1 A Jelisije prorok dozva jednoga izmeðu sinova proroèkih, i reèe mu: opaši se i uzmi ovu uljanicu, pa idi u Ramot Galadski.
And Elisha' the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this flask of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-gil'ad:
2 I kad doðeš onamo, vidjeæeš ondje Juja sina Josafata sina Nimsijina, i ušavši izvedi ga izmeðu braæe njegove i odvedi ga u najtajniju klijet.
And when thou art come thither, look out there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and cause him to stand up from the midst of his brethren, and bring him in to the innermost chamber;
3 I uzmi uljanicu i izlij mu na glavu, i reci: ovako veli Gospod: pomazah te za cara nad Izrailjem. Zatijem otvori vrata i bježi, i ne zabavljaj se.
And thou shalt then take the flask of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus hath said the Lord, I have anointed thee as king over Israel. Then must thou open the door, and flee, and not wait for any thing.
4 I otide mladiæ, momak prorokov, u Ramot Galadski.
So the young man, the disciple of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gil'ad.
5 I kad uðe, gle, sjeðahu vojvode; a on reèe: vojvodo, imam nešto da ti kažem. A Juj mu reèe: kome izmeðu svijeh nas? A on reèe: tebi, vojvodo.
And when he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting; and he said, I have a word for thee, O captain. And Jehu said, For whom of all of us? And he said, For thee, O captain.
6 Tada usta, i uðe u kuæu, a on mu izli na glavu ulje, i reèe mu: ovako veli Gospod Bog Izrailjev: pomazah te za cara nad narodom Gospodnjim, Izrailjem.
And he arose, and went into the house: and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, I anoint thee as king over the people of the Lord, over Israel.
7 I pobij dom Ahava gospodara svojega, jer hoæu da pokajem krv sluga svojih proroka, i krv svijeh sluga Gospodnjijeh od ruke Jezaveljine.
And thou shalt smite the house of Achab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Izebel.
8 I tako æe izginuti sav dom Ahavov, i istrijebiæu Ahavu i ono što uza zid mokri, i uhvaæenoga i ostavljenoga u Izrailju.
And the whole house of Achab shall perish: and I will cut off from Achab every male, and the guarded and fortified in Israel;
9 I uèiniæu s domom Ahavovijem kao s domom Jerovoama sina Navatova i kao s domom Vase sina Ahijina.
And I will make the house of Achab like the house of Jerobo'am the son of Nebat, and like the house of Ba'sha the son of Achiyah;
10 I Jezavelju æe izjesti psi u polju Jezraelskom i neæe biti nikoga da je pogrebe. Potom otvori vrata i pobježe.
And Izebel shall the dogs eat in the field of Yizre'el, with none to bury her. And he [then] opened the door, and fled.
11 A Juj izide k slugama gospodara svojega, i zapitaše ga: je li dobro? što je došao taj bezumnik k tebi? A on im reèe: znate èovjeka i besjedu njegovu.
But Jehu came forth to the servants of his Lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this madman to thee? And he said unto them, Ye yourselves know the man, and his talk.
12 A oni rekoše: nije istina; kaži nam. A on im reèe: tako i tako reèe mi govoreæi: ovako veli Gospod: pomazah te za cara nad Izrailjem.
And they said, It is false: only tell us, we pray thee. And he said, So and so did he speak to me, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, I anoint thee as king over Israel.
13 Tada brže uzeše svak svoju haljinu, i metnuše poda nj na najvišem basamaku, i zatrubiše u trubu i rekoše: Juj posta car.
Then they hastened, and they took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs; and they blew the cornet, saying, Jehu is king.
14 Tako se pobuni Juj sin Josafata sina Nimsijina na Jorama; a Joram èuvaše Ramot Galadski sa svijem Izrailjem od Azaila cara Sirskoga.
So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept guard at Ramoth-gil'ad, he and all Israel, because of Chazael the king of Syria.
15 A bješe se vratio car Joram da se lijeèi u Jezraelu od rana koje mu zadaše Sirci, kad se bijaše s Azailom carem Sirskim. I reèe Juj: ako vam je volja, neka niko ne izlazi iz grada da otide i javi u Jezrael.
But king Jehoram was returned to be healed in Yizre'el of the wounds which the Syrians had inflicted on him, when he was fighting with Chazael the king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If this be your mind, then let none that escapeth go forth out of the city to go to tell it in Yizre'el.
16 I Juj sjede na kola i otide u Jezrael, jer Joram ležaše ondje; i Ohozija car Judin bješe došao da vidi Jorama.
So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Yizre'el; for Joram was lying there. And Achazyah the king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17 A stražar koji stajaše na kuli u Jezraelu, kad ugleda ljudstvo Jujevo gdje ide, reèe: neko ljudstvo vidim. Tada reèe Joram: uzmi konjika i pošlji ga pred njih, i neka zapita: je li mir?
And the watchman stood on the tower in Yizre'el, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came; and he said, A company do I see, And Jehoram said, Take a horseman, and send out to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
18 I otide konjik preda nj, i reèe: ovako veli car: je li mir? A Juj reèe: šta je tebi do mira? hajde za mnom. A stražar javi govoreæi: glasnik doðe do njih, ali se ne vraæa.
So there went one riding on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus hath said the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee about behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came up to them, but he hath not returned.
19 I posla drugoga konjika, koji kad doðe k njima reèe: ovako veli car: je li mir? A Juj reèe: šta je tebi do mira? hajde za mnom.
Then sent he out a second rider on horseback, who came to them, and said, Thus hath said the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee about behind me.
20 Opet javi stražar govoreæi: doðe do njih, ali se ne vraæa; a hod kao da je hod Jujev, jer ide pomamno.
And the watchman told, saying, He came up to them, but he hath not returned: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth as though he were mad.
21 Tada reèe Joram: preži. I upregoše u kola njegova. Tako izide Joram car Izrailjev i Ohozija car Judin, svaki na svojim kolima, i otidoše na susret Juju, i sretoše ga na njivi Navuteja Jezraeljanina.
And Jehoram said, Harness up. And his chariot was harnessed up. And Jehoram the king of Israel and Achazyahu the king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of land of Naboth the Yizre'elite.
22 I kad Joram ugleda Juja, reèe mu: je li mir, Juju? A on odgovori: kakav mir? dok je tolikoga kurvanja Jezavelje matere tvoje i èaranja njezinijeh.
And it came to pass, when Jehoram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he said, What peace can there be with the acts of incest of thy mother Izebel and her many witchcrafts?
23 Tada Joram okrete se i pobježe govoreæi Ohoziji: izdaja, Ohozija!
And Jehoram turned about, and fled, and said to Achazyahu, Treachery, Achazyahu.
24 Ali Juj zgrabi luk svoj i ustrijeli Jorama meðu pleæi da mu strijela proðe kroz srce, te pade u kolima svojim.
And Jehu grasped the bow with his full strength, and struck Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25 Tada reèe Juj Vadekaru vojvodi svom: uzmi ga, i baci ga na njivu Navuteja Jezraeljanina; jer opomeni se kad ja i ti zajedno jahasmo za Ahavom ocem njegovijem, kako Gospod izreèe za nj ovo zlo:
Then said he to Bidkar his officer, Lift up, [and] cast him down in the part of the field that was Naboth's the Yizre'elite; for remember how that I and thou rode alongside each other after Achab his father, when the Lord pronounced over him this fatal decree:
26 Zaista, krv Navutejevu i krv sinova njegovijeh vidjeh sinoæ, reèe Gospod, i platiæu ti na ovoj njivi, reèe Gospod. Zato uzmi ga sad i baci na tu njivu po rijeèi Gospodnjoj.
Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord; and I will repay thee in this part of the field, saith the Lord. And now lift up, [and] cast him down into the field, according to the word of the Lord.
27 A Ohozija car Judin vidjevši to pobježe k domu u vrtu; ali ga potjera Juj, i reèe: ubijte i toga na njegovijem kolima. I raniše ga na brdu Guru, koje je kod Ivleama. I uteèe u Megidon, i ondje umrije.
And when Achazyahu the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden-house; but Jehu pursued after him, and said, Also him smite in the chariot. [And they did so] on the ascent to Gur, which is by Yible'am. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 I sluge ga njegove metnuše na kola i odvezoše u Jerusalim, i pogreboše ga u grobu njegovu kod otaca njegovijeh u gradu Davidovu.
And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29 A jedanaeste godine carovanja Jorama sina Ahavova poèe carovati Ohozija nad Judom.
And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Achab became Achazyah king over Judah.
30 Iza toga Juj doðe u Jezrael. A Jezavelja kad èu, namaza lice svoje i nakiti glavu svoju, pa gledaše s prozora.
And Jehu came to Yizre'el; and when Izebel heard of it, she painted her eyes, and ornamented her head, and looked out at the window.
31 I kad Juj ulažaše na vrata, reèe ona: je li mir, Zimrije, krvnièe gospodara svojega?
And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, O Zimri, who hath slain his master?
32 A on pogleda na prozor i reèe: ko je sa mnom? ko? Tada pogledaše u nj dva tri dvoranina.
And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three chamberlains.
33 A on im reèe: bacite je dolje. I baciše je, i pršte krv njezina po zidu i po konjma, i pogazi je.
And he said, Pitch her down. So they pitched her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses; and he trod her under foot.
34 Potom ušavši jede i pi, pa reèe: vidite onu prokletnicu, i pogrebite je, jer je carska kæi.
And he came in, and ate and drank; and then said he, Look, I pray you, after this accursed one, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.
35 I otidoše da je pogrebu, i ne naðoše od nje ništa do lubanju i stopala i šake.
And they went to bury her: but they found nothing of her but the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
36 I doðoše natrag i javiše, a on reèe: to je rijeè Gospodnja, koju je rekao preko sluge svojega Ilije Tesviæanina govoreæi: u polju Jezraelskom izješæe psi tijelo Jezaveljino.
And they returned, and told him; and he said, It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by means of his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the field of Yizre'el shall the dogs eat the flesh of Izebel:
37 Neka bude tijelo Jezaveljino kao gnoj na njivi u polju Jezraelskom da se ne može kazati: ovo je Jezavelja.
And the carcass of Izebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Yizre'el; so that they shall not say, This is Izebel.
