< Johani 4 >

1 VaFarisi vakanzwa kuti Jesu akanga achiteverwa navanhu vazhinji uye achibhabhatidza vadzidzi vakawanda kupfuura Johani,
When therefore the Lord knew, that the Pharisees had heard—Jesus, more disciples, is making and immersing, than John, —
2 kunyange zvake akanga asiri Jesu aibhabhatidza, asi vadzidzi vake.
although indeed, Jesus himself, was not immersing, but his disciples,
3 Ishe akati anzwa izvi, akabva kuJudhea akadzokera kuGarirea zvakare.
he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 Zvino akanga achifanira kupfuura nomuSamaria.
Now he must needs pass through Samaria.
5 Saka akasvika paguta romuSamaria rainzi Saika, pedyo nomunda wakanga wapiwa kuna Josefa nababa vake Jakobho.
He cometh, therefore, unto a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground which Jacob gave unto Joseph his son.
6 Tsime raJakobho raiva ipapo, uye Jesu, aneta sezvo akanga achibva parwendo, akagara pasi patsime ipapo. Yakanga iri nguva inenge yechitanhatu.
Now Jacob’s fountain was there. Jesus, therefore, having become toil-worn with the journey, was sitting thus, upon the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.
7 Mukadzi muSamaria akati auya kuzochera mvura, Jesu akati kwaari, “Ndipewo mvura yokunwa?”
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her—Give me to drink!
8 (Vadzidzi vake vakanga vapinda muguta kuti vandotenga zvokudya.)
for, his disciples, had gone away into the city, that, food, they might buy.
9 Mukadzi muSamaria akati kwaari, “Iwe uri muJudha uye ini ndiri muSamaria. Seiko uchikumbira kwandiri mvura yokunwa?” (Nokuti vaJudha havadyidzani navaSamaria.)
The Samaritan woman, therefore, saith unto him—How dost, thou, being, a Jew, ask to drink, of me, who am, a Samaritan woman? [for, Jews, have no dealings with Samaritans.]
10 Jesu akamupindura akati, “Dai waiziva chipo chaMwari uye kuti ndiani anokumbira mvura kwauri, ungadai wakumbira kwaari uye angadai akupa mvura mhenyu.”
Jesus answered, and said unto her—If thou hadst known the free gift of God, and who it is that is saying unto thee, Give me to drink, thou, wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 Mukadzi akati, “Ishe, hamuna chamungacheresa nacho uye tsime rakadzika. Ko, mvura mhenyu mungaiwanepi?
She saith unto him—Sir! not even a bucket, hast thou, —and, the well, is, deep: —Whence, then, hast thou the living water?
12 Ko, imi muri mukuru here, kuna baba vedu Jakobho, avo vakatipa tsime uye vakanwa pariri ivo pachavo, sezvakaitawo vanakomana vavo namakwai avo nemombe?”
Art, thou, greater than, our father Jacob, who gave us the well, —and, himself, out of it drank, and his sons, and his flocks?
13 Jesu akapindura akati, “Ani naani anonwa mvura iyi achava nenyotazve,
Jesus answered, and said unto her—Whosoever drinketh of this water, will thirst, again;
14 asi ani naani anonwa mvura yandichamupa haangatongovi nenyota. Zvirokwazvo, mvura yandichamupa ini ichava maari chitubu chemvura inoerera kuupenyu husingaperi.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
But, whosoever shall drink of the water which, I, will give him, in nowise shall thirst, unto times age-abiding, —but, the water which I will give him, shall become, within him, a fountain of water, springing up unto life age-abiding. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 Mukadzi akati kwaari, “Ishe, ndipei mvura iyi kuitira kuti ndirege kuzova nenyotazve uye ndirege kuramba ndichingouya kuzochera mvura pano.”
The woman saith unto him—Sir! give me this water, that I thirst not, neither be coming hither to draw.
16 Iye akati, “Enda, undodana murume wako ugodzoka pano.”
He saith unto her—Go, call thy husband, and come hither!
17 Akapindura akati, “Handina murume.” Jesu akati kwaari, “Wareva zvakanaka pawati hauna murume.
The woman answered, and said [unto him]—I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her—Well, saidst thou, A husband, I have not;
18 Chokwadi ndeichi, wakava navarume vashanu, uye murume waunaye zvino haazi murume wako. Zvawabva mukutaura ndicho chokwadi.”
for, five husbands, thou hast had, —and, now, he whom thou hast, is not thy, husband: This true thing, hast thou spoken.
19 Mukadzi akati, “Ishe, ndinoona kuti muri muprofita.
The woman saith unto him—Sir! I perceive that, a prophet, art, thou: —
20 Madzibaba edu ainamata pagomo iri, asi imi vaJudha munoti, nzvimbo yatinofanira kunamata tiri ndimo muJerusarema.”
Our fathers, in this mountain, worshipped; and, ye, say, that, in Jerusalem, is the place, where, to worship, it behoveth.
21 Jesu akati, “Mai, nditendei, nguva inouya yamuchanamata Baba musiri pagomo rino kana muJerusarema.
Jesus saith unto her—Believe me, woman! There cometh an hour, when, neither in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
22 Imi vaSamaria munonamata chamusingazivi; isu tinonamata chatinoziva, nokuti ruponeso runobva kuvaJudha.
Ye, worship, that which ye know not; We, worship, that which we know; because, salvation, is, of the Jews.
23 Asi nguva inouya uye yatouya zvino apo vanamati vechokwadi vachanamata Baba mumweya nomuzvokwadi, nokuti ndivo vanamati vanotsvakwa naBaba kuti vamunamate.
But there cometh an hour, and, now, is, —when, the real worshippers, shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for, even the Father, is seeking, such as these, as his worshippers.
24 Mwari mweya, uye vanomunamata vanofanira kumunamata mumweya nomuzvokwadi.”
God is, spirit; and, they that worship him, in spirit and truth, must needs worship.
25 Mukadzi akati, “Ndinoziva kuti Mesiya, anonzi Kristu, ari kuuya. Paanouya, acharondedzera zvinhu zvose kwatiri.”
The woman saith unto him—I know that, Messiah, cometh, who is called Christ, —Whensoever, he, shall come, he will tell us, everything.
26 Ipapo Jesu akataura akati, “Ini ndiri kutaura newe ndini iye.”
Jesus saith unto her—I, that speak unto thee, am he.
27 Pakarepo vadzidzi vake vakadzokera kwaari uye vakashamiswa vachiona achitaura nomukadzi. Asi hapana akamubvunza kuti, “Unodei?” kana kuti “Munotaurireiko naye?”
And, hereupon, came his disciples, and they began to marvel, that, with a woman, he was talking. No one, however, said—What seekest thou? or—Why talkest thou with her?
28 Ipapo, asiya chirongo chake, mukadzi akadzokera kuguta akandoti kuvanhu,
The woman, therefore, left her water-vessel, and went away into the city, and saith unto the men—
29 “Uyai, muone murume anditaurira zvinhu zvose zvandakaita. Kuti uyu angava iye Kristu here?”
Come! see a man, that told me all things that ever I did: Can, this, be, the Christ?
30 Vakabuda muguta vakapinda munzira yavo vakananga kwaari.
They came forth out of the city, and were coming unto him.
31 Vanhu vasati vasvika, vadzidzi vake vakafanomukurudzira vachiti, “Rabhi, imbowanai chamungadya.”
In the meantime, the disciples were requesting him, saying—Rabbi! eat.
32 Asi iye akati kwavari, “Ndine chokudya chandinodya chamusingazivi.”
But, he, said unto them—I, have, food, to eat, of which, ye, know not.
33 Ipapo vadzidzi vake vakati kuno mumwe nomumwe wavo, “Asi pano munhu amuvigira zvokudya kanhi?”
The disciples, therefore, began to say, one to another—Hath anyone brought him, to eat?
34 Jesu akati kwavari, “Zvokudya zvangu ndiko kuita kuda kwowakandituma uye nokupedza basa rake.
Jesus saith unto them—My food, is, that I should do the will of him that sent me, and complete, his work.
35 Ko, imi hamuti here, ‘Kwasara mwedzi mina ipapo kucheka kwobva kwasvika?’ Ndinoti kwamuri, svinurai meso enyu uye mutarise kuminda! Yatoibva kuti ikohwewe.
Are, ye, not saying—Yet, a fourmonth, it is, and, the harvest, cometh? Lo! I say unto you—Lift up your eyes, and gaze at the fields, —that, white, are they unto, harvest. Already,
36 Kunyange iye zvino mukohwi anopiwa mubayiro wake, kunyange izvozvi anokohwa zvibereko zvoupenyu husingaperi, kuitira kuti mukushi nomukohwi vagofara pamwe chete. (aiōnios g166)
he that reapeth, receiveth, a reward, and gathereth fruit unto life age-abiding; that, he that soweth, together may rejoice, with him that reapeth. (aiōnios g166)
37 Nokuti tsumo inoti, ‘Mumwe anokusha uye mumwe anokohwa ndeyezvokwadi.’
For, herein, doth the saying, hold good, —One, is the sower, and, another, is the reaper.
38 Ndakakutumai kunokohwa zvamusina kushandira. Vamwe vakaita basa rakaoma, uye imi makakohwa mubayiro wokubata kwavo.”
I, sent you forth, to be reaping that whereon, ye, have not toiled: Others, have toiled, and, ye, into their toil, have entered.
39 VaSamaria vazhinji vaibva muguta iro vakatenda kwaari nokuda kwouchapupu hwomukadzi hwokuti, “Akanditaurira zvose zvandakaita.”
And, out of that city, many, believed on him—of the Samaritans, —by reason of the word of the woman in bearing witness—He told me all things that ever I did.
40 Saka vaSamaria vakasvika kwaari, vakamukumbira kuti agare navo, nokudaro akagarapo kwamazuva maviri.
When, therefore, the Samaritans came unto him, they went on to request him to abide with them; and he abode there two days.
41 Uye nokuda kwamashoko ake vamwezve vazhinji vakava vatendi.
And, many more, believed by reason of his discourse;
42 Vakati kumukadzi uya, “Hatichatongotendi nokuda kwezvawataura chete; zvino tazvinzwira pachedu, uye tinoziva kuti murume uyu chokwadi ndiye Muponesi wenyika.”
and, unto the woman, began to say—No longer, by reason of thy talk, do we believe; for, we ourselves, have heard, and know that, This One, is, in truth, the Saviour of the world.
43 Mazuva maviri akati apfuura, akabva akaenda kuGarirea.
But, after the two days, he went forth from thence, into Galilee.
44 Zvino Jesu pachake akanga ambopupura kuti muprofita haakudzwi munyika yokwake.
For, Jesus himself, bare witness, that, a prophet, in his own fatherland, hath not, honour.
45 Akati asvika muGarirea, vaGarirea vakamugamuchira. Vakanga vaona zvose zvaakanga aita muJerusarema pamutambo wePasika, nokuti naivowo vaivapo.
So, when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans welcomed him, having seen, all things, whatsoever he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; for, they also, went unto the feast.
46 Akashanyirazve Kana yomuGarirea, uko kwaakanga ashandura mvura ikava waini. Uye ikoko kwakanga kuno mumwe mutariri wamambo akanga ane mwanakomana wake akanga avete achirwara paKapenaume.
So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water, wine. And there was a certain courtier, whose son was sick, in Capernaum.
47 Murume uyu akati anzwa kuti Jesu asvika muGarirea achibva kuJudhea, akaenda kwaari akandomukumbira kuti auye azoporesa mwanakomana wake, uyo akanga ava pedyo nokufa.
The same, hearing that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, came away unto him, and began requesting him, that he would come down and heal his son; for he was on the point of dying.
48 Jesu akati kwaari, “Kana imi vanhu musina kuona zviratidzo nezvishamiso, hamungatongotendi.”
Jesus therefore said unto him—Except, signs and wonders, ye see, in nowise will ye believe.
49 Mutariri wamambo akati, “Ishe, burukai muuye mwana wangu asati afa.”
The courtier saith unto him—Sir! come down, ere my child die!
50 Jesu akapindura akati, “Enda hako. Mwanakomana wako achararama.” Murume uyu akagamuchira shoko raJesu akaenda.
Jesus saith unto him—Be going thy way: thy son, liveth! And the man believed in the word which Jesus spake to him, and at once went his way.
51 Achiri munzira varanda vake vakasangana naye namashoko okuti mukomana akanga apora.
And, when he was even now going down, his servants, met him, saying, that, his boy, was living.
52 Akati abvunza nguva yakatanga mwana kunzwa zviri nani, ivo vakati kwaari, “Fivha yakabva paari nezuro panguva dzechinomwe.”
So he enquired the hour, from them, when he began, to amend. They said, therefore, unto him—Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.
53 Ipapo baba vaya vakayeuka kuti ndiyo yakanga iri nguva chaiyo paakanzi naJesu, “Mwanakomana wako achararama.” Saka iye neimba yake yose vakatenda.
So the father took note that it was, in that hour, wherein Jesus said unto him—Thy son, liveth! and he believed, he, and all his house.
54 Ichi ndicho chakanga chiri chiratidzo chechipiri chakaitwa naJesu, abva kuJudhea ava kuGarirea.
Now, this again, as, a second sign, Jesus did, after coming out of Judaea into Galilee.
