< Poslovice 9 >
1 Premudrost sazida sebi kuæu, i otesa sedam stupova;
Wisdom, hath builded her house, hath hewn out her seven pillars;
2 Pokla stoku svoju, rastvori vino svoje, i postavi sto svoj.
hath slaughtered her beasts, hath mingled her wine, hath even set in order her table;
3 Posla djevojke svoje, te zove svrh visina gradskih:
hath sent forth her maidens, She crieth aloud, upon the tops of the heights of the city:
4 Ko je lud, neka se uvrati ovamo. I bezumnima veli:
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither, as for him that lacketh sense, she saith to him—
5 Hodite, jedite hljeba mojega, i pijte vina koje sam rastvorila.
Come, feed on my food, and drink of the wine I have mingled;
6 Ostavite ludost i biæete živi, i idite putem razuma.
Forsake the simple ones, and live, and advance in the way of understanding.
7 Ko uèi potsmjevaèa, prima sramotu; i ko kori bezbožnika, prima rug.
He that rebuketh a scoffer, getteth to himself contempt, and, he that reproveth a lawless man, [getteth to himself] his shame.
8 Ne karaj potsmjevaèa da ne omrzne na te; karaj mudra, i ljubiæe te.
Do not reprove a scoffer, lest he hate thee, Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.
9 Kaži mudrome, i biæe još mudriji; pouèi pravednoga, i znaæe više.
Give to a wise man, and he will be wiser still, Inform a righteous man, and he will increase learning.
10 Poèetak je mudrosti strah Gospodnji, i znanje je svetijeh stvari razum.
The beginning of wisdom, is the reverence of Yahweh, and, the knowledge of the Holy, is understanding;
11 Jer æe se mnom umnožiti dani tvoji i dodaæe ti se godine životu.
For, by me, shall be multiplied—thy days, and there be added to thee—the years of life.
12 Ako budeš mudar, sebi æeš biti mudar; ako li budeš potsmjevaè, sam æeš tegliti.
If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself, but, if thou scoff, alone, shalt thou bear it.
13 Žena bezumna plaha je, luda i ništa ne zna;
The woman Stupidity, is boisterous, so simple that she knoweth not what she would do;
14 I sjedi na vratima od kuæe svoje na stolici, na visinama gradskim,
So she sitteth at the entrance of her house, upon a seat, in the heights of the city;
15 Te vièe one koji prolaze, koji idu pravo svojim putem:
To invite them who pass by the way, who are going straight on in their paths:
16 Ko je lud? neka se uvrati ovamo. I bezumnome govori:
Whoso is simple, let him turn aside hither, and, as for him that lacketh sense, she saith to him:
17 Voda je kradena slatka, i hljeb je sakriven ugodan.
Stolen waters, will be sweet, —and a secret meal, will be pleasant;
18 A on ne zna da su ondje mrtvaci i u dubokom grobu da su zvanice njezine. (Sheol )
But he knoweth not, that the shades are there; In the depths of hades, are her guests. (Sheol )
