1 Zato se ne možeš izgovoriti, o èovjeèe koji god sudiš! jer kojijem sudom sudiš drugome, sebe osuðuješ; jer to èiniš sudeæi.
Wherefore, inexcusable, thou art, O man, whoever judgest; for, wherein thou judgest some one else, thyself, thou dost condemn, —for, the very things, thou dost practise, who art judging:
2 A znamo da je sud Božij prav na one koji to èine.
We know, however, that, the sentence of God, is according to truth against them who, such things as these, do practise.
3 Nego pomišljaš li, o èovjeèe koji sudiš onima koji to èine, i sam èiniš to! da æeš ti pobjeæi od suda Božijega?
And reckonest thou this, O man—who dost judge them who such things do practise, and yet art doing the same, that, thou, shalt escape the sentence of God?
4 Ili ne mariš za bogatstvo njegove dobrote i krotosti i trpljenja, ne znajuæi da te dobrota Božija na pokajanje vodi?
Or, the riches of his kindness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, dost thou despise, —not knowing that, the kindness of God, unto repentance, is leading thee?
5 Nego svojom drvenosti i nepokajanijem srcem sabiraš sebi gnjev za dan gnjeva u koji æe se pokazati pravedni sud Boga,
But, according to thy hardness, and [thine] impenitent heart, art treasuring up for thyself anger, in a day of anger and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, —
6 Koji æe dati svakome po djelima njegovijem:
Who will render unto each one according to his works: —
7 Onima dakle koji su trpljenjem djela dobroga tražili slavu i èast i neraspadljivost, život vjeèni; (aiōnios )
Unto them, on the one hand, who, by way of endurance in good work, are seeking, glory, honour and incorruption, life age-abiding, (aiōnios )
8 A onima koji se uz prkos suprote istini a pokoravaju se nepravdi, nemilost i gnjev.
Unto them, on the other hand, who are of contention, and are not yielding unto the truth, but are yielding unto unrighteousness, anger and wrath,
9 Nevolja i tuga na svaku dušu èovjeka koji èini zlo, a najprije Jevrejina i Grka;
tribulation and anguish—against every soul of man who worketh out what is base, both of Jew first and of Greek, —
10 A slava i èast i mir svakome koji èini dobro, a najprije Jevrejinu i Grku;
But glory and honour and peace—unto every one who worketh what is good, both unto Jew first and unto Greek:
11 Jer Bog ne gleda ko je ko.
For there is no respect of persons with God; —
12 Jer koji bez zakona sagriješiše, bez zakona æe i izginuti; i koji u zakonu sagriješiše, po zakonu æe se osuditi
For, as many as without law sinned, without law, also shall perish, and, as many as within law sinned, through law, shall be judged;
13 Jer pred Bogom nijesu pravedni oni koji slušaju zakon, nego æe se oni opravdati koji ga tvore;
For, not the hearers of law, are righteous with God, but, the doers of law, shall be declared righteous;
14 Jer kad neznabošci ne imajuæi zakona sami od sebe èine što je po zakonu, oni zakona ne imajuæi sami su sebi zakon:
For, whensoever the nations which have not law, by nature, the things of the law, may be doing, the same, not having law, unto themselves, are a law, —
15 Oni dokazuju da je ono napisano u srcima njihovijem što se èini po zakonu, buduæi da im savjest svjedoèi, i misli meðu sobom tuže se ili pravdaju)
Who, indeed, shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience therewith bearing witness, and, between one another, their reasonings accusing—or, even excusing, them: —
16 Na dan kad Bog uzasudi tajne ljudske po jevanðelju mojemu preko Isusa Hrista.
In the day on which God judgeth the secrets of men according to my glad-message through Christ Jesus.
17 Gle, ti se zoveš Jevrejin, a oslanjaš se na zakon i hvališ se Bogom,
If, however, thou, art taking the name of Jew, and resting thyself upon law, and boasting in God,
18 I poznaješ volju, i izbiraš što je bolje, jer si nauèen od zakona;
And art taking note of his will, and testing the things that differ—when receiving oral instruction out of the law,
19 I misliš da si voð slijepima, vidjelo onima koji su u mraku,
Art persuaded, moreover, that, thou thyself, art—a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,
20 Nakazatelj bezumnima, uèitelj djeci, koji imaš ugled razuma i istine u zakonu.
A trainer of the simple, a teacher of babes, having the forming of knowledge and truth in the law, —
21 Uèeæi dakle drugoga sebe ne uèiš;
Thou, therefore, that art teaching someone else, thyself, art thou not teaching? Thou that proclaimest—Do not steal! Art thou, stealing?
22 Propovijedajuæi da se ne krade, kradeš; govoreæi: ne èini preljube, èiniš preljubu; gadeæi se na idole, kradeš svetinju;
That sayest—Do not commit adultery! Art thou, committing adultery? That abhorrest sacrilege, Art thou, robbing temples?
23 Koji se hvališ zakonom, a prijestupom zakona sramotiš Boga.
That in law dost boast, Through the transgression of the law, art thou dishonouring God?
24 Jer se ime Božije zbog vas huli u neznabošcima, kao što stoji napisano.
For the name of God, because of you, is defamed among the nations, —even as it is written.
25 Obrezanje pomaže ako zakon držiš; ako li si prestupnik zakona, obrezanje je tvoje neobrezanje postalo.
For, circumcision, indeed, profiteth—if, law, thou be practising; but, if thou be a transgressor of law, thy circumcision, hath become, uncircumcision
26 Ako dakle neobrezanje pravdu zakona drži, zašto se ne bi njegovo neobrezanje za obrezanje uzelo?
If then, the uncircumcision, be guarding the righteous requirement of the law, shall not, his uncircumcision, as circumcision be reckoned?—
27 I onaj koji je od roda neobrezan i izvršuje zakon, osudiæe tebe koji si sa slovima i obrezanjem prestupnik zakona.
And the uncircumcision by nature, completing the law, shall judge, thee, who, notwithstanding letter and circumcision, art a transgressor of law!
28 Jer ono nije Jevrejin koji je spolja Jevrejin, niti je ono obrezanje koje je spolja na tijelu;
For, not he who is one in appearance, is a Jew, nor is, that which is such in appearance in flesh, circumcision;
29 Nego je ono Jevrejin koji je iznutra, i obrezanje srca duhom a ne slovima, to je obrezanje; kome je hvala ne od ljudi nego od Boga.
But, he who is one in secret, is a Jew, —and, [that is], circumcision, which is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, —whose, praise, is not of men, but of God.
