Ponovljeni Zakon 19
1 Kad Gospod Bog tvoj potre narode kojih zemlju daje tebi Gospod Bog tvoj, i kad ih naslijediš i nastaniš se po gradovima njihovijem i po kuæama njihovijem,
When Yahweh thy God, shall cut off the nations whose land Yahweh thy God is giving thee, —and thou shalt dispossess them, and dwell in their cities and in their houses,
2 Odvoj tri grada usred zemlje svoje, koju ti daje Gospod Bog tvoj da je naslijediš,
three cities, shalt thou set apart for thee, —in the midst of thy land which Yahweh thy God is giving thee to possess.
3 Naèini put, i razdijeli na troje krajeve zemlje svoje, koju ti da Gospod Bog tvoj u našljedstvo, pa neka bježi onamo svaki krvnik.
Thou shalt prepare for thee a way, and shalt divide into three parts the boundary of thy land which Yahweh thy God shall cause thee to inherit, —and it shall be that every manslayer shall flee thither.
4 A ovako neka bude s krvnikom koji uteèe onamo, da bi ostao živ: ko ubije bližnjega svojega nehotice, ne mrzivši prije na nj,
And, this, is the case of the manslayer, who shall flee thither and live, —Whoso shall smite his neighbour unwittingly, he, not having hated him aforetime;
5 Kao kad bi ko otišao s bližnjim svojim u šumu da sijeèe drva, pa bi zamahnuo sjekirom u ruci svojoj da posijeèe drvo, a ona bi spala s držalice i pogodila bi bližnjega njegova tako da umre, on neka uteèe u koji od tijeh gradova da ostane živ,
as when one entereth with his neighbour into a forest, to fell trees, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe, to cut down the tree, and the head flieth off from the handle, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die, he, shall flee into one of these cities, and live;
6 Da ne bi osvetnik potjerao krvnika dok mu je srce raspaljeno, i da ga ne bi stigao na daleku putu i ubio ga, premda nije zaslužio smrti, jer nije prije mrzio na nj.
lest the blood redeemer pursue the manslayer because his heart is hot, and overtake him because the way is long, and he smite him so as to take away his life, —he not being worthy of death, seeing that he had not been hating him aforetime.
7 Zato ti zapovijedam i velim: tri grada odvoj.
For this cause, am I commanding thee saying, —Three cities, shalt thou set apart for thee.
8 A kad raširi Gospod Bog tvoj meðe tvoje, kao što se zakleo ocima tvojim, i da ti svu zemlju koju je rekao dati ocima tvojim,
But, if Yahweh thy God should enlarge thy bounds, as he sware unto thy fathers, —and should give thee all the land, which he spake of giving unto thy fathers;
9 Ako uzdržiš i ustvoriš sve ove zapovijesti, koje ti ja danas zapovijedam, da ljubiš Gospoda Boga svojega i hodiš putovima njegovijem svagda, onda dodaj još tri grada osim ona tri,
because thou dost observe all this commandment to do it which I am commanding thee to-day, to love Yahweh thy God and to walk in his paths all the days, then shalt thou add unto thee yet three cities, unto these three;
10 Da se ne proljeva krv prava u zemlji tvojoj, koju ti Gospod Bog tvoj daje u našljedstvo, i da ne bude na tebi krv.
that innocent blood may not be shed in the midst of thy land, which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee as an inheritance, —and so shed-blood be upon thee.
11 Ali ako ko mrzi na bližnjega svojega i vreba ga, i skoèi na nj, i udari ga tako da umre, a on uteèe u koji od tijeh gradova,
But, when any man shall be hating his neighbour, and shall lie in wait for him and rise up against him, and smite him so as to take away his life that he dieth, —and shall then flee into one of these cities,
12 Onda starješine mjesta njegova neka pošlju i uzmu ga odande, i predadu ga u ruke osvetniku da se pogubi.
then shall the elders of his city send and fetch him from thence, —and deliver him into the hand of the blood redeemer that he die;
13 Neka ga ne žali oko tvoje, nego skini krv pravu s Izrailja, da bi ti dobro bilo.
thine eye shall not look with pity upon him, —so shall thou consume the shedding of innocent blood out of Israel and it shall go well with thee.
14 Ne pomièi meðe bližnjega svojega koju postave stari u našljedstvu tvojem koje dobiješ u zemlji koju ti Gospod Bog tvoj daje da je naslijediš.
Thou shalt not move back the boundary of thy neighbour, by which they set bounds at first, —in thine inheritance which thou shall receive in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving thee to possess.
15 Neka ne ustaje jedan svjedok na èovjeka ni za kako zlo i ni za kakav grijeh izmeðu svijeh grijeha koji se èine, nego na rijeèima dva ili tri svjedoka da ostaje stvar.
One witness, shall not rise up, against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, with regard to any sin that he may commit, —at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses, must a matter be establish.
16 Ako bi ustao lažan svjedok na koga da svjedoèi na njega da se odmeæe Boga,
When there shall rise up a wrongful witness against a man, —to answer against him perversely,
17 Onda neka stanu ta dva èovjeka, koji imaju tu raspru, pred Gospoda, pred sveštenike i pred sudije koje budu u to vrijeme;
then shall the two men who are at variance stand before Yahweh, —before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days;
18 I neka dobro ispitaju sudije; ako svjedok onaj bude lažan svjedok i lažno svjedoèi na brata svojega,
and the judges shall make diligent inquisition, —and lo! if the witness be, a false witness and, falsely, have answered against his brother,
19 Uèinite mu onako kako je on mislio uèiniti bratu svojemu; i izvadi zlo iz sebe,
then shall ye do unto him as he had thought to de unto his brother, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst;
20 Da se ostali èuvši to boje, i unapredak više ne èine tako zlo usred tebe.
and, they who remain shall hear and fear, —and not go on to do again according to this wicked thing, in thy midst:
21 Neka ne žali oko tvoje: život za život, oko za oko, zub za zub, ruku za ruku, nogu za nogu.
neither shall thine eye pity, —life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
