1 А кад се сазида зид и наместих врата, и постављени бише вратари и певачи и Левити,
When the wall was finished and I had set up the doors in place, and the gatekeepers and singers and Levites had been appointed,
2 Заповедих Ананију, брату свом и Нананији заповеднику града јерусалимског, јер беше веран човек и бојаше се Бога више него многи,
I gave my brother Hanani charge over Jerusalem, along with Hananiah who had oversight of the fortress, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
3 И рекох им: Да се не отварају врата јерусалимска докле сунце не огреје, и кад они што стоје онде затворе врата, огледајте, и да се поставе стражари између становника јерусалимских, сваки на своју стражу и сваки према својој кући.
I said to them, “Do not open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are on guard, you may shut the doors and bar them. Appoint guards from those who live in Jerusalem, some at the place of their guard station, and some in front of their own homes.”
4 А град беше широк и велик, али народа беше мало у њему и куће не беху пограђене.
Now the city was wide and large, but there were few people within it, and no houses had yet been rebuilt.
5 И Бог мој даде ми у срце, те сабрах главаре и старешине и народ да се изброје по племенима. И нађох књигу, у којој беше препис оних који се вратише први пут; и нађох у њој записано:
My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, the officials, and the people to enroll them by their families. I found the book of the genealogy of those who returned at the first and found the following written in it.
6 Ово су људи из овог краја што се вратише из ропства између оних који бише пресељени, које пресели Навуходоносор, цар вавилонски, па се вратише у Јерусалим и у Јудеју, сваки у свој град,
“These are the people of the province who went up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon took into exile. They returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city.
7 Који дођоше са Зоровавељем, Исусом, Немијом, Азаријом, Рамијом, Наманијем, Мардохејем, Вилсаном, Мисперетом, Вигвајем, Неумом, Ваном; на број беше људи народа Израиљевог:
They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel included the following.
8 Синова Фаросових две хиљаде и сто и седамдесет и два;
The descendants of Parosh, 2,172.
9 Синова Сефатијиних триста и седамдесет и два;
The descendants of Shephatiah, 372.
10 Синова Арахових шест стотина и педесет и два;
The descendants of Arah, 652.
11 Синова Фат-Моавових, од синова Исусових и Јоавових две хиљаде и осам стотина и осамнаест;
The descendants of Pahath-Moab, through the descendants of Jeshua and Joab, 2,818.
12 Синова Еламових хиљада и двеста и педесет и четири;
The descendants of Elam, 1,254.
13 Синова Затујевих осам стотина и четрдесет и пет;
The descendants of Zattu, 845.
14 Синова Захајевих седам стотина и шездесет;
The descendants of Zakkai, 760.
15 Синова Винујевих шест стотина и четрдесет и осам;

16 Синова Вивајевих шест стотина и двадесет и осам;

the descendants of Bazluth, the descendants of Mehida, the descendants of Harsha,
55 Синова Варкосових, синова Сисариних, синова Таминих,
the descendants of Barkos, the descendants of Sisera, the descendants of Temah,
56 Синова Несијиних, синова Атифиних;
the descendants of Neziah, the descendants of Hatipha.
57 Синова слуга Соломунових: синова Сотајевих, синова Соферетових, синова Феридиних,
The descendants of Solomon's servants: the descendants of Sotai, the descendants of Sophereth, the descendants of Perida,
58 Синова Јалиних, синова Дарконових, синова Гидилових,
the descendants of Jaala, the descendants of Darkon, the descendants of Giddel,
59 Синова Сефатијиних, синова Атилових, синова Фохерета од Севојима, синова Амонових,
the descendants of Shephatiah, the descendants of Hattil, the descendants of Pochereth Hazzebaim, the descendants of Amon.
60 Свега Нетинеја и синова слуга Соломунових, триста и деведесет и два.
All the temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon's servants, were 392.
61 И ови дођоше из Тел-Мелеха и Тел-Арисе, Херув, Адон и Имир, али не могаше показати отачки дом свој и семе своје, еда ли су од Израиља,
These were the people who went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon, and Immer. But they could not prove that they or their ancestors' families were descendants from Israel:
62 И синови Делајини, синови Товијини, синови Некодини, њих шест стотина и четрдесет и два,
the descendants of Delaiah, the descendants of Tobiah, and the descendants of Nekoda, 642.
63 И од свештеника: синови Авајини, синови Акосови, синови Варзелаја, који се ожени између кћери Варзелаја Галађанина, те се прозва њиховим именом.
Those who were from the priests: the descendants of Habaiah, Hakkoz, and Barzillai (who took his wife from the daughters of Barzillai of Gilead and was called by their name).
64 Они тражише по књигама да би показали род свој, али се не нађе, зато бише одлучени од свештенства.
These sought their records among those enrolled by their genealogy, but they could not be found, so they were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.
65 И запрети им Тирсата да не једу од светиње над светињама докле не настане свештеник с Уримом и Тумимом.
Then the governor said to them that they should not be allowed to eat the priests' share of food from the sacrifices until there rose up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 Свега збора скупа беше четрдесет и две хиљаде и три стотине и шездесет,
The whole assembly together was 42,360,
67 Осим слуга њихових и слушкиња њихових, којих беше седам хиљада и три стотине и тридесет и седам; и међу њима беше певача и певачица двеста и четрдесет и пет;
besides their male servants and their female servants, of whom there were 7,337. They had 245 singing men and women.
68 Имаху седам стотина и тридесет и шест коња, две стотине и четрдесет и пет масака,
Their horses were 736 in number, their mules, 245,
69 Четри стотине и тридесет и пет камила, шест хиљада и седам стотина и двадесет магараца.
their camels, 435, and their donkeys, 6,720.
70 Тада неки између главара дома отачких приложише на посао. Тирсата даде у ризницу хиљаду драма злата, педесет чаша, шест стотина и тридесет хаљина свештеничких.
Some from among the heads of ancestors' families gave gifts for the work. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand darics of gold, 50 basins, and 530 priestly garments.
71 А главари домова отачких дадоше у ризницу за посао двадесет хиљада драма злата, и сребра две хиљаде и двеста мина.
Some of the heads of ancestors' families gave into the treasury for the work twenty thousand darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver.
72 А што даде остали народ беше двадесет хиљада драма злата, и две хиљаде мина сребра, и шездесет и седам хаљина свештеничких.
The rest of the people gave twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand minas of silver, and sixty-seven priestly garments.
73 И тако са населише свештеници и левити вратари и певачи и људи из народа и Нетинеји и сав Израиљ у својим градовима; и кад дође седми месец, синови Израиљеви беху у својим градовима.
So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel lived in their cities. By the seventh month the people of Israel were settled in their cities.”
