Admonish them to be submissive to governors and magistrates, to obey their orders, and to be ready to every good work;
2 kamapi na nindeyu rnivvirodhina. h k. saantaa"sca bhaveyu. h sarvvaan prati ca puur. na. m m. rdutva. m prakaa"sayeyu"sceti taan aadi"sa|
to slander no man, to avoid contention, to be gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 yata. h puurvva. m vayamapi nirbbodhaa anaaj naagraahi. no bhraantaa naanaabhilaa. saa. naa. m sukhaanaa nca daaseyaa du. s.tatver. syaacaari. no gh. r.nitaa. h paraspara. m dve. si. na"scaabhavaama. h|
For we also were formerly foolish, disobedient, going astray, enslaved to various disorderly appetites and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 kintvasmaaka. m traaturii"svarasya yaa dayaa marttyaanaa. m prati ca yaa priitistasyaa. h praadurbhaave jaate
But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour towards man appeared,
5 vayam aatmak. rtebhyo dharmmakarmmabhyastannahi kintu tasya k. rpaata. h punarjanmaruupe. na prak. saalanena pravitrasyaatmano nuutaniikara. nena ca tasmaat paritraa. naa. m praaptaa. h
not for works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the holy Spirit;
6 sa caasmaaka. m traatraa yii"sukhrii. s.tenaasmadupari tam aatmaana. m pracuratvena v. r.s. tavaan|
which He hath plentifully shed upon us, through Jesus Christ our Saviour:
7 ittha. m vaya. m tasyaanugrahe. na sapu. nyiibhuuya pratyaa"sayaanantajiivanasyaadhikaari. no jaataa. h| (aiōnios g166)
that being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
8 vaakyametad vi"svasaniiyam ato hetorii"svare ye vi"svasitavantaste yathaa satkarmmaa. nyanuti. s.theyustathaa taan d. r.dham aaj naapayeti mamaabhimata. m|taanyevottamaani maanavebhya. h phaladaani ca bhavanti|
This is a word which ought to believed and observed, and concerning these things I would have thee stedfastly affirm, that they who have believed in God be careful to excel in good works: for these things are good and profitable to men.
9 muu. dhebhya. h pra"snava. m"saavalivivaadebhyo vyavasthaayaa vita. n.daabhya"sca nivarttasva yatastaa ni. sphalaa anarthakaa"sca bhavanti|
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and strifes and contentions about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain:
10 yo jano bibhitsustam ekavaara. m dvirvvaa prabodhya duuriikuru,
reject therefore such an heretical man, after the first and second admonition; knowing that such a one is perverted,

and sinneth as being self-condemned.
12 yadaaham aarttimaa. m tukhika. m vaa tava samiipa. m pre. sayi. syaami tadaa tva. m niikapalau mama samiipam aagantu. m yatasva yatastatraivaaha. m "siitakaala. m yaapayitu. m matim akaar. sa. m|
When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, endeavour to come to me to Nicopolis: for there I have determined to winter.
13 vyavasthaapaka. h siinaa aapallu"scaitayo. h kasyaapyabhaavo yanna bhavet tadartha. m tau yatnena tvayaa vis. rjyetaa. m|

14 aparam asmadiiyalokaa yanni. sphalaa na bhaveyustadartha. m prayojaniiyopakaaraayaa satkarmmaa. nyanu. s.thaatu. m "sik. santaa. m|
And let our brethren-also learn to excel in good works for necessary exigencies, that they may not be unfruitful.
15 mama sa"ngina. h savve tvaa. m namaskurvvate| ye vi"svaasaad asmaasu priiyante taan namaskuru; sarvve. su yu. smaasvanugraho bhuuyaat| aamen|
