Приче Соломонове 29
1 Човек који по карању остаје тврдоглав, уједанпут ће пропасти, да неће бити лека.
A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.
2 Кад се умножавају праведници, весели се народ; а кад влада безбожник, уздише народ.
When the righteous are in authoritie, the people reioyce: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.
3 Ко љуби мудрост, весели оца свог; а ко се дружи с курвама, расипа своје добро.
A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.
4 Цар правдом подиже земљу; а ко узима мито, сатире је.
A King by iudgement mainteineth ye countrey: but a man receiuing giftes, destroyeth it.
5 Ко ласка пријатељу свом, разапиње мрежу ногама његовим.
A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.
6 У греху је злог човека замка, а праведник пева и весели се.
In the transgression of an euill man is his snare: but the righteous doeth sing and reioyce.
7 Праведник разуме парбу невољних, а безбожник не мари да зна.
The righteous knoweth the cause of the poore: but the wicked regardeth not knowledge.
8 Подсмевачи распаљују град, а мудри утишавају гнев.
Scornefull men bring a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.
9 Мудар човек кад се пре с лудим, или се срдио или смејао, нема мира.
If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there is no rest.
10 Крвопије мрзе на безазленога, а прави се брину за душу његову.
Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.
11 Сав гнев свој излива безумник, а мудри уставља га натраг.
A foole powreth out all his minde: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterward.
12 Који кнез слуша лажне речи, све су му слуге безбожне.
Of a prince that hearkeneth to lyes, all his seruants are wicked.
13 Сиромах и који даје на добит сретају се; обојици Господ просветљује очи.
The poore and the vsurer meete together, and the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 Који цар право суди сиромасима, његов ће престо стајати довека.
A King that iudgeth the poore in trueth, his throne shalbe established for euer.
15 Прут и кар дају мудрост, а дете пусто срамоти матер своју.
The rodde and correction giue wisdome: but a childe set a libertie, maketh his mother ashamed.
16 Кад се умножавају безбожници, умножавају се греси, а праведници ће видети пропаст њихову.
When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but ye righteous shall see their fall.
17 Карај сина свог, и смириће те, и учиниће милину души твојој.
Correct thy sonne and he will giue thee rest, and will giue pleasures to thy soule.
18 Кад нема утваре, расипа се народ; а ко држи закон, благо њему!
Where there is no vision, the people decay: but he that keepeth the Lawe, is blessed.
19 Речима се не поправља слуга, јер ако и разуме, опет не слуша.
A seruant will not be chastised with words: though he vnderstand, yet he will not answere.
20 Јеси ли видео човека наглог у беседи својој? Више има надања од безумног него од њега.
Seest thou a man hastie in his matters? there is more hope of a foole, then of him.
21 Ако ко мази слугу од малена, он ће најпосле бити син.
He that delicately bringeth vp his seruant from youth, at length he will be euen as his sone.
22 Гневљив човек замеће свађу, и ко је напрасит, много греши.
An angrie man stirreth vp strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 Охолост понижује човека, а ко је смеран духом, добија славу.
The pride of a man shall bring him lowe: but the humble in spirit shall enioy glory.
24 Ко дели с лупежем, мрзи на своју душу, чује проклетство и не проказује.
He that is partner with a thiefe, hateth his owne soule: he heareth cursing, and declareth it not.
25 Страшљив човек меће себи замку; а ко се у Господа узда, биће у високом заклону.
The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.
26 Многи траже лице владаочево, али је од Господа суд свакоме.
Many doe seeke the face of the ruler: but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lord.
27 Праведнима је мрзак неправедник, а безбожнику је мрзак ко право ходи.
A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.
