< Johani 6 >

1 Shure kwaizvozvi, Jesu akayambuka akaenda mhiri kumahombekombe eGungwa reGarirea (ndiro Gungwa reTibheriasi),
After this Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias).
2 uye vazhinji zhinji vakamutevera nokuti vakanga vaona zviratidzo zvaakanga aita pavarwere.
A large crowd was following him because they saw the miraculous signs he was performing on the sick.
3 Ipapo Jesu akakwira pagomo akagara pasi navadzidzi vake.
So Jesus went up on the mountain and sat there with his disciples.
4 Mutambo wavaJudha wePasika wakanga wava pedyo.
(Now the Jewish feast of the Passover was near.)
5 Jesu akati asimudza meso ake akaona vanhu vazhinji zhinji vachiuya kwaari, akati kuna Firipi, “Tichatenga chingwa kupiko chokuti vanhu ava vadye?”
When Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread so that these people may eat?”
6 Akabvunza izvi achida chete kumuedza, nokuti akanga atoziva kare mupfungwa dzake zvaakanga achizoita.
(He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he was about to do.)
7 Firipi akamupindura akati, “Mubayiro unoshandirwa kwemwedzi misere haugoni kutenga chingwa chinokwana mumwe nomumwe hake, kuti awane chimedu!”
Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be sufficient for each of them to receive a little portion.”
8 Mumwe wavadzidzi vake, Andirea, mununʼuna waPetro, akati,
Then one of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him,
9 “Houno mukomana ane zvingwa zviduku zvebhari nehove mbiri, asi zvingasvikepiko pakati pavanhu vakawanda zvakadai?”
“There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good are they for so many people?”
10 Jesu akati, “Itai kuti vanhu vagare pasi.” Panzvimbo iyo pakanga pano uswa huzhinji kwazvo, uye varume vakagara pasi vakanga vachikarosvika zviuru zvishanu.
Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” (Now there was a lot of grass in that place.) So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.
11 Ipapo Jesu akatora zvingwa zviya, akavonga, uye akazvigovera kuna vaya vakanga vagara pasi mumwe nomumwe paaida napo. Akaita zvimwe chetezvo nehove.
Then Jesus took the loaves, and after giving thanks, he distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples distributed them to those who were seated. He did the same with the fish, and the people ate as much as they wanted.
12 Vakati vadya vose, akati kuvadzidzi vake, “Unganidzai zvimedu zvose zvasara. Musarega zvichiraswa.”
When they were full, Jesus said to his disciples, “Gather together the pieces that are left over so that nothing is wasted.”
13 Saka vakazviunganidza zvikazara matengu gumi namaviri nezvimedu zvezvingwa zvebhari zvishanu, zvakanga zvasiyiwa navaya vakanga vadya.
So they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the broken pieces from the five barley loaves that were left over by those who had eaten.
14 Vanhu vakati vaona chiratidzo chakanga chaitwa naJesu, vakatanga kuti, “Zvirokwazvo uyu ndiye muprofita aifanira kuuya panyika.”
When the people saw the sign that Jesus had done, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
15 Jesu, akaziva kuti vaida kumumanikidza kuti vamuite mambo, akabvazve, akaenda kugomo ari oga.
So Jesus, knowing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew to the mountain by himself.
16 Nguva yamadekwana yakati yasvika, vadzidzi vake vakaburuka vakaenda kugungwa,
When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
17 uko kwavakandopinda mugwa vakasimuka vakayambuka vakaenda mhiri kwegungwa vakananga kuKapenaume. Zvino kwakanga kwasviba, uye Jesu akanga asati ava pavari.
and after getting into the boat, they started going across the sea to Capernaum. Darkness had already set in, but Jesus had not come to them.
18 Mhepo ine simba yakanga ichivhuvhuta uye kukava namafungu ane hasha.
Then the sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing.
19 Vakati vakwasva igwa kwamakiromita angaita mashanu kana matanhatu, vakaona Jesu achiuya kuigwa, achifamba pamusoro pemvura; uye vakatya zvikuru.
When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the sea, and they were afraid.
20 Asi iye akati kwavari, “Ndini; musatya.”
But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”
21 Ipapo vakafara kumugamuchira mugwa; pakarepo igwa rakasvika kumahombekombe kwavakanga vakananga.
Then they were willing to receive him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land where they were heading.
22 Fume mangwana, vanhu vazhinji vakanga vasara mhiri kwegungwa vakatanga kuona kuti pakanga pachingova neigwa rimwe chete ipapo, uye kuti Jesu haana kunge apinda mariri kuti aende navadzidzi vake, asi kuti vakanga vaenda vari voga.
On the next day the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea realized that there had been no other boat there except the one Jesus' disciples had gotten into, and that Jesus himself had not gotten into the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.
23 Ipapo mamwe magwa aibva kuTibheriasi akasvika pedyo nenzvimbo yakanga yadyirwa chingwa navanhu shure kwokuvonga kwaShe.
Then other boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
24 Vazhinji vakati vaona kuti Jesu navadzidzi vake vakanga vasisipo, vakapinda mumagwa ndokuenda kuKapenaume vachitsvaka Jesu.
So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 Vakati vamuwana ari mhiri kwegungwa vakamubvunza vakati, “Rabhi, makauya kuno riniko?”
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did yoʋ get here?”
26 Jesu akapindura akati, “Ndinokuudzai chokwadi kuti, muri kunditsvaka, kwete nokuda kwokuti makaona zviratidzo, asi nokuda kwokuti makadya zvingwa uye mukaguta.
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me not because you saw signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
27 Musashandira zvokudya zvinopera, asi shandirai zvokudya zvinogara kuupenyu husingaperi zvamuchapiwa noMwanakomana woMunhu. Mwari Baba vakaisa chisimbiso chavo paari.” (aiōnios g166)
Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” (aiōnios g166)
28 Ipapo vakamubvunza vakati, “Tinofanira kuita seiko kuti tiite mabasa anodikanwa naMwari?”
Then they said to him, “What must we do to do the works of God?”
29 Jesu akapindura akati, “Basa raMwari nderiri: kuti mutende kuna iye waakatuma.”
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he has sent.”
30 Saka vakamubvunza vakati, “Muchatiratidza chiratidzo cheiko chatingaona kuti tigokutendai? Muchaiteiko?
So they said to him, “What sign then are yoʋ going to perform so that we may see it and believe yoʋ? What will yoʋ do?
31 Madzibaba edu akadya mana murenje; sezvazvakanyorwa zvichinzi: ‘Akavapa chingwa chakabva kudenga kuti vadye.’”
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, just as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
32 Jesu akati kwavari, “Zvirokwazvo ndinoti kwamuri, haasi Mozisi akakupai chingwa chakabva kudenga, asi kuti ndiBaba vangu vanokupai chingwa chezvokwadi chinobva kudenga.
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 Nokuti chingwa chaMwari ndiye anoburuka achibva kudenga uye anopa upenyu kunyika.”
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 Ivo vakati, “Ishe, kubva zvino zvichienda mberi, tipei chingwa ichi.”
So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”
35 Ipapo Jesu akataura achiti, “Ndini chingwa choupenyu. Ani naani anouya kwandiri haangatongovi nenzara, uye ani naani anotenda kwandiri haangatongovi nenyota.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will never hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst.
36 Asi sezvandakakuudzai, makandiona uye hamutendi nazvino.
But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.
37 Zvose zvandinopiwa naBaba zvichauya kwandiri, uye ani naani anouya kwandiri handingatongomurasiri kure.
Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and I will never cast out anyone who comes to me.
38 Nokuti handina kuburuka kubva kudenga kuti ndizoita kuda kwangu asi kuti ndizoita kuda kwaiye akandituma.
For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 Uye uku ndiko kuda kwaiye akandituma, kuti ndirege kurasikirwa navose vaakandipa, asi kuti ndivamutse pazuva rokupedzisira.
And this is the will of the Father who sent me, that I should lose none of those he has given me, but should raise them up on the last day.
40 Nokuti kuda kwaBaba vangu ndiko kuti ani naani anotarira kuMwanakomana agotenda kwaari achava noupenyu husingaperi, uye ndichamumutsa pazuva rokupedzisira.” (aiōnios g166)
And this is the will of him who sent me, that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (aiōnios g166)
41 Ipapo, vaJudha vakatanga kugununʼuna pamusoro pake nokuti akati, “Ndini chingwa chakaburuka kubva kudenga.”
Then the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
42 Vakati, “Ko, uyu haasi Jesu, mwanakomana waJosefa here, watinoziva baba vake namai vake? Zvino anotaura sei achiti, ‘Ndakaburuka kubva kudenga’?”
They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
43 Jesu akapindura akati, “Regai kugununʼuna pakati penyu.
Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves.
44 Hakuna munhu angauya kwandiri kunze kwokunge Baba vakandituma vamukweva, uye ndichamumutsa pazuva rokupedzisira.
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.
45 Muvaprofita makanyorwa muchinzi: ‘Vose vachadzidziswa naMwari.’ Ani naani anoteerera kuna Baba uye anodzidza kubva kwavari anouya kwandiri.
It is written in the Prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone therefore who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me—
46 Hakuna munhu akaona Baba kunze kwouyo anobva kuna Mwari; ndiye chete akaona Baba.
not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.
47 Zvirokwazvo ndinoti kwamuri, uyo anotenda ndiye ano upenyu husingaperi. (aiōnios g166)
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me has eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
48 Ndini chingwa choupenyu.
I am the bread of life.
49 Madzitateguru enyu akadya mana mugwenga, asi vakafa.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
50 Asi hechino chingwa chinobva kudenga, chinoti kana munhu akadya haangafi.
This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die.
51 Ndini chingwa chipenyu chakaburuka kubva kudenga. Kana munhu upi zvake akadya chingwa ichi, achararama nokusingaperi. Chingwa ichi inyama yangu, yandichapa nokuda kwoupenyu hwenyika.” (aiōn g165)
I am the living bread that has come down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” (aiōn g165)
52 Ipapo vaJudha vakatanga kukakavadzana zvikuru pakati pavo vachiti, “Munhu uyu angatipa nyama yake kuti tiidye seiko?”
Then the Jews began to quarrel with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesu akati kwavari, “Ndinokuudzai chokwadi kuti, kana musingadyi nyama yoMwanakomana woMunhu nokunwa ropa rake, hamuna upenyu mamuri.
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.
54 Ani naani anodya nyama yangu nokunwa ropa rangu anogara mandiri, uye ini maari. (aiōnios g166)
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (aiōnios g166)
55 Nokuti nyama yangu ndicho chokudya chaicho.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56 Ani naani anodya nyama yangu uye anonwa ropa rangu anogara mandiri, neni maari.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
57 Sezvo Baba vapenyu vakandituma uye ndichirarama nokuda kwaBaba, saizvozvo uyo anodya pandiri achararama nokuda kwangu.
Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me will also live because of me.
58 Ichi ndicho chingwa chakaburuka kubva kudenga. Madzitateguru enyu akadya mana uye akafa, asi ani naani anodya chingwa ichi achararama nokusingaperi.” (aiōn g165)
This is the bread that came down from heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and died. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (aiōn g165)
59 Akataura izvi paakanga achidzidzisa ari musinagoge muKapenaume.
He said these things in a synagogue while teaching in Capernaum.
60 Pavakanzwa izvi, vadzidzi vake vazhinji vakati, “Kudzidzisa uku kwakaoma. Ndianiko angakugamuchira?”
After hearing this, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard saying; who can accept it?”
61 Achiziva zvake kuti vadzidzi vake vakanga vachigununʼuna pamusoro paizvozvi, Jesu akati kwavari, “Izvi zvinokugumburai here?
But Jesus, aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Does this offend you?
62 Muchaita sei kana mukaona Mwanakomana woMunhu achikwira achienda kwaaimbova kare!
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
63 Mweya ndiye anopa upenyu, nyama haina chainobatsira. Mashoko andataura kwamuri ndiwo mweya, uye ane upenyu.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no benefit. The words that I speak to you are spirit and life.
64 Asi vamwe venyu varipo vasingatendi.” Nokuti Jesu akanga achiziva kubva pakutanga kuti ndivanaani pakati pavo vakanga vasingatendi uye kuti ndiani aizomupandukira.
But there are some among you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning which of them did not believe and who it was that would betray him.)
65 Akaenderera mberi achiti, “Ndokusaka ndakuudzai kuti hakuna munhu angauya kwandiri kunze kwokunge azvipiwa naBaba.”
Then he said, “That is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it has been granted to him by my Father.”
66 Kubva panguva iyi vadzidzi vake vazhinji vakadzokera shure uye vakasazomutevera.
At that point many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him.
67 Jesu akabvunza vane gumi navaviri akati, “Nemiwo hamusi kuda kuenda here?”
So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 Simoni akati, “Ishe, tichaenda kuna aniko? Imi mune mashoko oupenyu husingaperi. (aiōnios g166)
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? Yoʋ have the words of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
69 Tinotenda uye tinoziva kuti ndimi Mutsvene waMwari.”
And we have come to believe and to know that yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
70 Ipapo Jesu akati, “Handina kukusarudzai, imi vane gumi navaviri here? Asi mumwe wenyu ndidhiabhori!”
Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.”
71 Akanga achireva Judhasi, mwanakomana waSimoni Iskarioti, uyo, kunyange akanga ari mumwe wavane gumi navaviri, aizomupandukira.
(Now he was speaking about Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was one of the twelve and would later betray him.)
