Приче Соломонове 4
1 Слушајте, децо, наставу очеву, и пазите да бисте познали мудрост.
Hear, you children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2 Јер вам добру науку дајем, не остављајте закон мој.
For I give you a good gift; forsake you not my law.
3 Кад бејах син у оца свог млад, и јединац у матере своје,
For I also was a son obedient to [my] father, and loved in the sight of [my] mother:
4 Он ме учаше и говораше ми: Нека прими срце твоје речи моје, држи заповести моје и бићеш жив.
who spoke and instructed me, [saying], Let our speech be fixed in your heart, keep [our] commandments, forget them not:
5 Прибави мудрост, прибави разум; не заборављај и не одступај од речи уста мојих.
and do not neglect the speech of my mouth.
6 Немој је оставити, и чуваће те, љуби је, и храниће те.
And forsake it not, and it shall cleave to you: love it, and it shall keep you.
7 Мудрост је главно; прибави мудрост, и за све имање своје прибави разум.
8 Подижи је и она ће те узвисити, прославиће те кад је загрлиш.
Secure it, and it shall exalt you: honor it, that it may embrace you;
9 Метнуће ти на главу венац од милина, красну круну даће ти.
that it may give to your head a crown of graces, and may cover you with a crown of delight.
10 Слушај, сине мој, и прими речи моје, и умножиће ти се године животу.
Hear, [my] son, and receive my words; and the years of your life shall be increased, that the resources of your life may be many.
11 Учим те путу мудрости, водим те стазама правим.
For I teach you the ways of wisdom; and I cause you to go in right paths.
12 Кад усходиш, неће се стезати кораци твоји, и ако потрчиш нећеш се спотакнути.
For when you go, your steps shall not be straitened; and when you run, you shall not be distressed.
13 Држи се наставе и не пуштај, чувај је, јер ти је живот.
Take hold of my instruction; let it not go, —but keep it for yourself for your life.
14 Не иди на стазу безбожничку и путем неваљалих људи не ступај.
Go not in the ways of the ungodly, neither covet the ways of transgressors.
15 Остави га, не ходи по њему, уклони се од њега и мини га.
In whatever place they shall pitch their camp, go not there; but turn from them, and pass away.
16 Јер не спавају ако не учине зла, и не долази им сан ако кога не оборе.
For they can’t sleep, unless they have done evil: their sleep is taken away, and they rest not.
17 Јер једу хлеб безбожности и пију вино насиља.
For these live upon the bread of ungodliness, and are drunken with wine of transgression.
18 А пут је праведнички као светло видело, које све већма светли док не буде прави дан.
But the ways of the righteous shine like light; they go on and shine, until the day be fully come.
19 А пут је безбожнички као мрак, не знају на шта ће се спотакнути.
But the ways of the ungodly are dark; they know not how they stumble.
20 Сине мој, слушај речи моје, пригни ухо своје беседи мојој.
[My] son, attend to my speech; and apply your ear to my words:
21 Да ти не одлазе из очију; чувај их усред срца свог.
that your fountains may not fail you; keep them in [your] heart.
22 Јер су живот онима који их налазе и здравље свему телу њиховом.
For they are life to those that find them, and health to all [their] flesh.
23 Сврх свега што се чува чувај срце своје, јер из њега излази живот.
Keep your heart with the utmost care; for out of these are the issues of life.
24 Уклони од уста својих опачину и од усана својих неваљалство удаљи.
Remove from you a froward mouth, and put far away from you unjust lips.
25 Очи твоје нека гледају управо и веђе твоје нека се управљају право пред тобом.
Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids assent [to] just [things].
26 Мери стазу ногама својим, и сви путеви твоји нека су поравњени.
Make straight paths for your feet, and order your ways aright.
27 Не сврћи ни надесно ни налево, одвраћај ногу своју ода зла.
Turn not aside to the right hand nor to the left, but turn away your foot from an evil way.
