1 VaIsraeri vose vakaungana kuna Dhavhidhi paHebhuroni vakati, “Isu tiri nyama yenyu neropa renyu.
Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
2 Kare kunyange Sauro paaiva mambo ndimi maitungamirira Israeri kundorwa. Uye Jehovha Mwari wenyu akati kwamuri, ‘Uchafudza vanhu vangu vaIsraeri uye uchava mutongi wavo.’”
In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. The LORD your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”
3 Vakuru vose veIsraeri pavakauya kuna mambo Dhavhidhi paHebhuroni, akaita sungano navo paHebhuroni pamberi paJehovha, uye vakazodza Dhavhidhi kuti ave mambo weIsraeri sezvakanga zvavimbiswa naJehovha kubudikidza naSamueri.
So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD. They anointed David king over Israel, according to the LORD’s word by Samuel.
4 Dhavhidhi navaIsraeri vose vakaenda kuJerusarema (ndiro Jebhusi). VaJebhusi vaigaramo
David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (also called Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
5 vakati kuna Dhavhidhi, “Hamusi kuzopinda muno.” Kunyange zvakadaro Dhavhidhi akatapa nhare yeZioni, Guta raDhavhidhi.
The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David’s city.
6 Dhavhidhi akanga ati, “Achatungamirira kundorwisa vaJebhusi ndiye achava mukuru wavarwi.” Joabhu mwanakomana waZeruya ndiye akatanga kuenda, saka akapiwa utungamiri hwacho.
David had said, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.” Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
7 Dhavhidhi akagara munhare yeZioni, saka rakazodaidzwa kuti Guta raDhavhidhi.
David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it David’s city.
8 Akavaka guta richipoteredza, kubva pamihomba yokutsigira kusvikira kurusvingo rwakanga rwakapoteredza, Joabhu achivaka patsva chimwe chikamu chose cheguta.
He built the city all around, from Millo even around; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 Uye Dhavhidhi akaramba achiva nesimba guru nokuti Jehovha Wamasimba Ose aiva naye.
David grew greater and greater, for the LORD of Armies was with him.
10 Ava ndivo vaiva vakuru pakati pavarume voumhare vaiva naDhavhidhi, avo pamwe chete neIsraeri yose, vakatsigira umambo hwake zvakasimba kuti husvike munyika yose sokuvimbisa kwakanga kwaita Jehovha.
Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the LORD’s word concerning Israel.
11 Aya ndiwo mazita avarume voumhare vaiva naDhavhidhi: Jashobheami, muHakimoni, aiva mukuru wamachinda ehondo; akasimudza pfumo rake akarwa navarume mazana matatu, avo vaakauraya pakurwisana panguva imwe chete.
This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.
12 Aimutevera ainzi Ereazari mwanakomana waDhodhai muAhohi mumwe wavarume voumhare vatatu.
After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Aiva naDhavhidhi paPasi Dhamimi vaFiristia pavakaungana ipapo kuzorwa. Pane imwe nzvimbo paiva nomunda wakanga uzere nebhari, varwi vakatiza vaFiristia.
He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14 Asi ivo vakaramba vamire pakati pomunda vakaurwira vakauraya vaFiristia uye Jehovha akaita kuti vakunde nokukunda kukuru.
They stood in the middle of the plot, defended it, and killed the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great victory.
15 Vatatu pakati pamakumi matatu avakuru vakaburukira kuna Dhavhidhi kuDombo pabako reAdhurami, uye hondo yavaFiristia yakanga yadzika matende muMupata weRefaimi.
Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 Panguva iyoyo Dhavhidhi akanga ari munhare, uye boka rehondo yavaFiristia rakanga riri paBheterehema.
David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was in Bethlehem at that time.
17 Dhavhidhi akanzwa nyota akati, “Haiwa, dai mumwe munhu ainondicherera mvura yokunwa kubva mutsime riri pedyo nesuo reBheterehema!”
David longed, and said, “Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”
18 Saka Vatatu ava vakapinda napakati pehondo dzavaFiristia, vakachera mvura kubva mutsime raiva pedyo nesuo reBheterehema vakaenda nayo kuna Dhavhidhi. Asi akaramba kuinwa akaidururira pasi pamberi paJehovha.
The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink any of it, but poured it out to the LORD,
19 Dhavhidhi akati, “Mwari ngaandidzivise ndiregere kunwa izvi! Ndinganwa here ropa ravarume ava vaenda vachiisa upenyu hwavo panjodzi?” Nokuti vakaisa upenyu hwavo panjodzi kuti vadzoke vanayo, Dhavhidhi akaramba kuinwa. Aya ndiwo mamwe amabasa okukunda akaitwa navarume voumhare vatatu.
and said, “My God forbid me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.
20 Abhishai mununʼuna waJoabhu akanga ari mukuru waVatatu Ava. Akasimudza pfumo rake kuti arwise varume mazana matatu, akavauraya, uye akava nomukurumbira saVatatu Vaya.
Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name amongst the three.
21 Akaremekedzwa zvakapetwa kaviri pamusoro paVatatu Vaya uye akaitwa mutungamiri wavo, kunyange zvazvo akanga asina kuverengerwa pakati pavo.
Of the three, he was more honourable than the two, and was made their captain; however he wasn’t included in the three.
22 Bhenaya mwanakomana waJehoyadha aiva murwi woumhare aibva kuKabhizeeri, akaita mabasa makuru. Akauraya mhare mbiri dzapamusoro dzavaMoabhu. Akapindawo mugomba mumwe musi kuine chando akauraya shumba.
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day.
23 Uye akauraya muIjipita akanga akareba makubhiti mashanu. Kunyange zvazvo muIjipita akanga akapakata pfumo rainge tsvimbo yomuruki muruoko rwake, Bhenaya akamurwisa netsvimbo. Akabvuta pfumo kubva muruoko rwomuIjipita akamuuraya nepfumo rake.
He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high. In the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
24 Aya ndiwo aiva mabasa aBhenaya mwanakomana waJehoyadha; naiyewo akaita mukurumbira savarume vatatu voumhare.
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things and had a name amongst the three mighty men.
25 Akakudzwa nokuremekedzwa kukuru kupfuura Vaya Makumi Matatu, asi akanga asiri pakati paVatatu Vaya. Uye Dhavhidhi akamuita mutariri wavarindi vake.
Behold, he was more honourable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three; and David set him over his guard.
26 Varume voumhare vaiva: Asaheri mununʼuna waJoabhu, Erihanani mwanakomana waDhodho aibva kuBheterehema.
The mighty men of the armies also include Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
28 Ira mwanakomana waIkeshi aibva kuTekoa, Abhiezeri aibva kuAnatoti,
Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,
29 Sibhekai muHushati, Irai muAhohi,
Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
30 Maharai muNetofati, Heredhi mwanakomana waBhaana muNetofati,
Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
31 Itai mwanakomana waRibhai aibva kuGibhea muBhenjamini, Bhenaya muPiratoni,
Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
32 Hurai aibva kuhova dzeGaashi, Abhieri muAribhati,
Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
33 Azimavheti muBhaharumi, Eriabha muShaaribhoni,
Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,
34 vanakomana vaHashemi muGizoni, Jonatani mwanakomana waShage muHarari,
the sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shagee the Hararite,
35 Ahiami mwanakomana waSaka muHarari, Erifari mwanakomana waUri,
Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
36 Heferi muMekerati, Ahija muPeroni,
Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,
37 Heziro muKarimeri, Naarai mwanakomana waEzibhai,
Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,
38 Joere mununʼuna waNatani, Mibha mwanakomana waHagiri,
Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri,
39 Zereki muAmoni, Naharai muBheroti, mubati wenhumbi dzokurwa nadzo dzaJoabhu mwanakomana waZeruya,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite (the armour bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah),
40 Ira muItiri, Garebhi muItiri,
Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
41 Uria muHiti, Zabhadhi mwanakomana waArai,
Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,
42 Adhina mwanakomana waShiza muRubheni iye aiva mukuru wavaRubheni, navaya makumi matatu, vaaiva navo,
Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite (a chief of the Reubenites), and thirty with him,
43 Hanani mwanakomana waMaaka, Joshafati muMitini,
Hanan the son of Maacah, Joshaphat the Mithnite,
44 Uzia muAshiterati, Shama naJeyeri vanakomana vaHotamu muAroeri,
Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite,
45 Jedhieri mwanakomana waShimiri, mununʼuna wake Joha muTizi,
Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,
46 Erieri muMahavhi, Jeribhai naJoshavhia vanakomana vaErinaami, Itima muMoabhu,
Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
47 Erieri, Obhedhi naJaasieri muMezobhai.
Eliel, Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
