Ефесцима 4

1 Молим вас дакле ја сужањ у Господу, да се владате као што приликује вашем звању у које сте позвани,

I exhort you, therefore, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling wherewith ye were called: —

2 Са сваком понизношћу и кротошћу, с трпљењем, трпећи један другог у љубави,

With all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, bearing one with another in love,

3 Старајући се држати јединство Духа у свези мира;

Giving diligence to keep—the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting-bond of peace, —

4 Једно тело, један дух, као што сте и позвани у једној нади звања свог.

One body, and one spirit, even as ye were also called in one hope of your calling,

5 Један Господ, једна вера, једно крштење,

One Lord, one faith, one immersion,

6 Један Бог и Отац свих, који је над свима, и кроза све, и у свима нама.

One God and Father of all—who is over all, and through all, and in all.

7 А свакоме се од нас даде благодат по мери дара Христовог.

To each one of you, however, hath favour been given, according to the measure of the free-gift of the Christ;

8 Зато говори: Изишавши на висину запленио си плен, и даде даре људима.

Wherefore he saith—Ascending on high, he took captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men.

9 А шта изиђе, шта је, осим да и сиђе у најдоња места земље?

Now this, He ascended; what is it, —save—that he also descended into the under parts of the earth?

10 Који сиђе то је Онај који и изиђе више свих небеса да испуни све.

He that descended, he, it is who also ascended over-above all the heavens, that he might fill all things;

11 И Он је дао једне апостоле, а једне пророке, а једне јеванђелисте, а једне пастире и учитеље,

And, he, gave—some, indeed, to be apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, shepherds and teachers, —

12 Да се свети приправе за дело службе, на сазидање тела Христовог;

With a view to the fitting of the saints for the work of ministering, for an upbuilding of the body of the Christ;

13 Докле достигнемо сви у јединство вере и познање Сина Божијег, у човека савршеног, у меру раста висине Христове;

Until we all advance—into the oneness of the faith, and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, into a man of full-growth, into the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ;

14 Да не будемо више мала деца, коју љуља и заноси сваки ветар науке, у лажи човечијој, путем преваре;

That we may, no longer, be infants—billow-tossed and shifted round with every wind of teaching, —in the craft of men, in knavery suited to the artifice of error;

15 Него владајући се по истини у љубави да у свему узрастемо у Ономе који је глава, Христос.

But, pursuing truth—may, in love, grow into him in all things, —who is the head, Christ, —

16 Из ког је све тело састављено и склопљено сваким зглавком, да једно другом помаже добро по мери сваког уда, и чини да расте тело на поправљање самог себе у љубави.

Out of whom all the body—fitly framing itself together, and connecting itself, through means of every joint of supply, by way of energising in the measure of each single part—secureth the growing of the body, unto an upbuilding of itself in love.

17 Ово дакле говорим и сведочим у Господу да више не ходите као што ходе и остали незнабошци у празности ума свог,

This, therefore, am I saying and protesting in the Lord: —that, no longer, ye walk even as, the nations, walk—in the vanity of their minds,

18 Који имају смисао тамом покривен, и удаљени су од живота Божијег за незнање које је у њима, за окамењење срца својих;

Being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God—by reason of the ignorance that existeth within them, by reason of their hearts being turned into stone,

19 Који оставивши поштење предадоше се бесрамности, на чињење сваке нечистоте и лакомства.

Who, indeed, having become past feeling, have delivered, themselves, up, with wantonness, unto making a trade of all impurity with greed.

20 Али ви тако не познасте Христа;

Ye, however, have, not thus, learned the Christ: —

21 Јер Га чусте и у Њему се научисте, као што је истина у Исусу,

If, at least, it is, him, ye have heard, and, in him, ye have been taught—even as truth is in Jesus, —

22 Да одбаците, по првом живљењу, старог човека, који се распада у жељама преварљивим;

That ye were to strip off—as regardeth the former behaviour—the old man, who corrupteth himself according to his deceitful covetings,

23 И да се обновите духом ума свог,

And were to be getting young again in the spirit of your mind,

24 И обучете у новог човека, који је саздан по Богу у правди и у светињи истине.

And were to put on the man of new mould, who, after God, hath been created in his truthful righteousness and loving kindness.

25 Зато одбаците лаж, и говорите истину сваки са својим ближњим; јер смо уди један другом.

Wherefore, stripping off what is false, be speaking truth each one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;

26 Гневите се и не грешите; сунце да не зађе у гневу вашем.

Be ye angry, and not committing sin, let not the sun be going down upon your angry mood,

27 Нити дајте места ђаволу.

Neither be giving place unto the adversary;

28 Који је крао више да не краде, него још да се труди, чинећи добро рукама својим да има шта давати потребноме.

Let, the stealer, no more, steal, but rather let him be toiling, —working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have [wherewith] to be giving away to him that hath need;

29 Никаква рђава реч да не излази из уста ваших, него само шта је добро за напредовање вере, да да благодат онима који слушају.

Let, no putrid discourse, out of your mouth, be going forth, but if anything is good—suited to the needful upbuilding, —that it may give benefit unto them that hear;

30 И не ожалошћавајте Светог Духа Божијег, којим сте запечаћени за дан избављења.

And be not grieving the Holy Spirit of God, wherewith ye have been sealed unto a day of redemption;

31 Свака горчина, и гнев, и љутина, и вика, и хула, да се узме од вас, са сваком пакошћу.

All bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and outcry, and profane speaking, let it be taken away from you, with all baseness;

32 А будите један другом благи, милостиви, праштајући један другом, као што је и Бог у Христу опростио вама.

And be ye gracious one to another, tenderly affectionate, in favour forgiving one another—even as, God also, in Christ, hath in favour forgiven you;
