2 Књига Самуилова 23
1 А ово су последње речи Давидове: Рече Давид син Јесејев, рече човек који би постављен високо, помазаник Бога Јаковљевог, и љубак у песмама Израиљевим:
Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse says, the man whom God raised up, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel:
2 Дух Господњи говори преко мене, и беседа Његова би на мом језику.
"The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.
3 Рече Бог Израиљев, каза ми Стена Израиљева; који влада људима нека је праведан, владајући у страху Божијем;
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, 'One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,
4 И биће као светлост јутарња, кад сунце излази јутром без облака, и као трава која расте из земље од светлости иза дажда.
shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.'
5 Ако и није такав дом мој пред Богом, ипак је учинио завет вечан са мном, у свему добро уређен и утврђен. И то је све спасење моје и сва жеља моја, ако и не да да расте.
Most certainly my house is not so with God, yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he doesn't make it grow.
6 А безаконици ће свиколики бити као трње почупани, које се не хвата руком.
But all of the ungodly shall be as thorns to be thrust away, because they can't be taken with the hand,
7 Него ко хоће да га се дохвати, узме гвожђе или копљачу; и сажиже се огњем на месту.
But the man who touches them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear. They shall be utterly burned with fire in their place."
8 Ово су имена јунака Давидових: Јосев-Васевет Тахмонац први између тројице; њему милина би ударити копљем на осам стотина и поби их уједанпут.
These are the names of the warriors whom David had: Jeshbaal the son of Hachmoni, leader of the Three. He wielded his spear against eight hundred whom he killed at one time.
9 За њим Елеазар син Додона сина Ахоховог, између три јунака који беху с Давидом, и осрамотише Филистеје скупљене на бој, кад Израиљци отидоше;
After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the Three warriors. He was with David in Pas Dammim when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel had retreated.
10 Он се подиже, и би Филистеје докле му се рука не умори и укочи се при мачу: и Господ даде велико спасење онај дан, те се народ врати за њим само да покупи плен.
He arose, and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand froze to the sword; and the LORD worked a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.
11 А за њим Сама син Агејев Араранин; кад се Филистеји скупише у гомилу, и онде беше њива пуна лећа, и народ побеже од Филистеја,
After him was Shamma the son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines were gathered together at Lehi, where there was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 Стаде усред њиве, и одбрани је, и поби Филистеје, и Бог даде велико спасење.
But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and the LORD worked a great victory.
13 И та три прва између тридесет сиђоше и дођоше о жетви к Давиду у пећину одоламску, кад војска филистејска стајаше у логору, у долини рафајској.
And three of the Thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was camped in the Valley of Rephaim.
14 А Давид беше онда у граду, и беше онда стража филистејска у Витлејему.
David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15 А Давид зажеле, и рече: Ко би ми донео воде да пијем из студенца витлејемског што је код врата!
And David had a craving and said, "Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate."
16 Тада она три јунака продреше кроз логор филистејски, и захватише воде из студенца витлејемског што је код врата, и донесоше и дадоше Давиду; али он је не хте пити, него је проли пред Господом;
The Three warriors broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.
17 И рече: Не дај Боже да бих то учинио. Није ли то крв ових људи, који не марећи за живот свој идоше. И не хте пити. То учинише ова три јунака.
He said, "Far be it from me, LORD, that I should do this. Shall I drink the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?" Therefore he would not drink it. The Three warriors did these things.
18 И Ависај брат Јоавов син Серујин беше први између тројице; он махну копљем својим на три стотине, и поби их, и прослави се међу тројицом.
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was leader of the Thirty. And he wielded his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name beside the Three.
19 Између те тројице беше најславнији, и поста им поглавар; али оне тројице не стиже.
He was the most illustrious of the Thirty, and he became their leader. However he did not attain to the Three.
20 И Венаја син Јодајев, син човека јунака, велик делима, из Кавсеила; он погуби два јунака моавска, и сишав уби лава у јами кад беше снег.
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was a valiant man of Kabzeel, who performed great deeds. He killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
21 Он уби и једног Мисирца, знатног човека; имаше Мисирац копље у руци, а он изиђе на њ са штапом, и истрже Мисирцу копље из руке, и уби га његовим копљем.
He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature. And the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and grabbed the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.
22 То учини Венаја син Јодајев, и би славан међу ова три јунака.
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things, and had a name among the Three warriors.
23 Беше најславнији између тридесеторице, али оне тројице не стиже; и Давид га постави над пратиоцима својим.
He was more honored than the Thirty, but he did not attain to the Three. David set him over his guard.
24 Асаило брат Јоавов беше међу тридесеторицом, а то беху: Елханан син Додонов из Витлејема,
Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the Thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo from Bethlehem,
25 Сама Арођанин, Елика Арођанин.
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 Хелис Фалћанин, Ира син Икисов Текујанин,
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 Авијезер Анатоћанин, Мевунеј Хусаћанин,
Abiezer the Anathothite, Sibbekai the Hushathite,
28 Салмон Ахошанин, Марај Нетофаћанин,
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 Хелев син Ванин Нетофаћанин, Итај син Ривајев из Гаваје синова Венијаминових,
Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the people of Benjamin,
30 Венаја Пиротоњанин, Идај из долине Гаса.
Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of Nahale Gaash.
31 Ави-Алвон Арваћанин, Азмавет Варумљанин,
Abiel son of the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Bahurimite,
32 Елијава Салвоњанин, Јонатан од синова Јасинових,
Eliahba the Shaalbinite, Jashen the Gizonite,
33 Сама Араранин, Ахијам син Сахаров Араранин,
Jonathan son of Shamma the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sakar the Hararite,
34 Елифелет, син Асвеја Махаћанина, Елијем син Ахитофела Гилоњанина.
Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35 Есрај Кармилац, Фареј Арвљанин,
Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36 Игал син Натанов из Сове, Ванија од Гада,
Igal the son of Nathan, from the army of the Hagrites,
37 Селек Амонац, Нареј Вироћанин, који ношаше оружје Јоаву сину Серујином,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armor bearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38 Ира Јетранин, Гарив Јетранин,
Ira the Jattirite, Gareb the Jattirite,
39 Урија Хетејин; свега тридесет и седам.
Uriah the Hethite: thirty-seven in all.
