1 Rimwe Sabata Jesu akanga achifamba nomuminda yezviyo, uye vadzidzi vake vakatanga kunonga hura dzezviyo, vachidzipukuta mumaoko avo vachidya tsanga dzacho.
And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he was going through grain-fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of grain, and ate them, rubbing them with their hands.
2 Vamwe vavaFarisi vakati, “Seiko muchiita zvisingatenderwi nomusi weSabata?”
And some of the Pharisees said, Why are ye doing that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath?
3 Jesu akavapindura akati, “Hamuna kumboverenga here zvakaitwa naDhavhidhi paakanga ava nenzara, iye neshamwari dzake?
And Jesus answering them, said, Have ye not even read what David did, when he was himself hungry, and they who were with him?
4 Akapinda mumba maMwari, akatora chingwa chakatsaurwa, akadya zvaingobvumirwa kudyiwa navaprista chete. Uye akapawo chimwe kushamwari dzake.”
how he went into the house of God, and took and ate the show-bread, and gave it also to those who were with him, which it is not lawful for any to eat but the priests alone?
5 Ipapo akati kwavari, “Mwanakomana woMunhu ndiye Ishe weSabata.”
And he said to them, The Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
6 Rimwezve Sabata akapinda musinagoge uye aidzidzisa, zvino pakanga pano murume akanga ano ruoko rwake rworudyi rwakanga rwakakokonyara.
And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue, and taught; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
7 VaFarisi navadzidzisi vomurayiro vakanga vachitsvaka mhosva yokupomera Jesu, saka vakamutarisisa kuti vaone kana aizoporesa nomusi weSabata.
And the scribes and the Pharisees were watching whether he would heal on the sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
8 Asi Jesu aiziva zvavaifunga uye akati kumurume akanga ano ruoko rwakakokonyara, “Simuka umire pamberi pavanhu vose.” Saka iye akasimuka akamira ipapo.
But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man having the withered hand, Rise, and stand up in the midst. And he arose, and stood up.
9 Ipapo Jesu akati kwavari, “Ndinokubvunzaiwo kuti chiiko chinobvumirwa kuitwa nomusi weSabata: kuita zvakanaka kana kuita zvakaipa, kuponesa upenyu kana kuhuparadza?”
And Jesus said to them, I ask you whether it is lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kill?
10 Akatarisa kwavari vose, ndokuti kumunhu uya, “Tambanudza ruoko rwako.” Iye akaita saizvozvo, uye ruoko rwake rukatwasanuka.
And looking round on them all, he said to him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored.
11 Asi ivo vakatsamwa kwazvo vakatanga kutaurirana zvavangaita kuna Jesu.
But they were filled with madness, and conferred with one another as to what they should do to Jesus.
12 Nerimwe ramazuva iwayo, Jesu akabuda akaenda kugomo kuti andonyengetera, uye akapedza usiku hwose achinyengetera kuna Mwari.
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Fume mangwana, akadana vadzidzi vake akasarudza gumi navaviri pakati pavo, avo vaakatumidza kuti vapostori:
And when it was day, he called to him his disciples; and he chose from them twelve, whom he also named apostles;
14 Simoni (uyo waakatumidza kuti Petro), mununʼuna wake Andirea, Jakobho, Johani, Firipi, Bhatoromeo,
Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Mateo, Tomasi, Jakobho mwanakomana waArifeasi, Simoni ainzi muZeroti,
and Matthew and Thomas, and James the Son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the zealot,
16 Judhasi mwanakomana waJakobho, naJudhasi Iskarioti, uyo akazova mupanduki.
and Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
17 Akaburuka navo akandomira panzvimbo yakanga yakaenzana. Ungano huru yavadzidzi vake yakanga iripo uye navanhu vazhinji vaibva muJudhea yose, vaibva kuJerusarema, uye navaibva kumuganhu weTire neSidhoni,
And he came down with them, and stood on a level place with a great multitude of his disciples, and a great crowd of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem and the sea-coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases.
18 vakanga vauya kuzomunzwa uyewo kuti vazoporeswa pazvirwere zvavo. Vaya vakanga vachimanikidzwa nemweya yakaipa vakaporeswa,
And they that were harassed with unclean spirits were cured.
19 uye vanhu vose vakaedza kumubata, nokuti simba rakanga richibuda maari richivaporesa vose.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him, because power went out of him and healed all.
20 Akatarira kuvadzidzi vake, akati: “Makaropafadzwa imi varombo, nokuti umambo hwaMwari ndohwenyu.
And raising his eyes toward his disciples, he said, Blessed are ye poor; for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Makaropafadzwa imi vane nzara zvino, nokuti muchaguta. Makaropafadzwa imi munochema zvino, nokuti muchaseka.
Blessed are ye that hunger now; for ye will be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now; for ye will laugh.
22 Makaropafadzwa imi kana vanhu vachikuvengai, vachikutsaurai uye vachikutukai, vachiramba zita renyu vachiti rakaipa, nokuda kwoMwanakomana woMunhu.
Blessed are ye when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man.
23 “Farai pazuva iro uye mupembere nomufaro, nokuti mubayiro wenyu mukuru kudenga. Ndiwo matambudzirwo akaitwa vaprofita namadzibaba avo.
Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy; for lo! your reward is great in heaven; for thus their fathers did to the prophets.
24 “Asi mune nhamo imi vapfumi, nokuti makatowana kunyaradzwa kwenyu kare.
But woe to you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Mune nhamo imi makaguta zvino, nokuti muchanzwa nzara. Mune nhamo imi vanoseka zvino, nokuti muchaungudza uye muchachema.
Woe to you that are full now! for ye will hunger. Woe to you that laugh now! for ye will mourn and weep.
26 Mune nhamo imi kana vanhu vose vachitaura zvakanaka pamusoro penyu, nokuti madzibaba avo akaitira vaprofita venhema zvakadaro.
Woe, when all men speak well of you! for so did their fathers of the false prophets.
27 “Asi ndinokuudzai imi munondinzwa kuti: Idai vavengi venyu, itai zvakanaka kuna avo vanokuvengai,
But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you;
28 ropafadzai vanokutukai, nyengetererai vaya vanokunetsai.
bless those who curse you; pray for those who are spiteful to you.
29 Kana mumwe akakurova rimwe dama, mupezve rimwe racho. Kana mumwe akakutorera nguo yako yokunze, usamudzivisa kutorawo nguo yomukati.
To him that smiteth thee on one cheek, offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak, forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Upe vose vanokukumbira, uye kana ani zvake akatora chinhu chako, usagombedzera kuti chidzoke.
Give to every one that asketh of thee; and from him that taketh away thy goods, demand them not again.
31 Itira vamwe zvaunoda kuti vakuitirewo iwe.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also in like manner to them.
32 “Kana uchida vaya vanokuda, mubayiro wako uchagova weiko? Kunyange navatadzi vanoda avo vanovada.
And if ye love those who love you, what thanks do ye deserve? for sinners also love those who love them.
33 Uye kana uchiita zvakanaka kuna vaya vakanaka kwauri, mubayiro wako uchagova weiko? Kunyange vatadzi vanoita izvozvo.
For if ye do good to those who do good to you, what thanks do ye deserve? even sinners do the same.
34 Uye kana uchikweretesa kuna vaya vaunotarisira kuti vagodzora, mubayiro wako uchagova weiko? Kunyange vatadzi vanokweretesa kuvatadzi, vachitarisira kuzodzoserwa zvakakwana.
And if ye lend to those from whom ye expect to receive, what thanks do ye deserve? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much in return.
35 Asi idai vavengi venyu, muite zvakanaka kwavari, uye muvakweretese musingatarisiri kuwana kana chinhuzve. Ipapo mubayiro wenyu uchava mukuru, uye muchava vanakomana veWokumusoro-soro, nokuti iye ano mwoyo munyoro kuna vasingavongi navakaipa.
But love your enemies, and do good and lend, despairing of no one; and your reward will be great, and ye will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the unthankful and wicked.
36 Ivai netsitsi sababa venyu vane tsitsi.
Be merciful, as your Father is merciful.
37 “Musatonga, uye nemi hamuzotongwi. Musapa mhosva, uye nemi hamuzopiwi mhosva. Regererai, uye nemi muchazoregererwawo.
And judge not, and ye will not be judged; and condemn not, and ye will not be condemned; forgive, and ye will be forgiven;
38 Ipai, uye nemi muchapiwa. Muchapiwa mumaoko enyu chiyero chakanaka, chakatsindirwa, chakazunguzirwa uye chinopfachukira. Nokuti nechiyero chamunoyera nacho, muchayererwawo nacho.”
give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will men give into your bosom; for with what measure ye mete, it will be measured to you in return.
39 Akavaudzawo mufananidzo uyu: “Bofu ringatungamirira bofu here? Havangawiri mugomba vose vari vaviri here?
And he spoke also a parable to them: Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a ditch?
40 Mudzidzi haapfuuri mudzidzisi wake, asi munhu wose anenge adzidziswa zvakakwana ndiye achaita somudzidzisi wake.
A disciple is not above his teacher; but every one when fully instructed will be as his teacher.
41 “Seiko uchitarisa rubanzu rwuri muziso rehama yako, asi usingatariri danda riri muziso rako pachako?
And why dost thou look at the mote in thy brother's eye, and not perceive the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Ungareva seiko kuhama yako uchiti, ‘Hama, rega ndikubvise rubanzu rwuri muziso rako, asi, iwe pachako uchitadza kuona danda riri muziso rako?’ Iwe munyengeri, tanga wabvisa danda muziso rako, ipapo uchaonesesa kuti ubvise rubanzu muziso rehama yako.
How canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me take out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself perceivest not the beam in thine own eye? Hypocrite! first cast the beam out of thine own eye, and then thou wilt see clearly to take out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
43 “Hakuna muti wakanaka unobereka muchero wakaipa, uye muti wakaipa haungabereki muchero wakanaka.
For there is no good tree that beareth bad fruit; and again, there is no bad tree that beareth good fruit.
44 Muti mumwe nomumwe unozivikanwa nomuchero wawo. Vanhu havangatanhi maonde kubva mumakwenzi eminzwa, kana kutanha mazambiringa kubva parukato.
For every tree is known by its own fruit; for from thorns men do not gather figs, nor from a bramble-bush do they gather grapes.
45 Munhu akanaka anobudisa zvinhu zvakanaka zvakachengetwa mumwoyo make.
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil; for out of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaketh.
46 “Sei muchiti, ‘Ishe, Ishe,’ kwandiri asi musingaiti zvandinoreva?
But why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Ndichakuratidzai zvakaita munhu anouya kwandiri anonzwa mashoko angu uye achiaita.
Every one that cometh to me and heareth my sayings and doeth them, I will show you whom he is like.
48 Akaita somunhu anovaka imba, akachera zvakadzika akavaka hwaro paruware. Mafashamu akati asvika, mafungu akarova imba iyo asi haana kugona kuizungunutsa, nokuti yakanga yakavakwa zvakanaka.
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid its foundation on a rock; and when a flood arose, the stream dashed against that house, and could not shake it; because it was well built.
49 Asi munhu anonzwa mashoko angu akasaaita, akafanana nomunhu akavaka imba pavhu asina kuchera hwaro. Mafungu paakangorova imba iyo, yakakoromoka uye kuparara kwayo kwakava kukuru.”
But he that heareth and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream dashed, and it fell at once, and the ruin of that house was great.
