Књига о Јову 20
1 А Софар Намаћанин одговори и рече:
Then Zophar the Naamathite answered,
2 Зато ме мисли моје нагоне да одговорим, и зато хитим.
"Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.
3 Чуо сам укор који ме срамоти, али ће дух из разума мог одговорити за ме.
I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. The spirit of my understanding answers me.
4 Не знаш ли да је тако од како је века, од како је постављен човек на земљи.
Do you not know this from old time, since humankind was placed on earth,
5 Да је слава безбожних за мало и радост лицемерова за час?
that the triumphing of the wicked is short, the joy of the godless but for a moment?
6 Да би му висина допрла до неба, и глава се његова дотакла облака,
Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds,
7 Нестаће га за свагда као кала његовог; и који га видеше рећи ће: Куда се деде?
yet he shall perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him shall say, 'Where is he?'
8 Као сан одлетеће, и неће се наћи, и ишчезнуће као ноћна утвара.
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found. Yes, he shall be chased away like a vision of the night.
9 Око које га је гледало неће више, нити ће га више видети место његово.
The eye which saw him shall see him no more, neither shall his place any more see him.
10 Синови његови умиљаваће се сиромасима и руке ће његове враћати шта је отео.
His children shall seek the favor of the poor. His hands shall give back his wealth.
11 Кости ће његове бити пуне греха младости његове, и они ће лежати с њим у праху.
His bones are full of his youth, but youth shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 Ако му је слатка у устима злоћа и крије је под језиком својим,
"Though wickedness is sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue,
13 Чува је и не пушта је, него је задржава у грлу свом,
though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth;
14 Ипак ће се јело његово претворити у цревима његовим, постаће у њему јед аспидин.
yet his food in his bowels is turned. It is cobra venom within him.
15 Благо што је прождрао избљуваће, из трбуха његова истераће га Бог.
He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.
16 Јед ће аспидин сисати, убиће га језик гујињи.
He shall suck cobra venom. The viper's tongue shall kill him.
17 Неће видети потока ни река којима тече мед и масло.
He shall not look at the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.
18 Вратиће муку, а неће је појести; према благу биће промена, и неће се радовати.
That for which he labored he shall restore, and shall not swallow it down. According to the substance that he has gotten, he shall not rejoice.
19 Јер је тлачио и остављао убоге, куће је отимао и није зидао.
For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house, and he shall not build it up.
20 Јер није никада осетио мира у трбуху свом, ни шта му је најмилије неће сачувати.
"Because he knew no quietness within him, he shall not save anything of that in which he delights.
21 Ништа му неће остати од хране његове. Зато не може добро његово трајати.
There was nothing left that he did not devour, therefore his prosperity shall not endure.
22 Кад се испуни изобиље његово, тада ће бити у невољи; све руке невољних удариће на њ.
In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress shall overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery shall come on him.
23 Кад би напунио трбух свој, послаће на њ Бог јарост гнева свог, и пустиће је као дажд на њега и на јело његово.
When he is about to fill his belly, he will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.
24 Кад стане бежати од оружја гвозденог, прострелиће га лук бронзани.
He shall flee from the iron weapon. The bronze arrow shall strike him through.
25 Стрела пуштена проћи ће кроз тело његово, и светло гвожђе изаћи ће из жучи његове; кад пође, обузеће га страхоте.
He draws it forth, and it comes out of his body. Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. Terrors are on him.
26 Све ће таме бити сакривене у тајним местима његовим; прождреће га огањ нераспирен, и ко остане у шатору његовом зло ће му бити.
All darkness is laid up for his treasures. An unfanned fire shall devour him. It shall consume that which is left in his tent.
27 Откриће небеса безакоње његово, и земља ће устати на њ.
The heavens shall reveal his iniquity. The earth shall rise up against him.
28 Отићи ће летина дома његовог, расточиће се у дан гнева његовог.
The increase of his house shall depart. They shall rush away in the day of his wrath.
29 То је део од Бога човеку безбожном и наследство од Бога за беседу његову.
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God."
