1 Тако се доврши небо и земља и сва војска њихова.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 И сврши Бог до седмог дана дела своја, која учини; и почину у седми дан од свих дела својих, која учини;
And on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 И благослови Бог седми дан, и посвети га, јер у тај дан почину од свих дела својих, која учини;
And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made.
4 То је постање неба и земље, кад посташе, кад Господ Бог створи земљу и небо,
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH Elohim made the earth and the heavens,
5 И сваку биљку пољску, докле је још не беше на земљи, и сваку травку пољску, докле још не ницаше; јер Господ Бог још не пусти дажда на земљу, нити беше човека да ради земљу,
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for YHWH Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 Али се подизаше пара са земље да натапа сву земљу.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 А створи Господ Бог човека од праха земаљског, и дуну му у нос дух животни; и поста човек душа жива.
And YHWH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 И насади Господ Бог врт у Едему на истоку; и онде намести човека, ког створи.
And YHWH Elohim planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 И учини Господ Бог, те никоше из земље свакаква дрвећа лепа за гледање и добра за јело, и дрво од живота усред врта и дрво од знања добра и зла.
And out of the ground made YHWH Elohim to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 А вода течаше из Едема натапајући врт, и оданде се дељаше у четири реке.
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 Једној је име Фисон, она тече око целе земље евилске, а онде има злата,
The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 И злато је оне земље врло добро; онде има и бдела и драгог камена ониха.
And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 А другој је реци име Геон, она тече око целе земље хуске.
And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 А трећој је реци име Хидекел, она тече к асирској. А четврта је река Ефрат.
And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15 И узевши Господ Бог човека намести га у врту едемском, да га ради и да га чува.
And YHWH Elohim took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 И запрети Господ Бог човеку говорећи: Једи слободно са сваког дрвета у врту;
And YHWH Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 Али с дрвета од знања добра и зла, с њега не једи; јер у који дан окусиш с њега, умрећеш.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18 И рече Господ Бог: Није добро да је човек сам; да му начиним друга према њему.
And YHWH Elohim said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19 Јер Господ Бог створи од земље све звери пољске и све птице небеске, и доведе к Адаму да види како ће коју назвати, па како Адам назове коју животињу онако да јој буде име;
And out of the ground YHWH Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 И Адам надеде име сваком живинчету и свакој птици небеској и свакој звери пољској; али се не нађе Адаму друг према њему.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 И Господ Бог пусти тврд сан на Адама, те заспа; па му узе једно ребро, и место попуни месом;
And YHWH Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 И Господ Бог створи жену од ребра, које узе Адаму, и доведе је к Адаму.
And the rib, which YHWH Elohim had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 А Адам рече: Сада ето кост од мојих кости, и тело од мог тела. Нека јој буде име човечица, јер је узета од човека.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Зато ће оставити човек оца свог и матер своју, и прилепиће се к жени својој, и биће двоје једно тело.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 А беху обоје голи. Адам и жена му, и не беше их срамота.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
