2 Mme Setefane a araba ka boleele a re, “Mo-dimo o o galalelang o ne wa iponatsa mo go rraetsho Aberahame mo Iraka pele ga a ya kwa Seria,
And he was speaking: Men brothers and fathers, do listen. The God of glory appeared to the father of us Abraham being in Mesopotamia before than dwelling of his in Haran,

And not He did give to him an inheritance in it not even [give] [the] length of a foot but He promised to give to him for a possession it and to the descendants of him after him, not there being to him a child.
Spoke however (thus *NK(O)*) God that will be the seed of him a sojourner in a land strange and they will enslave it and they will mistreat [it] years four hundred.

And the nation to which (then *NK(o)*) (they will be in bondage, *N(k)O*) will judge I myself, God said and after these things they will come forth and they will serve Me in place this.’
And He gave to him [the] covenant of circumcision; and thus he begat Isaac and circumcised him on the day eighth, and (*k*) Isaac Jacob, and (*k*) Jacob the twelve patriarchs.
9 Mme batho ba, ba ne ba fufegela Josefa thata ba bo ba mo rekisa go ya go nna motlhanka kwa Egepeto. Mme Modimo o ne wa nna nae,
And the patriarchs having envied Joseph sold [him] into Egypt; But was God with him
Gape Modimo wa naya Josefa botlhale jo bogolo, mo Farwe o ileng a mo tlhopha go nna molaodi mo Egepeto yotlhe, a bo a mmaya motlhokomedi wa ditiro tsotlhe tsa segosi.
and rescued him out of all the tribulations of him and gave to him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt and he appointed him ruler over Egypt and (over *n*) all the house of him.
11 “Mme ga nna leuba mo Egepeto le Kanana, mme ga nna le bohutsana jo bogolo mo go borraetsho. Erile fa dijo tsa bone di setse di fedile,
Came then a famine upon all the (land *k*) (of Egypt *N(k)O*) and Canaan and affliction great and not were finding sustenance the fathers of us.
12 Jakobe a utlwa fa go sa ntse go na le mabele kwa Egepeto, jalo a romela bomorwawe go ya go a reka.
Having heard now Jacob [there] is (grain in Egypt *N(k)O*) he sent forth the fathers of us first,
13 Erile fa ba ya labobedi, Josefa a itshenolela bomogolowe, mme ba itsisiwe Farwe.
and on the second time (was recognised by *NK(o)*) Joseph the to brothers of him, and known became to Pharaoh the family (of Joseph. *NK(O)*)
14 “Mme Josefa a romela bangwe go ya go tsaya rraagwe ebong Jakobe le ba malwapa a bomogolowe botlhe go tla Egepeto, botlhe e ne e le batho ba le masome a supa le botlhano.
Having sent then Joseph he called for Jacob the father of him and all the kindred (of him *k*) in all souls seventy five.
15 Jalo Jakobe a tla Egepeto, kwa o neng a swela teng, le bana botlhe ba gagwe.
(And *no*) went down (now *ko*) Jacob into Egypt and died he himself and the fathers of us
16 Mme botlhe ba ne ba isiwa kwa Shekema ba fitlhwa mo lebitleng le Aberahame o neng a le rekile mo go bomorwa Hamore, rraagwe Shekema.
and they were carried over into Shechem and were placed in the tomb (which *N(k)O*) bought Abraham for a sum of silver from the sons of Hamor (in *N(k)O*) Shechem.
17 Mme erile fa nako e atamela e Modimo o neng o tlaa diragatsa tsholofetso ya one mo go Aberahame go golola bana ba gagwe mo botlhankeng, Bajuta ba ntsifala thata mo Egepeto; mme ga tlhongwa kgosi e e neng e sena tlotlo mo segopotsong sa ga Josefa.
Even as now was drawing near the time of the promise that (he agreed *N(K)O*) God to Abraham, increased the people and multiplied in Egypt
until that there arose king another (over Egypt *NO*) who not knew Joseph.
He having dealt treacherously with the race of us he mistreated the fathers of us making [them] the infants abandon of them unto the not to be given life.
20 “Mme ka nako eo Moshe a tsalwa, ngwana yo o neng a bonala a na le bontle jwa Se-Modimo. Batsadi ba gagwe ba mo fitlha mo lwapeng se-lekanyo sa dikgwedi tse tharo,
In that time was born Moses and he was beautiful to God; who was brought up months three in the house of the father (of him; *k*)
21 mme ya re kwa bofelong ba sa tlhole ba kgona go mo fitlha, ebile ba tshwanelwa ke go mo latlha, morwadia Farwe a mmona mme a mo ikgodisetsa e le ngwana wa gagwe,
(When was being exposed *N(k)O*) then (he *N(k)O*) took up him the daughter of Pharaoh and brought up him for herself for a son.
And was instructed Moses (in *no*) all [the] wisdom of [the] Egyptians; he was now mighty in words and (in *k*) deeds (of him. *no*)
23 “Mme erile letsatsi lengwe fa a atamela bo-tsalo jwa letsatsi la gagwe la dingwaga tse di masome a mane, a tlelwa ke mogopolo wa go etela ba ga gabo, batho ba Iseraele.
When then was fulfilled to him of forty years a period, it came into the mind of him to visit the brothers of him the sons of Israel.
24 Mo loetong lo a bona Moegepeto a sotla Moiseraele. Jalo Moshe a bolaya Moegepeto.
And having seen a certain one being wronged he defended [him] and he did vengeance for the [one] being oppressed having struck down the Egyptian.
25 Moshe o ne a gopola gore ba ga gabo ba tlaa lemoga gore Modimo o mo rometse go tla go ba thusa, mme ba se ka ba lemoga.
He was supposing now to understand the brothers of him that God through [the] hand of him is giving salvation to them; but not they understood.
26 “Ka letsatsi le le latelang a ba etela gape mme a fitlhela banna ba le babedi ba Baiseraele ba lwa. Mme a leka go ba letlanya a re ‘Banna, lo bana ba monna ga lo a tshwanela go lwa jaana! Ga go a siama.’
On the and following day he appeared to those who were quarreling and (was reconciling *N(K)O*) them to peace having said: Men, brothers are (you yourselves; *k*) why why wrong one another?
27 “Mme monna yo o molato a raya Moshe a re, ‘Re tlhokomologe o tlhokomele tsa gago. Ke mang yo o go beileng molaodi le moatlhodi mo go rona?’
The [one] however mistreating the neighbour pushed away him having said; Who you appointed ruler and judge over (us? *N(k)O*)
28 A o rata go mpolaya jaaka o bolaile Moegepeto yole maabane?
Surely not to execute me you yourself desire [the] same way you executed yesterday the Egyptian?’
Fled then Moses at remark this and became exiled in [the] land of Midian, where he begat sons two.
And when were passing years forty appeared to him in the wilderness of the Mount Sinai an angel (of [the] Lord *K*) in a flame of fire of a bush.
31 Moshe a bona tiragalo e, mme a hakgamala gore ke eng, mme ya re a sianela go ya go bona, lentswe la Morena la bua nae le re,
And Moses having seen [it] was marvelling at the vision; When is approaching then he to behold [it], there was [the] voice of [the] Lord (to him: *K*)
32 ‘Ke Modimo wa bo-rraeno mogolwagolwane, Modimo wa ga Aberahame, Isake le Jakobe!’ Moshe a roroma ka poifo e kgolo mme a se ka a batla go leba.
I myself [am] the God of the Fathers of you, the God of Abraham and (the God *k*) of Isaac and (the God *k*) of Jacob.’ Terrified then having become Moses not he was daring to look.
33 “Mme Morena a mo raya a re, ‘Rola ditlhako tsa gago, gonne o eme mo mmung o o boitshepo.
Said then to him the Lord; do take off the sandal of the feet of you; for the place (on *N(k)O*) which you have stood ground holy is.
34 Ke bonye kutlobotlhoko ya batho ba me ba ba kwa Egepeto ebile ke utlwile selelo sa bone. Ke tsile go ba golola. Tla, ke tlaa go romela kwa Egepeto.’
Having seen I saw the oppression of the people of Mine in Egypt and the groans (of them *NK(o)*) I have heard; and I have come down to deliver them; and now come (I may send *N(k)O*) you to Egypt.’
35 “Mme jalo Modimo wa romela ene tota motho yo ba ga bone ba kileng ba mo gana ka go mo raya ba re, ‘Ke mang yo o go beileng molaodi le moatlhodi mo go rona?’ Moshe o ne a rometswe go ya go nna molaodi le mmoloki wa bone.
This Moses whom they rejected having said; Who you appointed ruler and judge?’ — him [whom] God [as] (and *no*) ruler and redeemer (has sent by *N(k)O*) [the] hand of [the] angel who having appeared to him in the bush.
36 Mme ka dikgakgamatso tse dintsi a ba ntsha mo Egepeto a ba kgabagantsha Lewatle le le Hibidu, a bo a ba ralatsa sekaka selekanyo sa dingwaga di le masome a mane.
this one led out them having done wonders and signs in ([the] land of *NK(o)*) (Egypt *N(k)O*) and in [the] Red Sea and in the wilderness years forty.
37 “Moshe ka boene o ne a raya batho ba Iseraele a re, ‘Modimo o tlaa tsosa moporofiti yo o tshwanang le nna mo gare ga bo-morwa rraa lona.’
This is the Moses having said to the sons of Israel; A prophet for you will raise up ([the] Lord *K*) God (of you *K(O)*) out from the brothers of you like me myself (of him you will listen to. *K*)
This is the [one] having been in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who is speaking to him in the Mount Sinai and of the fathers of us who received (oracles *NK(O)*) living to give (to us; *NK(O)*)
39 “Mme borraetsho ba ne ba gana Moshe, ba batla go boela kwa Egepeto.
to whom not wanted obedient to be the fathers of us, but they thrust away and they turned back (in *no*) (the hearts *NK(o)*) of them to Egypt,
40 “Ba raya Arone ba re, ‘Re direle medimo ya disetwa, gore re tle re nne le medimo e e re etelelang pele go boela kwa morago; gonne ga re itse gore go rileng kaga Moshe yo o re ntshitseng mo Egepeto.’
having said to Aaron; do make us gods who will go before us; As for Moses this who brought out us from [the] land of Egypt, not we know what (happened *N(k)O*) to him.’
41 Mme ba dira modimo wa namane mme ba o ntshetsa ditlhabelo, mme ba itumelela selo se, se ba se dirileng.
And they made a calf in the days those and offered a sacrifice to the idol and they were rejoicing in the works of the hands of them.
Turned away however God and delivered them to worship the host of heaven, even as it has been written in [the] book of the prophets: Not slain beasts and sacrifices did you offer to Me years forty in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
Jalo ke tlaa go isa botshwarong kgakala go feta Babelone.’
And You took up the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of the god of you Rephan, the images that you made to worship them; and I will remove you beyond Babylon.’
Mo teng ga one ba ne ba beile matlapa a go neng go kwadilwe Melao e e Lesome mo go one. Kago e, e ne e agilwe fela ka thulaganyo e Moshe o neng a e kaetswe ke moengele.
The tabernacle of the testimony was (among *K*) the fathers of us in the wilderness, even as had commanded the [One] speaking to Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;
45 Erile morago ga dingwaga, fa Joshua a eteletse pele dintwa kgatlhanong le Badichaba, Motlaagana o ba tsena nao mo lefatsheng le lesha, mme wa dirisiwa go fitlhelela mo lobakeng lwa ga Kgosi Dafide.
which also brought [it] having received by succession the fathers of us with Joshua in the taking possession of the nations whom drove out God from [the] face of the fathers of us until the days of David;
46 “Modimo o ne wa segofatsa Dafide a kopa tetlelelo ya go agela Modimo wa ga Jakobe Tempele e e siameng.
who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling place for the (house *N(K)O*) of Jacob.
Solomon however built for Him [the] house.
Morena o bua ka baporofiti jaana a re, ‘Legodimo ke setilo sa me sa bogosi, mme lefatshe ke sebeo sa dinao tsa me’. Morena o botsa jaana a re, ‘Lo ka nkagela ntlo e e ntseng jang? A ke ka nna mo go yone?
Yet not the Most High in hand-made (temples *K*) dwells, Even as the prophet says:
Heaven [is] to Me a throne, (and *NK(o)*) the earth a footstool of the feet of Mine; What kind of house will you build Me? says [the] Lord, or what [is] [the] place of the rest of Mine?
50 A ga ke a dira legodimo le lefatshe?’
Surely the hand of Mine has made these things all?’
A lo tshwanetse go ganetsa Mowa O O Boitshepo ka bosakhutleng? Mme borraalona ba ne ba dira jalo, a le lona lo dira jalo!
Stiff-necked and uncircumcised (in the *k(o)*) (hearts *N(k)O*) (of you *o*) and in ears, you yourselves always the Spirit Holy resist, as the fathers of you also you;
52 Bolelang moporofiti mongwe yo borralona ba iseng ba ke ba mmogise!
Which of the prophets not did persecute the fathers of you? And they killed those having foretold about the coming of the Righteous One, of whom now you yourselves betrayers and murderers (have become; *N(k)O*)
who received the law by [the] ordination of angels and not kept [it].
54 Mme baeteledipele ba Sejuta ba tenwa thata ke go omanngwa ke Setefane ba bo ba mo shenela meno ka kgakalo.
Hearing now these things they felt cut up in the hearts of them and were gnashing the teeth at him.
55 Mme Setefane, a tletse Mowa O O Boitshepo, a leba ka iketlo kwa legodimong, a bona kgalalelo ya Modimo le Jesu a ntse ka fa letsogong le legolo la Modimo.
He being however full of [the] Spirit Holy, having looked intently into heaven saw [the] glory of God and Jesus already standing at [the] right hand of God
56 Mme a ba raya a re, “Bonang, ke bona legodimo le bulegile mme Jesu Mesia a eme fa thoko ga Modimo, ka fa letsogong la one le legolo!”
and he said; Behold I see the heavens (opened up *N(k)O*) and the Son of Man at [the] right [hand] already standing of God.
57 Mme ba mo gagautlha, ba ikaba ditsebe, ba tima lentswe la gagwe ka go goa thata,
Having cried out then in a voice loud they held the ears of them and rushed with one accord upon him;
58 mme ba mo gogela kwa ntle ga motse go ya go mo kgobotletsa ka matlapa.
and having cast [him] out of the city they were stoning [him]. And the witnesses laid aside the garments of them at the feet of a young man named Saul
59 Mme erile fa babolai ba mo kgobotletsa ka maje, Setefane a rapela a re, “Morena Jesu, amogela Mowa wa me.”
And [as] they were stoning Stephen he was calling out and saying; Lord Jesus, do receive the spirit of mine.
60 Mme a wela fa fatshe ka mangole, a goa a re, “Morena o se ka wa ba bona molato ka ntlha ya boleo jo!” Mme ka mafoko ao, a swa.
Having fallen then on [his] knees he cried in a voice loud; Lord, not may place to them this sin. And this having said he fell asleep.
