Псалми 76

1 Зна се у Јудеји за Бога, у Израиља је велико име Његово.

In Judah God is known. His name is great in Israel.

2 У Салиму је стан Његов и насеље Његово на Сиону.

In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling-place in Zion.

3 Онде је поломио крилате стреле луку, штит и мач и рат.

There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Selah)

4 Ти си светао; дивнији од гора хајдучких.

Thou are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5 Који су јуначког срца посташе плен, заспаше сном својим, и јунаци не нађоше руку својих.

The stouthearted are made a spoil. They have slept their sleep, and none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 Од претње Твоје, Боже Јаковљев, дремљу кола и коњ.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.

7 Ти си страшан, и ко ће се одржати пред лицем Твојим кад се разгневиш?

Thou, even thou, are to be feared. And who may stand in thy sight when once thou are angry?

8 С неба јављаш суд; земља се препада и ћути,

Thou caused sentence to be heard from heaven. The earth feared and was still

9 Кад Бог устаје на суд, да помогне свима који страдају на земљи.

when God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. (Selah)

10 И гнев људски обраћа се у славу Теби, кад се једном опашеш гневом.

Surely the inward thought of man shall praise thee, even the residue of inward thought will observe a festival to thee.

11 Полажите и извршујте завете Господу Богу свом; сви који сте око Њега, носите даре Страшноме.

Vow, and pay to Jehovah your God. Let all who are round about him bring presents to him who ought to be feared.

12 Он укроћава дух кнезовима, Он је страшан царевима земаљским.

He will cut off the spirit of rulers. He is fearful to the kings of the earth.
