And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to test thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not.
3 Akakuninipisai, akakuitai kuti muziye nenzara akakugutsai nemana, iyo yakanga isingazivikanwi nemi kunyange namadzibaba enyu, kuti akudzidzisei kuti munhu haararame nechingwa chete asi neshoko rimwe nerimwe rinobva mumuromo maJehovha.
And he humbled thee, and allowed thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
4 Nguo dzenyu hadzina kusakara uye tsoka dzenyu hadzina kuzvimba pamakore aya makumi mana.
Thy raiment hath not become old upon thee, neither hath thy foot swelled, these forty years.
5 Naizvozvo zvizive mumwoyo wako kuti Jehovha Mwari wako anokuranga, somunhu anoranga mwanakomana wake.
Thou shalt also consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
6 Chengeta mirayiro yaJehovha Mwari wako, ufambe munzira dzake uye umukudze.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil, and honey;

A land in which thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
10 Kana uchinge wadya waguta rumbidza Jehovha Mwari wako nokuda kwenyika yakanaka yaakakupa,

Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
12 Nokuti zvichida kana wadya ukaguta, kana ukavaka dzimba dzakanaka uye wagadzikana,
Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt in them;
13 uye kana mombe dzako namapoka amakwai ako zvawanda, nesirivha negoridhe rako zvawanda uye zvose zvaunazvo zvikawanda,
And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold are increased, and all that thou hast is increased;
14 ipapo mwoyo wako uchazvikudza zvino uchakanganwa Jehovha Mwari wako, akakubudisa kubva kuIjipiti, kubva kunyika youranda.
Then thy heart shall be lifted up, and thou shalt forget the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
15 Akakutungamirirai murenje guru rinotyisa, munyika iyo yakaoma isina mvura, nenyoka dzayo nezvinyavada zvine uturu. Akakubudisirai mvura kubva padombo rakaoma.
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
16 Akakupai mana kuti mudye murenje, chinhu chakanga chisingambozivikanwi namadzibaba enyu, kuti akuninipisei nokukuedzai kuitira kuti zvikuitirei zvakanaka pakupedzisira.
Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might test thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
17 Ungati mumwoyo mako, “Simba rangu nesimba ramaoko angu ndizvo zvakandiitira upfumi uhu.”
And thou shalt say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.
18 Asi urangarire Jehovha Mwari wako, nokuti ndiye anokupa simba rokuita upfumi, naizvozvo achisimbisa sungano yake, yaakapikira madzitateguru enyu, sezvazviri nhasi.
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to thy fathers, as it is this day.
19 Kana mukangokanganwa Jehovha Mwari wenyu muchitevera vamwe vamwari nokuvanamata uye nokuvapfugamira, ndinokupupurirai nhasi kuti zvirokwazvo muchaparadzwa.
And it shall be, if thou shalt at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
20 Imi muchaparadzwa sendudzi dzakaparadzwa naJehovha pamberi penyu, kana mukaramba kuteerera Jehovha Mwari wenyu.
As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.
