Efežanima 4
1 Molim vas dakle ja sužanj u Gospodu, da se vladate kao što prilikuje vašemu zvanju u koje ste pozvani,
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
2 Sa svakom poniznošæu i krotošæu, s trpljenjem, trpeæi jedan drugoga u ljubavi,
with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Starajuæi se držati jedinstvo Duha u svezi mira;
giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 Jedno tijelo, jedan duh, kao što ste i pozvani u jednom nadu zvanja svojega.
[There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
5 Jedan Gospod, jedna vjera, jedno krštenje,
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 Jedan Bog i otac sviju, koji je nad svima, i kroza sve, i u svima nama.
one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 A svakome se od nas dade blagodat po mjeri dara Hristova.
But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Zato govori: izišavši na visinu zaplijenio si plijen, i dade dare ljudima.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
9 A što iziðe, šta je, osim da i siðe u najdonja mjesta zemlje?
(Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10 Koji siðe to je onaj koji i iziðe više sviju nebesa da ispuni sve.
He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 I on je dao jedne apostole, a jedne proroke, a jedne jevanðeliste, a jedne pastire i uèitelje,
And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 Da se sveti priprave za djelo službe, na sazidanje tijela Hristova;
for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
13 Dokle dostignemo svi u jedinstvo vjere i poznanje sina Božijega, u èovjeka savršena, u mjeru rasta visine Hristove;
till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 Da ne budemo više mala djeca, koju ljulja i zanosi svaki vjetar nauke, u laži èovjeèijoj, putem prijevare;
that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
15 Nego vladajuæi se po istini u ljubavi da u svemu uzrastemo u onome koji je glava, Hristos.
but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him, which is the head, [even] Christ;
16 Iz kojega je sve tijelo sastavljeno i sklopljeno svakijem zglavkom, da jedno drugome pomaže dobro po mjeri svakoga uda, i èini da raste tijelo na popravljanje samoga sebe u ljubavi.
from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in [due] measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.
17 Ovo dakle govorim i svjedoèim u Gospodu da više ne hodite kao što hode i ostali neznabošci u praznosti uma svojega,
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Koji imaju smisao tamom pokriven, i udaljeni su od života Božijega za neznanje koje je u njima, za okamenjenje srca svojijeh;
being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;
19 Koji ostavivši poštenje predadoše se besramnosti, na èinjenje svake neèistote i lakomstva.
who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 Ali vi tako ne poznaste Hrista;
But ye did not so learn Christ;
21 Jer ga èuste i u njemu se nauèiste, kao što je istina u Isusu,
if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
22 Da odbacite, po prvome življenju, staroga èovjeka, koji se raspada u željama prevarljivijem;
that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, which waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
23 I da se obnovite duhom uma svojega,
and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 I obuèete u novoga èovjeka, koji je sazdan po Bogu u pravdi i u svetinji istine.
and put on the new man, which after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
25 Zato odbacite laž, i govorite istinu svaki sa svojijem bližnjijem; jer smo udi jedan drugome.
Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Gnjevite se i ne griješite; sunce da ne zaðe u gnjevu vašemu.
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Niti dajite mjesta ðavolu.
neither give place to the devil.
28 Koji je krao više da ne krade, nego još da se trudi, èineæi dobro rukama svojima da ima šta davati potrebnome.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.
29 Nikakva rðava rijeè da ne izlazi iz usta vašijeh, nego samo što je dobro za napredovanje vjere, da da blagodat onima koji slušaju.
Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.
30 I ne ožalošæavajte svetoga Duha Božijega, kojijem ste zapeèaæeni za dan izbavljenja.
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Svaka gorèina, i gnjev, i ljutina, i vika i hula, da se uzme od vas, sa svakom pakošæu.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 A budite jedan drugome blagi, milostivi, praštajuæi jedan drugome, kao što je i Bog u Hristu oprostio vama.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
