1 A kad doðe Rovoam u Jerusalim, sazva dom Judin i Venijaminov, sto i osamdeset tisuæa odabranijeh vojnika, da zavojšte na Izrailja da povrate carstvo Rovoamu.
And he came Rehoboam Jerusalem and he called together [the] house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen [man] maker[s] of war to do battle with Israel to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Ali doðe rijeè Gospodnja Semaji èovjeku Božijemu govoreæi:
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Shemaiah [the] man of God saying.
3 Kaži Rovoamu sinu Solomunovu caru Judinu i svijem sinovima Izrailjevijem od Jude i Venijamina, i reci:
Say to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon [the] king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying.
4 Ovako veli Gospod: ne idite i ne bijte se s braæom svojom, vratite se svak svojoj kuæi, jer sam ja naredio tako da bude. I oni poslušaše rijeè Gospodnju i vratiše se i ne idoše na Jerovoama.
Thus he says Yahweh not you must go up and not you must do battle with countrymen your return everyone to own house his for from with me it has occurred the thing this and they obeyed [the] words of Yahweh and they turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 I Rovoam sjede u Jerusalimu, i sazida tvrde gradove u zemlji Judinoj;
And he dwelt Rehoboam in Jerusalem and he built cities to fortification in Judah.
6 Sazida Vitlejem i Itam i Tekuju,
And he built Beth-lehem and Etam and Tekoa.
7 I Vet-Sur i Sohot i Odolam,
And Beth Zur and Socoh and Adullam.
8 I Gat i Marisu i Zif,
And Gath and Mareshah and Ziph.
9 I Adoraim i Lahis i Aziku,
And Adoraim and Lachish and Azekah.
10 I Saraju i Ejalon i Hevron, koji su u zemlji Judinoj i Venijaminovoj tvrdi gradovi.
And Zorah and Aijalon and Hebron which [were] in Judah and in Benjamin cities of fortifications.
11 A kad utvrdi te gradove, namjesti u njima zapovjednike, i staje za žito i za ulje i za vino,
And he strengthened the fortifications and he put in them commanders and supplies of food and oil and wine.
12 I u svakom gradu štitova i kopalja, i utvrdi ih jako. Tako njegov bijaše Juda i Venijamin.
And [were] in every city and a city body shields and spears and he made strong them to abundance exceedingly and it belonged to him Judah and Benjamin.
13 I sveštenici i Leviti, koji bijahu po svemu Izrailju, sabraše se k njemu iz svijeh krajeva svojih.
And the priests and the Levites who [were] in all Israel they took their stand at him from all territory their.
14 Jer ostaviše Leviti podgraða svoja i dostojanja svoja, i otidoše u Judejsku i u Jerusalim, jer ih otjera Jerovoam i sinovi njegovi da ne vrše službe sveštenièke Gospodu.
For they forsook the Levites pasture lands their and property their and they went to Judah and to Jerusalem for he had rejected them Jeroboam and sons his from serving as priests to Yahweh.
15 I postavi sebi sveštenike za visine i za ðavole i za teoce, koje naèini.
And he appointed for himself priests for the high places and for the goats and for the calves which he had made.
16 A za njima iz svijeh plemena Izrailjevijeh koji upraviše srce svoje da traže Gospoda Boga Izrailjeva, doðoše u Jerusalim da prinesu žrtvu Gospodu Bogu otaca svojih.
And after them from all [the] tribes of Israel those [who] set heart their to seek Yahweh [the] God of Israel they came Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
17 I tako utvrdiše carstvo Judino, i ukrijepiše Rovoama sina Solomunova za tri godine, jer za te tri godine hoðahu putem Davidovijem i Solomunovijem.
And they strengthened [the] kingdom of Judah and they strengthened Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon for years three for they walked in [the] way of David and Solomon for years three.
18 A Rovoam se oženi Maeletom kæerju Jerimota sina Davidova i Avihailom kæerju Esijava sina Jesejeva,
And he took for himself Rehoboam a wife Mahalath ([the] daughter of *Q(K)*) Jerimoth [the] son of David Abihail [the] daughter of Eliab [the] son of Jesse.
19 Koja mu rodi sinove: Jeusa i Samariju i Zama.
And she bore to him sons Jeush and Shemariah and Zaham.
20 A poslije nje oženi se Mahom kæerju Avesalomovom, koja mu rodi Aviju i Ataja i Zivu i Selomita.
And after her he took Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom and she bore to him Abijah and Attai and Ziza and Shelomith.
21 A ljubljaše Rovoam Mahu kæer Avesalomovu veæma od svijeh žena svojih i inoèa svojih; jer imaše osamnaest žena i šezdeset inoèa, i rodi dvadeset i osam sinova i šezdeset kæeri.
And he loved Rehoboam Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom more than all wives his and concubines his for wives eight-teen he had taken and concubines sixty and he fathered twenty and eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 I Rovoam postavi Aviju sina Mašina poglavarom i knezom nad braæom njegovom, jer ga šæaše postaviti carem.
And he appointed to the chief Rehoboam Abijah [the] son of Maacah to leader among brothers his for to make king him.
23 I mudro radeæi rasturi sve sinove svoje po svijem krajevima Judinijem i Venijaminovijem, po svijem tvrdijem gradovima, i dade im hrane izobila, i dovede im mnogo žena.
And he acted wisely and he distributed some of all sons his to all [the] lands of Judah and Benjamin to all [the] cities of fortifications and he gave to them food to abundance and he sought a multitude of wives.
