Књига пророка Амоса 1
1 Речи Амоса који беше између пастира из Текује, што виде за Израиља за времена Озије цара Јудиног и за времена Јеровоама сина Јоасовог цара Израиљевог, две године пре труса.
The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa, which he prophesied concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earth quake. He said: —
2 Рече дакле: Господ ће рикнути са Сиона, и из Јерусалима ће пустити глас свој, и тужиће станови пастирски и посушиће се врх Кармилу.
Jehovah will roar from Zion, And utter his voice from Jerusalem; The habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, And the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Дамаск, нећу му опростити, јер врхоше Галад гвозденом браном.
Thus saith Jehovah; For three transgressions of Damascus, And for four, will I not turn away its punishment; For they thrashed Gilead with thrashing-wains of iron.
4 Него ћу пустити огањ у дом Азаилов, те ће прождрети дворове Вен-Ададове.
I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, Which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.
5 И поломићу преворнице Дамаску, и истребићу становнике из поља Авена, и оног који држи палицу из дома Еденовог, и отићи ће у ропство народ сирски у Кир, вели Господ.
I will also break the bar of Damascus, And I will destroy the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-Eden, And the people of Syria shall be led captive to Kir: Jehovah hath said it.
6 Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Газа, нећу јој опростити, јер их заробише сасвим и предадоше Едомцима.
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, And for four, I will not turn away its punishment; For they led captive all that fell into their hands, And delivered them up to Edom.
7 Него ћу пустити огањ у зидове Гази, те ће јој прождрети дворове.
But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, Which shall devour her palaces.
8 И истребићу становнике из Азота и оног који држи палицу из Аскалона, и окренућу руку своју на Акарон, и изгинуће остатак филистејски, вели Господ Господ.
And I will destroy the inhabitant from Ashdod, And him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon; And I will turn my hand against Ekron, And the residue of the Philistines shall perish. The Lord, Jehovah, hath said it.
9 Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Тир, нећу му опростити, јер сасвим дадоше у ропство Едомцима и не сећаше се братске вере.
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, And for four, will I not turn away its punishment; Because they delivered up all their captives to Edom, And remembered not the brotherly covenant.
10 Него ћу пустити огањ у зидове Тиру, те ће прождрети дворове његове.
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, Which shall devour her palaces.
11 Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учини Едом, нећу му опростити, јер гони брата свог мачем потрвши у себи све жаљење, и гнев његов раздире једнако, и срдњу своју држи увек.
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, And for four, will I not turn away his punishment; For he pursued his brother with the sword, And cast off all pity, And his anger tore perpetually; Yea, he kept his wrath forever.
12 Него ћу пустити огањ у Теман, и прождреће дворе у Восори.
But I will send a fire upon Teman. Which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 Овако вели Господ: За три зла и за четири што учинише синови Амонови, нећу им опростити, јер параше трудне жене у Галаду да рашире међу своју.
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, And for four, will I not turn away their punishment; For they ripped up the women with child of Gilead, That they might enlarge their border.
14 Него ћу запалити огањ у зидовима Рави, те ће јој прождрети дворове с виком у дан боја и с буром у дан вихора.
But I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah, Which shall devour her palaces, Amid the war-shout in the day of battle, In a whirlwind in the day of the storm.
15 И цар ће њихов отићи у ропство, он и кнезови његови с њим, вели Господ.
Their king shall go into captivity, He and his princes together, saith Jehovah.
