< Psalmi 42 >
1 Kao što košuta traži potoke, tako duša moja traži tebe, Bože!
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.
2 Žedna je duša moja Boga, Boga živoga, kad æu doæi i pokazati se licu Božijemu?
My soul thirsts for God, for the Elohim Chayim [Living God]. When shall I come and appear before God?
3 Suze su mi hljeb dan i noæ, kad mi svaki dan govore: gdje je Bog tvoj?
My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?”
4 Duša se moja proljeva kad se opominjem kako sam hodio sred mnogoga ljudstva, stupao u dom Božji, a ljudstvo praznujuæi pjevaše i podvikivaše.
These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I used to go with the crowd, and led them to God’s house, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day.
5 Što si klonula, dušo moja, i što si žalosna? Uzdaj se u Boga; jer æu ga još slaviti, spasitelja mojega i Boga mojega.
Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to him for the yishu'ah ·salvation· of his presence.
6 Klonula je u meni duša zato što te pominjem u zemlji Jordanskoj, na Ermonu, na gori maloj.
My God, my soul is in despair within me. Therefore I remember you from the land of the Jordan [Descender], the heights of Hermon [Devoted to destruction], from the hill Mizar.
7 Bezdana bezdanu dozivlje glasom slapova tvojih; sve vode tvoje i vali tvoji na mene navališe.
Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.
8 Danju je javljao Gospod milost svoju, a noæu mu je pjesma u mene, molitva Bogu života mojega.
Adonai will enjoin his chesed ·loving-kindness· in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life.
9 Reæi æu Bogu, gradu svojemu: zašto si me zaboravio? zašto idem sjetan od pakosti neprijateljeve?
I will ask God, my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 Koji mi pakoste, prebijajuæi kosti moje, rugaju mi se govoreæi mi svaki dan: gdje ti je Bog?
As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?”
11 Što si klonula, dušo moja, i što si žalosna? Uzdaj se u Boga; jer æu ga još slaviti, spasitelja mojega i Boga mojega.
Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to him, the yishu'ah ·salvation· of my countenance, and my God.
