1 Zvino pamusoro pezvipo zvoMweya, hama, handidi kuti muve musingazivi.
Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.
2 Munoziva kuti pamakanga muri vahedheni, makanga muchitungamirirwa uye nokutsauswa muchiiswa kuzvifananidzo zvisingagoni kutaura.
You know that when you were pagans, you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Naizvozvo ndinokuudzai kuti hakuna munhu anotaura noMweya waMwari anoti, “Jesu ngaatukwe.” Uye hakuna munhu anoti, “Jesu ndiye Ishe,” asi naMweya Mutsvene.
Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4 Kuna marudzi akasiyana ezvipo, asi Mweya ndomumwe.
There are different gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 Kuna marudzi akasiyana oushumiri, asi Ishe mumwe.
There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
6 Kuna marudzi akasiyana amabasa, asi Mwari mumwe ndiye anoita zvose muvanhu vose.
There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people.
7 Zvino mumwe nomumwe anopiwa kuratidzwa kwoMweya kuti vose vabatsirwe.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 Nokuti mumwe anopiwa noMweya shoko rouchenjeri, mumwe shoko rokuziva noMweya mumwe chete,
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit,
9 mumwe kutenda noMweya mumwe chete, mumwe zvipo zvokuporesa noMweya mumwe chete,
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 mumwe mabasa esimba, mumwe kuprofita, mumwe kuzivisisa mweya, mumwe kutaura nendimi dzakasiyana-siyana, uyezve mumwe kududzirwa kwendimi.
to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 Zvose ibasa raMweya mumwe chete uye anopa mumwe nomumwe, sezvaanoda.
All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.
12 Muviri chinhu chimwe chete, kunyange une mitezo mizhinji; uye kunyange mitezo yawo iri mizhinji, inoumba muviri mumwe chete. Ndizvowo zvakaita Kristu.
The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.
13 Nokuti tose takabhabhatidzwa noMweya mumwe mumuviri mumwe, vangava vaJudha kana vaGiriki, varanda kana vakasununguka, uye tose tikapiwa kuti tinwe Mweya mumwe.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
14 Zvino muviri hauna kuumbwa nomutezo mumwe, asi mizhinji.
For the body does not consist of one part, but of many.
15 Kana rutsoka rukati, “Nokuti handisi ruoko, saka handisi womuviri,” harungaregi kuva chikamu chomuviri nokuda kwechikonzero ichocho.
If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
16 Uye kana nenzeve ikati, “Nokuti handisi ziso, saka handisi chikamu chomuviri,” haringaregi kuva chikamu chomuviri nokuda kwechikonzero ichocho.
And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.
17 Kana kuti dai muviri wose waiva ziso, kunzwa kwaizovepiko? Kana kuti dai muviri wose waive nzeve, ko, kunhuhwidza kwaizovepiko?
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18 Asi zvino Mwari akaisa mitezo pamuviri, mumwe nomumwe wayo, sezvaakada kuti ive.
But in fact, God has arranged the members of the body, every one of them, according to His design.
19 Kana dai yose waiva mutezo mumwe, ko, muviri waizovepiko?
If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20 Sezvazviri, kune mitezo mizhinji asi muviri mumwe.
As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 Ziso haringati kuruoko, “Handinei newe!” Uye musoro haungati kurutsoka, “Handinei newe!”
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Nor can the head say to the feet, “I do not need you.”
22 Asi kutoti mitezo yomuviri inenge isina simba, ndiyo inodikanwa,
On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23 uye mitezo yatinofunga kuti haikudzwi ndiyo yatinokudza kwazvo,
and the parts we consider less honorable, we treat with greater honor. And our unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty,
24 asi mitezo yakanaka haidi kushongedzwa. Asi Mwari akabatanidza mitezo yomuviri uye akapa kukudzwa kukuru kumitezo iya isingakudzwi,
whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has composed the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
25 kuitira kuti parege kuva nokupesana pamuviri, asi kuti mitezo ichengetane zvakaenzana.
so that there should be no division in the body, but that its members should have mutual concern for one another.
26 Kana mumwe mutezo uchitambudzika, mitezo yose inotambudzika pamwe chete nawo; kana mutezo mumwe ukakudzwa, mitezo yose inofara pamwe chete nawo.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Zvino imi muri muviri waKristu, uye mumwe nomumwe wenyu mutezo wawo.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it.
28 Uye mukereke, Mwari akagadza pakutanga vapostori, vechipiri vaprofita, vechitatu vadzidzisi, tevere vaiti vezvishamiso, uye navane zvipo zvokuporesa, navanobatsira vamwe, vaya vane zvipo zvokufambisa basa, uye navaya vanotaura nendimi dzakasiyana-siyana.
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.
29 Vose vapostori here? Vose vaprofita here? Vose vadzidzisi here? Vose vanoita zvishamiso here?
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Vose vane zvipo zvokuporesa here? Vose vanotaura nendimi here? Vose vanodudzira here?
Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31 Asi shuvai kwazvo zvipo zvikuru. Uye zvino ndichakuratidzai nzira yakanaka kupfuura dzose.
But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
