1 Opravdavši se dakle vjerom, imamo mir s Bogom kroz Gospoda svojega Isusa Hrista,
Having, therefore, been declared righteous by faith, let us have, peace, towards God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, —
2 Kroz kojega i pristup naðosmo vjerom u ovu blagodat u kojoj stojimo, i hvalimo se nadanjem slave Božije.
Through whom also we have had, our introduction, [by our faith] into this favour wherein we stand; and let us boast in hope of the glory of God.
3 Ne samo pak to, nego se hvalimo i nevoljama, znajuæi da nevolja trpljenje gradi;
And, not only so, but let us boast also in our tribulations; knowing that, our tribulation, worketh out endurance.
4 A trpljenje iskustvo, a iskustvo nadanje;
And, our endurance, a testing, and, our testing, hope,
5 A nadanje neæe se osramotiti, jer se ljubav Božija izli u srca naša Duhom svetijem koji je dat nama.
And, our hope, putteth not to shame. Because, the love of God, hath been poured out in our hearts, through the Holy Spirit that hath been given unto us:
6 Jer Hristos još kad slabi bjesmo umrije u vrijeme svoje za bezbožnike.
Seeing that, Christ, we being weak as yet, seasonably, in behalf of such as were ungodly, died.
7 Jer jedva ko umre za pravednika; za dobroga može biti da bi se ko usudio umrijeti.
For, scarcely in behalf of a righteous man, will one die, —in behalf of the good man indeed, peradventure one even dareth to die;
8 Ali Bog pokazuje svoju ljubav k nama što Hristos još kad bijasmo grješnici umrije za nas.
But God commendeth his own love unto us in that—we as yet being sinners, Christ in our behalf died.
9 Mnogo æemo dakle veæma biti kroza nj spaseni od gnjeva kad smo se sad opravdali krvlju njegovom.
Much more, then, having now been declared righteous by his blood, shall we be saved through him from the anger.
10 Jer kad smo se pomirili s Bogom smræu sina njegova dok smo još bili neprijatelji, mnogo æemo se veæma spasti u životu njegovu kad smo se pomirili.
For, if being enemies we were reconciled unto God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
11 Ne samo pak to, nego se hvalimo i Bogom kroz Gospoda svojega Isusa Hrista, kroz kojega sad primismo pomirenje.
And, not only, so, but are even boasting in God, through our Lord Jesus [Christ], —through whom, now, the reconciliation we have received.
12 Zato kao što kroz jednoga èovjeka doðe na svijet grijeh, i kroz grijeh smrt, i tako smrt uðe u sve ljude, jer svi sagriješiše.
For this cause, —just as, through one man, sin into the world entered, and through sin, death, —and, so, unto all men death passed through, for that all had sinned; —
13 Jer grijeh bješe na svijetu do zakona; ali se grijeh ne primaše kad ne bješe zakona;
For, until law, sin was in the world, although sin is not reckoned when there is no law, —
14 Nego carova smrt od Adama tja do Mojsija i nad onima koji nijesu sagriješili prestupivši kao Adam, koji je prilika onoga koji šæadijaše doæi.
Yet still, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them who had not sinned after the likeness of the transgression of Adam, —who is a type of the Coming One; —
15 Ali dar nije tako kao grijeh; jer kad kroz grijeh jednoga pomriješe mnogi, mnogo se veæa blagodat Božija i dar izli izobilno na mnoge blagodaæu jednoga èovjeka Isusa Hrista.
But, not as the fault, so, [also] the decree of favour, for, if, by the fault of the one, the many died, much more, the favour of God and the free-gift in favour, by the one man Jesus Christ, unto the many superabounded;
16 I dar nije kao grijeh jednoga: jer za grijeh jednoga bi osuðenje, a dar od mnogijeh grijehova opravdanje.
And, not as through one that sinned, is that which is freely given, for, the sentence of judgment, indeed, was—out of one [fault] into condemnation, whereas, the decree of favour, is—out of many faults, into a recovery of righteousness.
17 Jer kad za grijeh jednoga carova smrt kroz jednoga, koliko æe veæma oni koji primaju izobilje blagodati i dar pravde u životu carovati kroz jednoga Isusa Hrista!
For, if, by the fault of the one, death reigned through the one, much more, they who the superabundance of the favour and of [the free-gift of] the righteousness do receive, in life, shall reign through the one, Jesus Christ.
18 Zato dakle kao što za grijeh jednoga doðe osuðenje na sve ljude, tako i pravdom jednoga doðe na sve ljude opravdanje života.
Hence then, as through one fault, [the sentence was] unto all men unto condemnation, so, also, through one recovery of righteousness, [the decree of favour] is unto all men for righteous acquittal unto life;
19 Jer kao što neposlušanjem jednoga èovjeka postaše mnogi grješni, tako æe i poslušanjem jednoga biti mnogi pravedni.
For, just as, through the disobedience of the one man, sinners, the many were constituted, so, also, through the obedience of the one, righteous, the many shall be constituted—
20 A zakon doðe uz to da se umnoži grijeh; jer gdje se umnoži grijeh ondje se još veæma umnoži blagodat,
Law, however, gained admission, in order that the fault might abound, but, where the sin abounded, the favour greatly superabounded:
21 Da kao što carova grijeh za smrt, tako i blagodat da caruje pravdom za život vjeèni, kroz Isusa Hrista Gospoda našega. (aiōnios g166)
In order that—just as sin reigned in death, so, also, favour, might reign through righteousness unto life age-abiding, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
