< Dhuteronomi 10 >

1 Panguva iyoyo Jehovha akati kwandiri, “Veza mahwendefa maviri amabwe akaita saaya okutanga ugouya kwandiri pagomo. Ugadzirewo zvakare areka yomuti.
At that time, said Yahweh unto me—Cut thee out two tables of stone like the first, and come up unto me into the mountain, —and make thee an ark of wood;
2 Ndichanyora pamahwendefa mashoko akanga ari pamahwendefa okutanga awakaputsa. Zvino unofanira kuaisa muareka.”
that I may write, upon the tables, the words which were on the first tables which thou brakest in pieces, —then shalt thou put them in the ark.
3 Saka ndakagadzira areka ndichishandisa muti womuunga uye ndikaveza mahwendefa maviri amabwe akanga akaita seokutanga, ndikakwira mugomo ndakabata mahwendefa maviri aya mumaoko angu.
So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut out two tables of stone like the first, —and went up the mountain, having the two tables in my hand.
4 Jehovha akanyora pamahwendefa aya zvakafanana nezvaakanga anyora pakutanga, Mirayiro Gumi yaakanga akuudzai pagomo, ari mumoto, pazuva reungano. Uye Jehovha akaipa kwandiri.
And he wrote upon the tables according to the first writing—the ten words, which Yahweh had spoken unto you in the mountain, out of the midst of the fire in the day of the convocation, —and Yahweh delivered them unto me.
5 Ipapo ndakadzoka ndikaburuka pagomo ndikaisa mahwendefa muareka yandakanga ndagadzira, sezvandakanga ndarayirwa naJehovha, uye ndimo maari nazvino.
Then turned I, and came down out of the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, —and they have remained there, as Yahweh commanded me.
6 (VaIsraeri vakasimuka vakabva pamatsime avaJaakani vakaenda kuMosera. Ipapo ndipo pakafira Aroni akavigwa, uye Ereazari mwanakomana wake akatora chinzvimbo chake somuprista.
And, the sons of Israel, set forward out of Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah, —there, died Aaron and was buried there, and Eleazar his son became priest in his stead.
7 Vakasimukapo vakaenda kuGudhugodha vakapfuurira kuenda kuJotibhata, nyika ine hova dzemvura.
From thence, set they forward unto the Gudgodah, —and from the Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of torrents of water.
8 Panguva iyoyo Jehovha akatsaura rudzi rwavaRevhi kuti vatakure areka yesungano yaJehovha, kuti vamire pamberi paJehovha vachishumira, uye kuti varopafadze vanhu muzita raJehovha, sezvavanoita nanhasi.
At that time, did Yahweh separate the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, —to stand before Yahweh to wait upon him and to bless in his name (until this day).
9 Ndokusaka vaRevhi vasina mugove wenhaka pakati pehama dzavo; Jehovha ndiye nhaka yavo sezvavakaudzwa naJehovha Mwari wenyu.)
For this cause, hath Levi neither portion nor inheritance with his brethren, —Yahweh, is his inheritance, as Yahweh thy God spake unto him.
10 Zvino ini ndakanga ndagara pagomo mazuva makumi mana nousiku huna makumi mana, sezvandakaita pakutanga, uye Jehovha akandinzwa panguva iyoyo zvakare. Kwakanga kusiri kuda kwake kuti akuparadzei.
But, I, stayed in the mountain according to the former days, forty days and forty nights, —and Yahweh hearkened unto me at that time also, Yahweh was not willing, to destroy thee.
11 Jehovha akati kwandiri, “Enda, utungamirire vanhu panzira yavo, kuitira kuti vapinde uye vatore nyika yandakapikira madzibaba avo kuti ndichavapa.”
So then Yahweh said unto me, Up with thee—to break away onward, before the people, —that they may enter in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers, to give unto them.
12 Zvino, iwe Israeri, Jehovha Mwari wako anodeiko kwauri kunze kwokuti utye Jehovha Mwari wako, ufambe munzira dzake dzose, umude, uye ushumire Jehovha Mwari wako nomwoyo wako wose nomweya wako wose,
Now, therefore, O Israel, what is, Yahweh thy God, asking of thee, —but to revere Yahweh thy God to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul:
13 uye uchengete mirayiro yaJehovha nemitemo yake yandinokupai nhasi kuti zvikunakire?
to keep the commandments of Yahweh and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day, —for thy good?
14 Denga, kunyange nedenga ramatenga, nenyika nezvose zviri mairi ndezvaJehovha Mwari wako.
Lo! unto Yahweh thy God, belong the heavens even the highest heavens, —the earth, with all that is therein.
15 Kunyange zvakadaro Jehovha akafarira madzitateguru enyu akavada uye akakutsaurai, imi zvizvarwa zvavo, pamusoro pedzimwe ndudzi dzose sezvazviri nhasi.
Only unto thy fathers, Yahweh became attached so as to love them, —therefore made he choice of their seed after them—of you—out of all the peoples, (as at this day).
16 Naizvozvo, dzingisai mwoyo yenyu, uye murege kuva nemitsipa mikukutu zvakare.
Therefore must ye circumcise the foreskin of your hearts, —and your necks, must ye stiffen no more.
17 Nokuti Jehovha Mwari wenyu ndiMwari wavamwari naIshe wamadzishe, Mwari mukuru, ane simba guru uye anotyisa, asingatsauri vanhu uye asingagamuchiri fufuro.
For as touching Yahweh your God, he, is God of gods, and Lord of lords; the great the mighty, and the fearful GOD, who respecteth not persons, nor accepteth a bribe;
18 Anoruramisira nherera nechirikadzi, uye anoda mutorwa, agomupa zvokudya nezvokupfeka.
executing the vindication of the orphan and the widow, —and loving a sojourner, giving him food and raiment.
19 Uye munofanira kuda vatorwa, nokuti imi maimbovawo vatorwa muIjipiti.
Therefore shall ye love the sojourner, —for sojourners, became ye in the land of Egypt.
20 Ityai Jehovha Mwari wenyu mugomushumira. Batirirai paari uye muite mhiko dzenyu muzita rake.
Yahweh thy God, shalt thou revere, Him, shalt thou serve, —And unto him, shalt thou cleave, And in his name, shalt thou swear.
21 Ndiye rumbidzo yenyu; ndiye Mwari wenyu, iye akakuitirai zvinhu zvikuru nezvishamiso zvinotyisa zviya zvamakaona nameso enyu.
He, is thy song of praise, And, he, thy God, —who hath done with thee these great and fearful things, which thine own eyes have seen.
22 Madzitateguru enyu akaenda kuIjipiti vari makumi manomwe pamwe chete, uye zvino Jehovha Mwari wenyu akaita kuti muwande senyeredzi dzokudenga.
As seventy souls, went thy fathers down to Egypt, —and, now, Yahweh thy God hath made thee like the stars of the heavens for multitude.
