< Genesisi 13 >
1 Saka Abhurama akakwidza achibva kuIjipiti akaenda kuNegevhi, nomukadzi wake uye nezvinhu zvose zvaakanga anazvo, uye Roti akaenda naye.
So Abram came up out of Egypt he and his wife and all that he had and Lot with him, towards the South.
2 Abhurama akanga apfuma kwazvo pamombe nesirivha uye negoridhe.
Now, Abram, was very rich, —in cattle, in silver and in gold.
3 Kubva kuNegevhi akafamba nzvimbo nenzvimbo kudzamara asvika kuBheteri, kunzvimbo iri pakati peBheteri neAi kwaimbova netende rake kare
And he went his way, by his removals, from the South even as far as to Bethel, —as far as the place where his tent was at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai:
4 uye kwaakanga atanga kuvaka aritari. Abhurama akadana kuzita raJehovha ikoko.
unto the place of the altar, which he made there at first, —and Abram called there, on the name of Yahweh.
5 Zvino Roti, uyo akanga achifamba naAbhurama, akanga ana makwai nemombewo namatende.
Now, Lot also, who was going with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.
6 Asi nyika haina kugona kuvaringana kuti vagare pamwe chete, nokuti pfuma yavo yakanga yakawanda kwazvo zvokuti vakanga vasisakwanisi kugara pamwe chete.
And the land suffered them not to dwell together, —because their substance had become, great, so that they could not dwell together.
7 Uye gakava rakamuka pakati pavafudzi vaAbhurama navafudzi vaRoti. VaKenani navaPerizi vakanga vachigarawo munyika panguva iyoyo.
And there arose a strife betwixt the herdmen of Abram, and the herdmen of Lot. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite, were then dwelling in the land.
8 Saka Abhurama akati kuna Roti, “Ngaparege kuva negakava pakati pako neni, kana pakati pavafudzi vako nevangu, nokuti tiri hama.
So then Abram said unto Lot Pray let not cause of strife arise betwixt me and thee, or betwixt my herdmen and thy herdmen; for brethren, are we.
9 Ko, nyika yose iyi haisi pamberi pako here? Ngatiparadzane. Kana ukaenda kuruboshwe, ini ndichaenda kurudyi; kana ukaenda kurudyi, ini ndichaenda kuruboshwe.”
Is not, all the land, before thee? I pray thee, separate thyself from me, —if to the left hand, then I will go to the right, if to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
10 Roti akatarira kumusoro akaona bani rose reJorodhani kuti rakanga rakanyatsonyorova, sebindu raJehovha, kufanana nenyika yeIjipiti, kwakanangana neZoari. (Panguva iyi Jehovha akanga achigere kuparadza Sodhomu neGomora.)
So Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the circuit of the Jordan, that the whole of it, was well-watered, —before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the Garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as thou enterest into Zoar.
11 Saka Roti akazvisarudzira bani rose reJorodhani uye akasimuka akananga kumabvazuva. Varume vaviri ava vakaparadzana:
And Lot chose for himself all the circuit of the Jordan, so Lot brake up eastwards, —and they separated themselves, each man from his brother:
12 Abhurama akagara munyika yeKenani, Roti akagara pakati pamaguta omumapani uye akadzika matende ake pedyo neSodhomu.
Abram, fixed his dwelling in the land of Canaan, —but, Lot, fixed his dwelling among the cities, of the circuit, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.
13 Zvino varume veSodhomu vakanga vakaipa uye vaitadzira Jehovha kwazvo.
Now, the men of Sodom were base and sinful, —against Yahweh, exceedingly.
14 Jehovha akati kuna Abhurama shure kwokubva kwaRoti, “Simudza meso ako uri pauri ipapo uye utarire kumusoro nezasi, kumabvazuva nokumavirira.
And, Yahweh, said unto Abram after that Lot had separated himself from him, Lift up, I pray thee thine eyes and look, from the place where thou art, —northward and southward and eastward and westward;
15 Nyika yose yauri kuona ndichakupa iwe navana vako nokusingaperi.
for all the land which thou art beholding—to thee, will I give it, and to thy seed unto times age-abiding;
16 Ndichaita kuti vana vako vave seguruva renyika, zvokuti kana pano munhu angagona kuverenga guruva, naizvozvo vana vako vachagona kuverengwawo.
and I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, —so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, thy seed also, may be numbered.
17 Enda, famba munyika, muurefu nomuupamhi hwayo, nokuti ndichaipa kwauri.”
Rise! go up and down in the land, to the length thereof and to the breadth thereof, for to thee, will I give it.
18 Saka Abhurama akabvisa matende ake uye akandogara pedyo nemiti mikuru yeMamure paHebhuroni, uye akavakira Jehovha aritari ipapo.
So Abram moved his tent and came in and dwelt among the oaks of Mamre, which were in Hebron, —and built there an altar to Yahweh.
