatya.
And they came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.
16 Vaya vakanga vazviona vakavaudza zvakanga zvaitika kumunhu akanga ambobatwa namadhimoni, uye vakataura nezvenguruvewo.
And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.
17 Ipapo vanhu vakatanga kukumbira Jesu kuti abve munyika yavo.
And then they began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
18 Jesu paakanga opinda mugwa, munhu akanga akabatwa namadhimoni akakumbira zvikuru kuti aende naye.
As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons pleaded with him that he might be with him.
19 Jesu haana kumutendera, asi akati kwaari, “Chienda kumba kumhuri yako undovaudza zvawaitirwa naShe, uye kuti akunzwira ngoni sei.”
However, Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your own, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you."
20 Saka murume uyu akabva akaenda uye akatanga kutaura muDhekapori zvinhu zvikuru zvaakanga aitirwa naJesu. Uye vanhu vose vakashamiswa.
So he went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone was amazed.
21 Jesu akati ayambukazve mhiri negwa kuno rumwe rutivi rwegungwa, vazhinji zhinji vakaungana vakamukomberedza paakanga ari pagungwa.
And when Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a large crowd was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
22 Ipapo mumwe wavabati vomusinagoge, ainzi Jairosi, akasvikapo. Paakaona Jesu akawira patsoka dzake
One of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
23 uye akamukumbirisa zvikuru achiti, “Mwanasikana wangu mudiki ava kufa. Ndapota uyai muise maoko enyu pamusoro pake kuti agoporeswa uye ararame.”
and pleaded with him repeatedly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live."
24 Saka Jesu akaenda naye. Vazhinji zhinji vakatevera vachimanikidzirana.
And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.
25 Uye pakanga pano mukadzi aiva nechirwere chokubuda ropa kwamakore gumi namaviri.
Now a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,
26 Akanga atambudzika zvikuru uye achirapwa navanachiremba vazhinji uye akanga apedza zvose zvaaiva nazvo, asi pachinzvimbo chokuva nani akatonyanyisa kurwara.
and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,
27 Akati anzwa nezvaJesu, akauya mushure make mukati mavazhinji uye akabata nguo yake,
having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.
28 nokuti akati mumwoyo make, “Kana ndikangobata nguo dzake, ndichaporeswa.”
For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well."
29 Pakarepo tsime reropa rake rakapwa uye akanzwa mumuviri wake kuti akanga asunungurwa kubva pakutambudzika kwake.
And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.
30 Pakarepo Jesu akanzwa kuti simba rakanga rabuda maari. Akatendeukira kuruzhinji rwavanhu akabvunza achiti, “Ndianiko abata nguo dzangu?”
And immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
31 Vadzidzi vake vakati, “Muri kuona vanhu vachikutsimbirirai, zvino moti, ‘Ndianiko andibata?’”
And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"
32 Asi Jesu akaramba achitarisa-tarisa kuti aone kuti ndiani akanga aita izvozvo.
He looked around to see her who had done this thing.
33 Ipapo mukadzi, achiziva zvakanga zvaitika kwaari, akauya akawira patsoka dzake, uye achidedera nokutya, akamuudza chokwadi chose.
But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.
34 Iye akati kwaari, “Mwanasikana, kutenda kwako kwakuporesa. Enda norugare uye usunungurwe pakutambudzika kwako.”
And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."
35 Jesu achiri kutaura, vamwe varume vakauya vachibva kumba kwaJairosi, mukuru wesinagoge. Vakati, “Mwanasikana wenyu afa. Muchanetsereiko mudzidzisi?”
While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?"
36 Asina hanya nezvavakanga vataura, Jesu akati kumukuru wesinagoge, “Usatya; tenda bedzi.”
But Jesus, overhearing the message spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe."
37 Haana kutendera mumwe munhu kuti amutevere kunze kwaPetro, Jakobho naJohani mununʼuna waJakobho.
And he allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
38 Vakati vasvika pamba pomukuru wesinagoge, Jesu akanzwa mheremhere, vanhu vachichema nokuungudza zvikuru.
And they came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.
39 Akapinda akati kwavari, “Ko, mheremhere ndeyeiko nokuungudza uku? Mwana haana kufa asi avete.”
And when he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep."
40 Asi vakamuseka. Mushure mokunge avabudisa vose panze, akatora baba namai vomwana navadzidzi vaakanga anavo, akapinda makanga muno mwana.
And they ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.
41 Akamubata noruoko akati kwaari, “Tarita kumi!” (zvichireva kuti, “Musikana, ndinoti kwauri, muka!”)
And taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum," which translated means, "Little girl, I tell you, get up."
42 Pakarepo musikana akasimuka akafamba-famba (akanga ana makore gumi namaviri okuberekwa). Nokuda kwaizvozvi, vakashamiswa zvikuru.
And immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were overcome with amazement.
43 Akarayira nokurayira kukuru kuti parege kuva nomunhu anoziva nezvazvo, uye akavaudza kuti vamupe zvokudya.
And he strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.
