1 Pauro, mupostori waKristu Jesu nokurayira kwaMwari Muponesi wedu, naKristu Jesu, tariro yedu,
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus—by injunction of God our Saviour and Christ Jesus our hope, —
2 kuna Timoti mwanakomana wangu chaiye pakutenda: Nyasha, ngoni norugare zvinobva kuna Mwari Baba naKristu Jesu Ishe wedu.
unto Timothy, my true child in faith: favour, mercy, peace, from God our Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 Sezvandakakumbira zvikuru kwauri pandakaenda kuMasedhonia, gara paEfeso kuitira kuti ugorayira vamwe varume kuti varege kudzidzisa dzidziso dzenhema,
Even as I exhorted thee to remain in Ephesus, when I was journeying into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some—
4 kana kuzvipira kungano nokunhoroondo dzamazita amadzitateguru dzisingaperi. Izvi zvinongomutsa nharo panzvimbo yebasa raMwari rinoitwa nokutenda.
Not to be teaching otherwise, nor yet to be giving heed to stories and endless genealogies, —the which, bring, arguings, rather than that stewardship of God which is with faith; —
5 Chinovavarirwa nomurayiro uyu ndirwo rudo runobva pamwoyo wakachena, hana yakanaka nokutenda kwechokwadi.
Now, the end of the charge, is love—out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned, —
6 Vamwe vakarasika kubva pazvinhu izvi uye vakatsaukira mukutaura kusina maturo.
Which some, missing, have turned them aside unto idle talk,
7 Vanoda kuva vadzidzisi vomurayiro, asi havazivi zvavari kutaura pamusoro pazvo kana izvo zvavari kushingira kusimbisa.
Desiring to be law-teachers, —not understanding, either what they say or whereof they confidently affirm.
8 Tinoziva kuti murayiro wakanaka kana munhu achiushandisa zvakanaka.
Now we know that, excellent, is the law, if one put it to a lawful use: —
9 Tinozivawo kuti murayiro hauna kuitirwa vakarurama asi vanodarika murayiro navanomukira, vasina umwari navatadzi, vasiri vatsvene navasina chinamato; vaya vanouraya vanababa vavo kana vanamai vavo, vanouraya vanhu,
Knowing this—that, to a righteous man, law, doth not apply, but to the lawless and insubordinate, ungodly and sinful, irreligious and profane, smiters of fathers and smiters of mothers, murderers,
10 mhombwe navanopomba navamwe varume, navanotengesa vanhu kuti vave varanda, varevi venhema, navanopika nhema, uye kana chimwe chipi zvacho chinopesana nedzidziso yechokwadi
fornicators, sodomites, man-stealers, liars, false- swearers, —and, if anything else, unto the healthful teaching, is opposed; —
11 inosimbisa vhangeri rokubwinya, raMwari akaropafadzwa, iro raakapa kwandiri.
According to the glad-message of the glory of the happy God, with which entrusted am, I.
12 Ndinovonga Kristu Jesu Ishe wedu, akandipa simba, akati ndakatendeka, akandiisa pabasa rake.
Grateful, am I unto him that empowered me, Christ Jesus our Lord, in that, faithful, he accounted me, putting me into ministry, —
13 Kunyange zvazvo ndaimbomhura Mwari ndiri mutambudzi nomunhu wokumanikidza, ndakaitirwa ngoni nokuti ndakazviita mukusaziva uye nomukusatenda.
Though, formerly, a defamer, and persecutor, and insulter; nevertheless mercy was shown me, because, without knowledge, I acted, in unbelief:
14 Nyasha zhinji dzaIshe wedu dzakadururwa pamusoro pangu, pamwe chete nokutenda norudo zviri muna Kristu Jesu.
Yet exceeding abundant was the favour of our Lord, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
15 Herino shoko rezvokwadi rinofanira kutendwa kwazvo: Kristu Jesu akauya munyika kuti aponese vatadzi, ini ndiri mukuru wavo.
Faithful, the saying! and, of all acceptance, worthy, —that, Christ Jesus, came into the world, sinners, to save: of whom, the chief, am, I;—
16 Asi nokuda kwechikonzero ichochi ndakaitirwa ngoni kuitira kuti mandiri ini mutadzi mukuru, Kristu Jesu aratidze mwoyo murefu wake usingaperi kuti ndive muenzaniso kuna avo vachatenda kwaari uye vagowana upenyu husingaperi. (aiōnios g166)
Nevertheless, on this account, was mercy shewn me, —that, in me, the chief, Christ Jesus might shew forth his entire longsuffering, for an ensample of them about to believe on him unto life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
17 Zvino iye Ishe asingaperi, asingafi, asingaonekwi, iye Mwari oga, ngaave nokukudzwa nokubwinya nokusingaperi-peri. (aiōn g165)
Now, unto the King of the ages, —incorruptible, invisible, alone God, be honour and glory, unto the ages of ages, Amen! (aiōn g165)
18 Timoti, mwanakomana wangu, ndinokupa murayiro uyu maererano nezvakaprofitwa kare pamusoro pako, kuti kana ukautevera ucharwa kurwa kwakanaka,
This charge, I commit unto thee, child Timothy, According to the prophecies, running before on thee, in order that thou mightest war, with them, the noble warfare.
19 wakabata kutenda uye nehana yakanaka. Vamwe vakaramba mirayiro iyi vakarasikirwa nokutenda kwavo.
Holding faith and a good conscience, —which some, thrusting from them, concerning their faith, have made shipwreck: —
20 Vamwe vavo ndiHimenio naArekizanda, avo vandakaisa kuna Satani kuti vadzidziswe kuti varege kumhura Mwari.
Of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may be taught by discipline not to be defaming.
