Књига пророка Исаије 29
1 Тешко Арилу, Арилу, граду где је стајао Давид. Додајте годину на годину, нека кољу жртве празничне.
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, The city where David dwelt! Add year to year, Let the festivals go round,
2 Али ћу притеснити Арила, и биће жалост и туга, јер ће ми бити као Арил.
Then will I distress Ariel; Mourning and sorrow shall be there; Yet shall she be to me as Ariel [[the lion of God]].
3 Јер ћу те опколити војском, и стегнућу те опкопима и подигнућу супрот теби куле.
I will encamp against thee round about, And I will lay siege against thee with a mound, And I will raise towers against thee.
4 Те ћеш оборен говорити са земље и из праха ћеш муцати, и глас ће ти бити са земље као у бајача и из праха ћеш шапћући говорити.
Thou shalt be brought down, and speak from the ground, And thy speech shall be low from the dust; Thy voice shall be like that of a spirit under ground, And thy speech shall chirp as from the dust.
5 А мноштво непријатеља твојих биће као ситан прах и мноштво насилника као плева кад се размеће; и то ће бити зачас, изненада.
Yet shall the multitude of thine enemies be like fine dust; The multitude of the terrible like flying chaff; It shall take place suddenly, in a moment.
6 Господ над војскама походиће га громом и трусом и хуком великом, вихором и буром и пламеном огњеним који прождире.
From Jehovah of hosts cometh the visitation With thunder, and earthquake, and great noise, With storm and tempest, And flames of devouring fire.
7 И мноштво свих народа који војују на Арил и сви који ударају на њ и на зидове његове и који га притешњују, биће као утвара ноћна у сну.
As a dream, a vision of the night, Shall be the multitude of all the nations That fight against Ariel, That fight against her and her fortress, And distress her.
8 Биће као кад гладан сни да једе, па кад се пробуди а душа му празна; или кад сни жедан да пије, па кад се пробуди, а он изнемогао и душа му жедна; тако ће бити мноштво свих народа што војују на гору сионску.
As a hungry man dreameth, and lo! he eateth, But awaketh and is still hungry; And as a thirsty man dreameth, and lo! he drinketh, But awaketh, and lo! he is faint and thirsty; So shall it be with the multitude of all the nations That fight against mount Zion.
9 Станите и чудите се; вапијте и вичите: Пијани су, али не од вина; посрћу, али не од силовитог пића.
Be in amazement and be amazed! Be blinded and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with strong drink!
10 Јер је Господ излио на вас дух тврдог сна и затворио вам очи, ослепио пророке и видеоце, главаре ваше.
For Jehovah hath poured upon you a spirit of slumber; He hath closed your eyes, the prophets, And covered your heads, the seers;
11 И свака утвара биће вам као речи у запечаћеној књизи, коју дају човеку који зна читати говорећи: Читај то; а он рече: Не могу, јер је запечаћено.
And so every vision is to you as the words of a sealed book, Which is given to a man that is skilled in writing, Saying, “Read this, I pray thee”; But he answereth, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
12 Или да дају књигу оном који не зна читати говорећи: Читај то; а он рече: Не знам читати.
Or, if he give it to one that is not skilled in writing, Saying, “Read this, I pray thee,” He answereth, “I am not skilled in writing.”
13 Зато рече Господ: Што се овај народ приближује устима својим и уснама својим поштује ме, а срце им далеко стоји од мене, и страх којим ме се боје заповест је људска којој су научени,
Therefore saith the Lord, Since this people draweth near to me with their mouth, And honoreth me with their lips, While their heart is far from me, And their worship of me is according to the commandments of men,
14 Зато ћу ево још радити чудесно с тим народом, чудесно и дивно, и мудрост мудрих његових погинуће и разум разумних нестаће.
Therefore, behold, I will proceed to deal marvellously with this people; Marvellously and wonderfully, For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the prudence of the prudent shall be hid.
15 Тешко онима који дубоко сакривају од Господа намеру, који раде у мраку и говоре: Ко нас види? И ко нас зна?
Woe to them that hide deep their purposes from Jehovah, Whose work is in darkness; That say, Who seeth us? Who knoweth us?
16 Наопаке мисли ваше нису ли као као лончарски? Говори ли дело за оног који га је начинио: Није ме начинио? И лонац говори ли за оног који га је начинио: Не разуме?
Alas, your perverseness! Is the potter to be esteemed as the clay, That the work should say of its maker, He made me not? And the thing formed say of him that formed it, He hath no understanding?
17 Неће ли се доскора и Ливан претворити у поље, и поље се узимати за шуму?
Is it not yet a very little while, And Lebanon shall be changed to a fruitful field, And the fruitful field be esteemed a forest.
18 И у тај ће дан глуви чути речи у књизи, и из таме и мрака видеће очи слепих.
And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, And out of mist and darkness shall the eyes of the blind see.
19 И кротки ће се веома радовати у Господу, и ништи између људи веселиће се са Свеца Израиљевог.
The afflicted shall exceedingly rejoice in Jehovah, And the poor shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.
20 Јер насилника неће бити, и нестаће подсмевача, и истребиће се сви који гледају да чине безакоње,
For the oppressor hath come to naught; the scoffer is destroyed; And all that watched for iniquity are cut off;
21 Који окривљују човека за реч, и мећу замку оном који кара на вратима, и обарају праведног лажју.
Who condemned a man in his cause, And laid snares for him who defended himself in the gate, And with falsehood caused the righteous to fail.
22 Зато Господ, који је откупио Аврама, овако говори за дом Јаковљев: Неће се више Јаков постидети, нити ће му лице побледети.
Therefore concerning the house of Jacob thus saith Jehovah, He that redeemed Abraham: No more shall Jacob be ashamed, And no more shall his face grow pale.
23 Јер кад види усред себе децу своју, дело руку мојих, тада ће они светити име моје, светиће Свеца Јаковљевог и бојаће се Бога Израиљевог.
For when his children behold the work of my hands in the midst of them, They shall honor my name. They shall honor the Holy One of Jacob, And reverence the God of Israel.
24 И који лутају духом оразумиће се, и викачи ће примити науку.
They that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, And the obstinate shall receive instruction.
