Приче Соломонове 8
1 Не виче ли мудрост? И разум не пушта ли глас свој?
Doth not wisdom cry aloud, And understanding put forth her voice?
2 Наврх висина, на путу, на распутицама стоји,
Upon the top of the high places, By the wayside, In the cross-ways, She taketh her station.
3 Код врата, на уласку у град, где се отварају врата, виче:
By the side of the gates, In the entrance of the city, In the approaches to the doors, she crieth aloud.
4 Вас вичем, о људи, и глас свој обраћам к синовима људским.
“To you, O men! do I call, And my voice is to the sons of men!
5 Научите се луди мудрости, и безумни оразумите се.
O ye simple ones! learn wisdom, And ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart!
6 Слушајте, јер ћу говорити велике ствари, и усне моје отварајући се казиваће шта је право.
Hear, for I speak excellent things, And my lips utter that which is right.
7 Јер уста моја говоре истину, и мрска је уснама мојим безбожност.
For my mouth speaketh truth, And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 Праве су све речи уста мојих, ништа нема у њима криво ни изопачено.
All the words of my mouth are in uprightness; There is nothing crooked or deceitful in them;
9 Све су обичне разумном и праве су онима који налазе знање.
They are all plain to the man of understanding, And right to those who find knowledge.
10 Примите наставу моју, а не сребро, и знање радије него најбоље злато.
Receive my instruction, and not silver. And knowledge rather than choice gold!
11 Јер је боља мудрост од драгог камења, и шта је год најмилијих ствари не могу се изједначити с њом.
For wisdom is better than pearls, And no precious things are to be compared with her.
12 Ја мудрост боравим с разборитошћу, и разумно знање налазим.
“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out the knowledge of sagacious counsels.
13 Страх је Господњи мржња на зло; ја мрзим на поноситост и на охолост и на зли пут и на уста опака.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, And the deceitful mouth, do I hate.
14 Мој је савет и шта год јесте; ја сам разум и моја је сила.
Counsel is mine, and sound reason; I am understanding; I have strength.
15 Мном цареви царују, и владаоци постављају правду.
By me kings reign, And princes decree justice.
16 Мном владају кнезови и поглавари и све судије земаљске.
By me princes rule, And nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 Ја љубим оне који мене љубе, и који ме добро траже налазе ме.
I love them that love me, And they who seek me early shall find me.
18 У мене је богатство и слава, постојано добро и правда.
Riches and honor are with me; Yea, durable riches and prosperity.
19 Плод је мој бољи од злата и од најбољег злата, и добитак је мој бољи и од најбољег сребра.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold. And my revenue than choice silver.
20 Путем праведним ходим, посред стаза правице,
I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of equity.
21 Да онима који ме љубе дам оно што јесте, и ризнице њихове да напуним.
I cause those who love me to possess substance; Yea, I fill their treasuries.
22 Господ ме је имао у почетку пута свог, пре дела својих, пре сваког времена.
“The LORD created me, the firstling of his course, Before his works, of old;
23 Пре векова постављена сам, пре почетка, пре постања земље.
I was anointed from everlasting, From the beginning, even before the earth was made.
24 Кад још не беше бездана, родила сам се, кад још не беше извора обилатих водом.
When as yet there were no deeps, I was brought forth. When there were no springs, abounding with water.
25 Пре него се горе основаше, пре хумова ја сам се родила;
Before the mountains were settled, Yea, before the hills, I was brought forth;
26 Још не беше начинио земље ни поља ни почетка праху васиљенском;
Ere yet he had made the land and the wastes, And the first of the clods of the earth.
27 Кад је уређивао небеса, онде бејах; кад је размеравао круг над безданом.
When he framed the heavens, I was there; When he drew a circle upon the face of the deep;
28 Кад је утврђивао облаке горе и крепио изворе бездану;
When he made firm the sky above, And the fountains of the deep rushed forth;
29 Кад је постављао мору међу и водама да не преступају заповести Његове, кад је постављао темеље земљи;
When he gave to the sea its bounds, that the waters should not pass their border; When he marked out the foundations of the earth, —
30 Тада бејах код Њега храњеница, бејах Му милина сваки дан, и весељах се пред Њим свагда;
Then was I by him as a master-builder; I was his delight day by day, Exulting before him at all times;
31 Весељах се на васиљени Његовој, и милина ми је са синовима људским.
Exulting in the habitable part of his earth, And my delight was with the sons of men.
32 Тако, дакле, синови, послушајте ме, јер благо онима који се држе путева мојих.
“Now, therefore, ye children, hearken to me! For happy are they who keep my ways!
33 Слушајте наставу, и будите мудри, и немојте је одбацити.
Hear instruction, and be wise! Yea, reject it not!
34 Благо човеку који ме слуша стражећи на вратима мојим сваки дан и чувајући прагове врата мојих.
Happy the man who hearkeneth to me, Who watcheth day by day at my gates, Who waiteth at the posts of my doors;
35 Јер ко мене налази, налази живот и добија љубав од Господа.
For he that findeth me findeth life, And obtaineth favor from the LORD;
36 А ко о мене греши, чини криво души својој; сви који мрзе на ме, љубе смрт.
But he who misseth me doeth violence to himself; All they who hate me love death.”
