< 1 VaKorinde 10 >
1 Nokuti hama dzangu, handidi kuti murege kuziva kuti madzibaba edu ose akanga ari pasi pegore uye kuti vose vakayambuka gungwa.
For I wish not ye should be ignorant, brethren, that, all our fathers, were, under the cloud, and, all, passed through the sea, —
2 Vose vakabhabhatidzwa muna Mozisi mugore nomugungwa.
And, all, immersed themselves into Moses, in the cloud, and in the sea;
3 Vose vakadya zvokudya zvimwe chete zvoMweya
And, all, did eat [the same] spiritual food,
4 uye vose vakanwa zvokunwa zvimwe chete zvomweya; nokuti vakanwa kubva padombo romweya rakafamba navo, uye dombo iri raiva Kristu.
And, all, drank, the same spiritual drink, —for they continued to drink of the spiritual rock that followed them, and, the rock, was the Christ: —
5 Kunyange zvakadaro, Mwari haana kufadzwa navazhinji vavo; mitumbi yavo yakaparadzirwa murenje.
Nevertheless, with the most of them, God, was not well-pleased, for they were strewed along in the desert.
6 Zvino, zvinhu izvi zvakanga zviri semienzaniso kwatiri, kuti tirege kuisa mwoyo yedu pazvinhu zvakaipa sezvavakaita.
But, in these things, they became, ensamples for us, to the end we should not be covetous of evil things, even as, they, also coveted;
7 Musanamata zvifananidzo, sezvakaita vamwe vavo; sezvazvakanyorwa zvichinzi: “Vanhu vakagara pasi vakadya, vakanwa, uye vakasimuka kuti vatambe.”
Neither become ye, idolaters, as some of them, —as it is written—The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to be making sport;
8 Hatifaniri kuita upombwe, sezvakaita vamwe vavo, uye vakafa zviuru makumi maviri nezvitatu muzuva rimwe chete.
Neither let us commit fornication, as, some of them, committed fornication, and there fell, in one day, three and twenty thousand;
9 Hatifaniri kuedza Ishe, sezvakaita vamwe vavo, uye vakaurayiwa nenyoka.
Neither let us be putting the Lord to the test, as, some of them, put him to the test, and, by the serpents, were perishing;
10 Uye murege kugununʼuna sezvakaita vamwe vavo, uye vakazourayiwa nomutumwa wokuparadza.
Neither be ye murmuring, even, as some of them, murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
11 Zvinhu izvi zvakaitika kwavari semienzaniso kwatiri uye zvikanyorwa kuti zvive yambiro kwatiri, iyesu takasvikirwa nokuzadziswa kwokuguma kwenyika. (aiōn )
But, these things, by way of type, were happening unto them, and were written with a view to our admonition, unto whom, the ends of the ages, have reached along. (aiōn )
12 Saka, kana uchifunga kuti wakamira zvakasimba, chenjera kuti urege kuwa!
So that, he that thinketh he is standing, let him take heed lest he fall.
13 Hakuna muedzo wakakuwirai imi, kunze kwaiwo unowira munhu wose. Uye Mwari akatendeka, haangatenderi kuti muedzwe kupfuura pamunogona napo. Asi kana muchiedzwa, iye achakupai nzira yokubuda nayo kuti mugone kutsunga pairi.
Trial, hath not taken you, save such as man can bear; faithful, moreover is God, who will not suffer you to be tried above what ye are able, but will make, with the trial, also the way of escape, that ye may be able to hold out.
14 Naizvozvo, shamwari dzangu dzinodikanwa, tizai kunamata zvifananidzo.
Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry, —
15 Ndiri kutaura kuvanhu vakachenjera; zvitongerei pachenyu pane zvandinotaura.
As, to prudent men, I speak, —judge, ye, what I say: —
16 Ko, mukombe wokuvonga watinovonga, hakuzi kusangana neropa raKristu here? Uye chingwa chatinomedura, hakuzi kusangana nomuviri waKristu here?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not, a sharing together of the blood of the Christ? The loaf which we break, is it not, a sharing together of the body of the Christ?
17 Nokuti pane chingwa chimwe chete, isu vazhinji tiri muviri mumwe, nokuti tinogovana tose pachingwa chimwe.
Because, one loaf, one body, we, the many, are, for we, all, of the one loaf, partake.
18 Cherechedzai vanhu veIsraeri: Ko, avo vanodya zvibayiro havagovani nearitari here?
Be looking at Israel after the flesh: —are not, they who eat the sacrifices, joint partakers with the altar?
19 Ko, ndinoreva kuti chibayiro chinobayirwa chifananidzo chinhu here, kana kuti chifananidzo chinhu here?
What, then, am I saying?—that, an idol-sacrifice, is anything? or that, an idol, is anything?
20 Kwete, asi zvibayiro zvavahedheni zvinopiwa kumadhimoni kwete kuna Mwari, uye ini handidi kuti mugovane namadhimoni.
On the contrary—that, the things which the nations sacrifice, unto demons, and not unto God, they sacrifice; and I wish not that ye should become, sharers together with the demons!
21 Hamunganwi mukombe waShe uye nomukombe wamadhimoniwo; hamungavi nomugove patafura yaShe uye napatafura yamadhimoni.
Ye cannot be drinking—a cup of the Lord, and a cup of demons; ye cannot be partaking of, a table of the Lord, and a table of demons.
22 Tiri kuedza kumutsa godo raShe here? Takasimba kupfuura iye here?
Or are we to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we mightier than he?
23 Zvinhu zvose zvinotenderwa, asi hazvisi zvose zvinobatsira. Zvinhu zvose zvinotenderwa, asi hazvisi zvose zvinovaka.
All things are allowable—but, not all things, are profitable, —all things are allowable—but, not all things, upbuild.
24 Munhu ngaarege kutsvaka zvakamunakira iye, asi zvakanakira vamwe.
Let, no one, be seeking, what concerneth himself, but that which concerneth some one else.
25 Idyai zvose zvinotengeswa pamusika wenyama musingabvunzi chinhu nokuda kwehana,
Whatsoever, in the market, is sold, eat, —asking no question, for conscience sake;
26 nokuti, “Nyika ndeyaShe, nokuzara kwayo.”
For, unto the Lord, belongeth the earth, and the fullness thereof.
27 Kana mumwe asingatendi akakukoka kuzodya, uye kana uchida kuenda, udye zvose zvinenge zvaiswa pamberi pako usingabvunzi mubvunzo nokuda kwehana.
If one of them who believe not invite you, and ye are disposed to go, whatsoever is set before you, eat, —asking no question, for conscience sake.
28 Asi kana mumwe akati kwauri, “Ichi chipiriso chakabayirwa,” rega kudya, nokuda kwaiye akuratidza, uye nokuda kwehana,
But, if anyone should say unto you, —This, is, a holy sacrifice, do not eat, for that man’s sake who disclosed it, and for conscience sake: —
29 ndinoreva hana yomumwe, kwete yako. Nokuti kusununguka kwangu kungatongerweiko nehana yomumwe?
But, conscience, I mean, not thine own, but the other’s, —for why is my freedom to be judged by another’s conscience?
30 Kana ini ndichidya ndavonga, ndingagotukirweiko nokuda kwechinhu chandavonga Mwari pamusoro pacho?
If, I, with gratitude, partake, why am I to be defamed, as to that for which, I, give thanks?
31 Naizvozvo, kunyange muchidya kana kunwa, chinhu chipi nechipi chamungaita, itai zvose kuti Mwari agokudzwa.
Whether, therefore, ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do, all things to the glory of God.
32 Musagumbusa munhu upi noupi zvake, angava muJudha, kana muGiriki kana kereke yaMwari,
Give no occasion of stumbling—whether to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God:
33 kunyange sezvandinoedzawo kufadza munhu wose pazvinhu zvose. Nokuti handitsvaki zvakandinakira ini asi zvakanakira vazhinji, kuitira kuti vagoponeswa.
Even as, I also, in all things do please all, not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.
