1 A sinovi Izrailjevi po svom broju, glavari domova otaèkih, tisuænici i stotinici i upravitelji njihovi, služahu caru u svakom poslu u redovima, koji dolažahu i odlažahu od mjeseca do mjeseca, svakoga mjeseca u godini; a u svakom redu bijaše ih dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

This is the list of the Israelite family leaders, commanders of thousands and hundreds, as well as army officers who served the king in various ways. Each military division served month by month throughout the year. Each division had twenty-four thousand men.

2 Nad prvijem redom prvoga mjeseca bijaše Jasoveam sin Zavdilov, i u njegovu redu bijaše dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

3 Od sinova Faresovijeh bijaše poglavar nad svijem starješinama u vojsci prvoga mjeseca.

4 A nad redom drugoga mjeseca bijaše Dodaj Ahošanin, i vojvoda u njegovu redu bješe Miklot; i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

Over the division for the second month was Dodai, from the clan descended from Ahoah. Mikloth was second in rank. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

5 Treæi vojvoda treæega mjeseca bješe Venaja sin Jodaja sveštenika, poglavar; i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander of the army for the third month was Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a priest and leader. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

The commander for the sixth month was Ira son of Ikkesh, from Tekoa. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

10 Sedmi, sedmoga mjeseca, Helis Felonjanin od sinova Jefremovijeh, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, from the people of Ephraim. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

11 Osmi, osmoga mjeseca, Sivehaj Husaæanin od sinova Zarinijeh, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the eighth month was Sibbekai the Hushathite, from the clan descended from Zerah. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

12 Deveti, devetoga mjeseca, Avijezer Anatoæanin od sinova Venijaminovih, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, from the tribe of Benjamin. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

13 Deseti, desetoga mjeseca, Maraj Netofaæanin od sinova Zarinijeh, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the tenth month was Maharai from the city of Netophah, from the clan descended from Zerah. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

14 Jedanaesti, jedanaestoga mjeseca, Venaja Faratonjanin od sinova Jefremovijeh, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the eleventh month was Benaiah from the city of Pirathon, from the tribe of Ephraim. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

15 Dvanaesti, dvanaestoga mjeseca, Heldaj Netofaæanin od Gotonila, i u njegovu redu bješe dvadeset i èetiri tisuæe.

The commander for the twelfth month was Heldai from the city of Netophah, from the clan descended from Othniel. In his division were twenty-four thousand men.

16 A nad plemenima Izrailjevijem bijahu: nad plemenom Ruvimovijem knez Elijezer sin Zihrijev; nad Simeunovijem Sefatija sin Mašin;

These were the leaders of the tribes of Israel: For the tribe of Reuben, Eliezer son of Zichri was the leader. For the tribe of Simeon, Shephatiah son of Maacah was the leader.

17 Nad Levijevim Asavija sin Kemuilov; nad Aronovijem Sadok;

For the tribe of Levi, Hashabiah son of Kemuel was the leader, and Zadok led Aaron's descendants.

For the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Azaziah was the leader. For the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel son of Pedaiah was the leader.

21 Nad drugom polovinom plemena Manasijina u Galadu Ido sin Zaharijin; nad Venijaminovim Jasilo sin Avenirov;

For the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo son of Zechariah was the leader. For the tribe of Benjamin, Jaasiel son of Abner was the leader.

22 Nad Danovijem Azareilo sin Jeroamov. To bijahu knezovi plemena Izrailjevijeh.

For the tribe of Dan, Azarel son of Jeroham was the leader. These were the leaders of the tribes of Israel.

Jaziz the Hagrite was in charge of the flocks. All these officials were in charge of the property of King David.

32 A Jonatan stric Davidov bijaše savjetnik, mudar èovjek i književnik; on i Jehilo sin Ahmonijev bijahu sa sinovima carevijem.

Jonathan, David's uncle, was an advisor, since he was a wise man and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hakmoni cared for the king's sons.

33 I Ahitofel bijaše savjetnik carev, i Husaj Arhijanin prijatelj carev.

Ahithophel was the king's advisor, and Hushai from the Arkite people was the king's private advisor.

34 A poslije Ahitofela bijaše Jodaj sin Venajin i Avijatar, a vojvoda carev bješe Joav.

Ahithophel's position was taken by Jehoiada son of Benaiah, and by Abiathar. Joab was commander of the king's army.
