Jovanu 3
1 Bijaše pak èovjek meðu farisejima, po imenu Nikodim, knez Jevrejski.
There was however, a man from among the Pharisees, Nicodemus, his name, —ruler of the Jews.
2 Ovaj doðe k Isusu noæu i reèe mu: Ravi! znamo da si ti uèitelj od Boga došao; jer niko ne može èudesa ovijeh èiniti koja ti èiniš ako nije Bog s njim.
The same, came unto him, by night, and said unto him—Rabbi! we know that, from God, thou hast come, a teacher; for, no one, can be doing, these signs, which, thou, art doing, except, God, be with him.
3 Odgovori Isus i reèe mu: zaista, zaista ti kažem: ako se ko nanovo ne rodi, ne može vidjeti carstva Božijega.
Jesus answered, and said unto him—Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Reèe Nikodim njemu: kako se može èovjek roditi kad je star? eda li može po drugi put uæi u utrobu matere svoje i roditi se?
Nicodemus saith unto him—How, can a man be born, when he is, old? Can he, into the womb of his mother, a second time, enter, and be born?
5 Odgovori Isus: zaista, zaista ti kažem: ako se ko ne rodi vodom i Duhom, ne može uæi u carstvo Božije.
Jesus answered—Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 Što je roðeno od tijela, tijelo je; a što je roðeno od Duha, duh je.
That which hath been born of the flesh, is, flesh, and, that which hath been born of the spirit, is, spirit.
7 Ne èudi se što ti rekoh: valja vam se nanovo roditi.
Do not marvel, that I said unto thee: Ye must needs be born from above.
8 Duh diše gdje hoæe, i glas njegov èuješ, a ne znaš otkuda dolazi i kuda ide; tako je svaki èovjek koji je roðen od Duha.
The spirit, where it pleaseth, doth breathe, and, the sound thereof, thou hearest; but knowest not, whence it cometh and whither it goeth: Thus, is every one who hath been born of the spirit.
9 Odgovori Nikodim i reèe mu: kako može to biti?
Nicodemus answered, and said unto him—How, can these things, come about?
10 Isus odgovori i reèe mu: ti si uèitelj Izrailjev, i to li ne znaš?
Jesus answered, and said unto him—Art, thou, the teacher of Israel, and, these things, knowest not?
11 Zaista, zaista ti kažem da mi govorimo što znamo, i svjedoèimo što vidjesmo, i svjedoèanstva našega ne primate.
Verily, verily, I say unto thee: What we know, we speak, and, of what we have seen, we bear witness, and, our witness, ye receive not.
12 Kad vam kazah zemaljsko pa ne vjerujete, kako æete vjerovati ako vam kažem nebesko?
If, the earthly things, I told you, and ye believe not, How, if I should tell you the heavenly things, will ye believe?
13 I niko se ne pope na nebo osim koji siðe s neba, sin èovjeèij koji je na nebu.
And, no one, hath ascended into heaven, save he that, out of heaven, descended, —The Son of Man.
14 I kao što Mojsije podiže zmiju u pustinji, tako treba sin èovjeèij da se podigne,
And, just as, Moses, lifted up the serpent in the desert, so, must, the Son of Man, be lifted up, —
That, whosoever believeth in him, may have life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
16 Jer Bogu tako omilje svijet da je i sina svojega jedinorodnoga dao, da nijedan koji ga vjeruje ne pogine, nego da ima život vjeèni. (aiōnios g166)
For God, so loved, the world, that, his Only Begotten Son, he gave, —that, whosoever believeth on him, might not perish, but have life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
17 Jer Bog ne posla sina svojega na svijet da sudi svijetu, nego da se svijet spase kroza nj.
For God, sent not, his Son into the world, that he might judge the world, but, that the world might be saved through him.
18 Koji njega vjeruje ne sudi mu se, a koji ne vjeruje veæ je osuðen, jer ne vjerova u ime jedinorodnoga sina Božijega.
He that believeth on him, is not to be judged: he that believeth not, already, hath been judged, —because he hath not believed on the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.
19 A sud je ovaj što vidjelo doðe na svijet, i ljudima omilje veæma tama negoli vidjelo; jer njihova djela bijahu zla.
And, this, is the judgment: That, the light, hath come into the world, —and men loved, rather the darkness than the light, for, wicked, were their, works.
20 Jer svaki koji zlo èini mrzi na vidjelo i ne ide k vidjelu da ne pokaraju djela njegovijeh, jer su zla.
For, whosoever doth practise corrupt things, hateth the light, and cometh not unto the light, lest his works should be reproved;
21 A ko istinu èini ide k vidjelu, da se vide djela njegova, jer su u Bogu uèinjena.
But, he that doeth the truth, cometh unto the light, that his works may be, made manifest, that, in God, have they been wrought.
22 A potom doðe Isus i uèenici njegovi u Judejsku zemlju, i ondje življaše s njima i kršæavaše.
After these things, came Jesus, and his disciples, into the Judaean land; and, there, was he tarrying with them, and immersing.
23 A Jovan kršæavaše u Enonu blizu Salima, jer ondje bješe mnogo vode; i dolažahu te ih kršæavaše.
And John also was immersing in Aenon, near to him, because, many waters, were there; and they were coming, and being immersed; —
24 Jer još ne bijaše Jovan baèen u tamnicu.
for, not yet, had John been cast into prison.
25 Tada postade raspra meðu uèenicima Jovanovijem i Jevrejima oko èišæenja.
There arose, therefore, a questioning, from among the disciples of John, with a Jew, —concerning purification.
26 I doðoše k Jovanu i rekoše mu: Ravi! onaj što bješe s tobom preko Jordana, za koga si ti svjedoèio, evo on kršæava, i svi idu k njemu.
And they came unto John, and said unto him—Rabbi! he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, unto whom, thou, hast borne witness, see! the same, is immersing; and, all, are coming unto him.
27 Jovan odgovori i reèe: ne može èovjek ništa primati ako mu ne bude dano s neba.
John answered, and said—A man can receive, nothing, except it have been given him out of heaven.
28 Vi sami meni svjedoèite da rekoh: ja nijesam Hristos, nego sam poslan pred njim.
Ye yourselves, unto me, bear witness, that, I, said—I, am not the Christ; but—I am sent before, That One.
29 Ko ima nevjestu ženik je, a prijatelj ženikov stoji i sluša ga, i radošæu raduje se glasu ženikovu. Ova dakle radost moja ispuni se.
He that hath the bride, is, bridegroom; but, the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth by and hearkeneth unto him, greatly, rejoiceth, by reason of the voice of the bridegroom. This, my joy, therefore, is fulfilled.
30 Onaj treba da raste, a ja da se umaljujem.
That One, it behoveth to increase, —but, me, to decrease.
31 Koji odozgo dolazi nad svima je; koji je sa zemlje od zemlje je, i govori od zemlje; koji dolazi s neba nad svima je.
He that, from above, doth come, over all, is: he that is of the earth, of the earth, is, and, of the earth, doth speak: he that, out of heaven, doth come, over all, is,
32 I što vidje i èu ono svjedoèi; i svjedoèanstva njegova niko ne prima.
What he hath seen and heard, of, the same, he beareth witness, —and, his witness, no one, receiveth: —
33 Koji primi njegovo svjedoèanstvo, potvrdi da je Bog istinit.
He that hath received his witness, hath set seal—that, God, is, true.
34 Jer koga Bog posla, onaj rijeèi Božije govori: jer Bog Duha ne daje na mjeru.
For, he whom God hath sent, the sayings of God, doth speak; for, not by measure, giveth he the Spirit.
35 Jer otac ljubi sina, i sve dade u ruke njegove.
The Father, loveth the Son, and, all things, hath given into his hand.
