1 Èujte rijeè Gospodnju, sinovi Izrailjevi, jer Gospod ima parbu sa stanovnicima zemaljskim; jer nema istine ni milosti ni znanja za Boga u zemlji;
Hear the word of the LORD, you children of Israel; for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 Zaklinju se krivo i lažu i ubijaju i kradu i èine preljubu, zastraniše, i jedna krv stiže drugu.
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
3 Zato æe tužiti zemlja, i što god živi na njoj prenemoæi æe, i zvijeri poljske i ptice nebeske; i ribe æe morske pomrijeti.
Therefore the land mourns, and all those who dwell in it will waste away, along with the animals of the field and the crawling creatures of the earth and the birds of the sky, and even the fish of the sea will be taken away.
4 Ali niko da se ne prepire ni da koga kori, jer je narod tvoj kao oni koji se prepiru sa sveštenikom.
"Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.
5 Zato æeš pasti danju, i s tobom æe prorok pasti noæu, i pogubiæu mater tvoju.
You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.
6 Izgibe moj narod, jer je bez znanja; kad si ti odbacio znanje, i ja æu tebe odbaciti da mi ne vršiš službe sveštenièke; kad si zaboravio Boga svojega, i ja æu zaboraviti sinove tvoje.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.
7 Što se više množiše, to mi više griješiše; slavu njihovu pretvoriæu u sramotu.
As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. They have exchanged their glory into shame.
8 Od grijeha naroda mojega hrane se, i lakome se na bezakonje njihovo.
They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.
9 Zato æe biti svešteniku kao narodu; pohodiæu ga za putove njegove i platiæu mu za djela njegova.
It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.
10 I oni æe jesti, a neæe se nasititi; kurvaæe se, a neæe se množiti; jer prestaše služiti Gospodu.
They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to the LORD.
11 Kurvarstvo i vino i mast oduzima srce.
Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding.
12 Narod moj pita drvo svoje, i palica mu njegova odgovara; jer duh kurvarski zavodi ih da se kurvaju otstupivši od Boga svojega.
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.
13 Navrh gora prinose žrtve, i na humovima kade pod hrastovima, topolama i brijestovima, jer im je sjen dobar; zato se kurvaju kæeri vaše i snahe vaše èine preljubu.
They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks and poplars and shady terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery.
14 Neæu karati kæeri vaših kad se kurvaju, ni snaha vaših kad èine preljubu; jer se oni odvajaju s kurvama i prinose žrtve s nevaljalijem ženama; i narod nerazumni propašæe.
I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.
15 Ako se ti kurvaš, Izrailju, neka ne griješi Juda; i ne idite u Galgal niti idite u Vetaven, i ne kunite se: tako da je živ Gospod.
"Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet do not let Judah offend; and do not come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beth Aven, nor swear, 'As the LORD lives.'
16 Jer je Izrailj uporan kao uporna junica; sada æe ih pasti Gospod kao jagnje na prostranu mjestu.
For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow.
17 Jefrem se udružio s lažnijem bogovima; ostavi ga.
Ephraim, joined to idols, has placed stumbling blocks against himself.
18 Piæe se njihovo prevrnu, jednako se kurvaju; milo im je: dajte. Branièi su njegovi sramota.
Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way.
19 Vjetar æe ih stegnuti krilima svojim, i oni æe se posramiti od žrtava svojih.
The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.
