Psalmi 56
1 Smiluj se na me, Bože, jer èovjek hoæe da me proguta, neprijatelj me svaki dan pritješnjuje.
[For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Silent Dove in Distant Lands." A poem by David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.] Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.
2 Neprijatelji moji svaki dan traže da me progutaju; jer mnogi napadaju na me oholo.
My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.
3 Kad me je strah, ja se u tebe uzdam.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
4 Bogom se hvalim za rijeè njegovu; u Boga se uzdam, ne bojim se; šta æe mi uèiniti tijelo?
In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
5 Svaki dan izvræu rijeèi moje; što god misle, sve meni o zlu.
All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 Skupljaju se, prikrivaju se, paze za petama mojima; jer traže dušu moju.
They conspire and lurk, watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.
7 Kod ovake zloæe izbavi od njih, u gnjevu obori narode, Bože.
Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.
8 U tebe je izbrojeno moje potucanje, suze se moje èuvaju u sudu kod tebe, one su u knjizi tvojoj.
You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?
9 Neprijatelji moji ustupaju natrag, kad tebe prizivljem; po tom znam da je Bog sa mnom.
Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.
10 Bogom se hvalim za rijeè njegovu, Gospodom se hvalim za rijeè njegovu.
In God, I will praise his word. In the LORD, I will praise his word.
11 U Boga se uzdam, ne bojim se; šta æe mi uèiniti èovjek?
I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 Tebi sam se, Bože, zavjetovao; tebe æu hvaliti;
Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to you.
13 Jer si izbavio dušu moju od smrti, noge moje od spoticanja, da bih hodio pred licem Božjim, u svjetlosti živijeh.
For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
