Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother, to the Assembly of God that is in Corinth, with all the holy ones who are in all Achaia:

2 asmaaka. m taatasye"svarasya prabhoryii"sukhrii. s.tasya caanugraha. h "saanti"sca yu. smaasu varttataa. m|

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

3 k. rpaalu. h pitaa sarvvasaantvanaakaarii"svara"sca yo. asmatprabhoryii"sukhrii. s.tasya taata ii"svara. h sa dhanyo bhavatu|

Blessed [is] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and God of all comfort,

4 yato vayam ii"svaraat saantvanaa. m praapya tayaa saantvanayaa yat sarvvavidhakli. s.taan lokaan saantvayitu. m "saknuyaama tadartha. m so. asmaaka. m sarvvakle"sasamaye. asmaan saantvayati|

who is comforting us in all our tribulation, for our being able to comfort those in any tribulation through the comfort with which we are comforted ourselves by God;

5 yata. h khrii. s.tasya kle"saa yadvad baahulyenaasmaasu varttante tadvad vaya. m khrii. s.tena bahusaantvanaa. dhyaa api bhavaama. h|

because, as the sufferings of the Christ abound to us, so through the Christ our comfort also abounds;

6 vaya. m yadi kli"syaamahe tarhi yu. smaaka. m saantvanaaparitraa. nayo. h k. rte kli"syaamahe yato. asmaabhi ryaad. r"saani du. hkhaani sahyante yu. smaaka. m taad. r"sadu. hkhaanaa. m sahanena tau saadhayi. syete ityasmin yu. smaanadhi mama d. r.dhaa pratyaa"saa bhavati|

and whether we be in tribulation, [it is] for your comfort and salvation, that is worked in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer; whether we are comforted, [it is] for your comfort and salvation;

7 yadi vaa vaya. m saantvanaa. m labhaamahe tarhi yu. smaaka. m saantvanaaparitraa. nayo. h k. rte taamapi labhaamahe| yato yuuya. m yaad. rg du. hkhaanaa. m bhaagino. abhavata taad. rk saantvanaayaa api bhaagino bhavi. syatheti vaya. m jaaniima. h|

and our hope [is] steadfast for you, knowing that even as you are partakers of the sufferings—so also of the comfort.

8 he bhraatara. h, aa"siyaade"se ya. h kle"so. asmaan aakraamyat ta. m yuuya. m yad anavagataasti. s.thata tanmayaa bhadra. m na manyate| tenaati"saktikle"sena vayamatiiva pii. ditaastasmaat jiivanarak. sa. ne nirupaayaa jaataa"sca,

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, of our tribulation that happened to us in Asia, that we were exceedingly burdened above [our] power, so that we even despaired of life;

9 ato vaya. m sve. su na vi"svasya m. rtalokaanaam utthaapayitarii"svare yad vi"svaasa. m kurmmastadartham asmaabhi. h praa. nada. n.do bhoktavya iti svamanasi ni"scita. m|

but we ourselves have had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we may not be trusting on ourselves, but on God, who is raising the dead,

10 etaad. r"sabhaya"nkaraat m. rtyo ryo. asmaan atraayatedaaniimapi traayate sa ita. h paramapyasmaan traasyate. asmaakam etaad. r"sii pratyaa"saa vidyate|

who delivered us out of so great a death, and delivers, in whom we have hoped that even yet He will deliver;

11 etadarthamasmatk. rte praarthanayaa vaya. m yu. smaabhirupakarttavyaastathaa k. rte bahubhi ryaacito yo. anugraho. asmaasu vartti. syate tatk. rte bahubhirii"svarasya dhanyavaado. api kaari. syate|

you also working together for us by your supplication, that the gift through many persons to us, through many, may be thankfully acknowledged for us.

12 apara nca sa. msaaramadhye vi"se. sato yu. smanmadhye vaya. m saa. msaarikyaa dhiyaa nahi kintvii"svarasyaanugrahe. naaku. tilataam ii"svariiyasaaralya ncaacaritavanto. atraasmaaka. m mano yat pramaa. na. m dadaati tena vaya. m "slaaghaamahe|

For our glorying is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you;

13 yu. smaabhi ryad yat pa. thyate g. rhyate ca tadanyat kimapi yu. smabhyam asmaabhi rna likhyate taccaanta. m yaavad yu. smaabhi rgrahii. syata ityasmaakam aa"saa|

for no other things do we write to you, but what you either read or also acknowledge, and I hope that you will also acknowledge to the end,

14 yuuyamita. h puurvvamapyasmaan a. m"sato g. rhiitavanta. h, yata. h prabho ryii"sukhrii. s.tasya dine yadvad yu. smaasvasmaaka. m "slaaghaa tadvad asmaasu yu. smaakamapi "slaaghaa bhavi. syati|

according as you also acknowledged us in part, that we are your glory, even as also you [are] ours, in the Day of the Lord Jesus;

15 apara. m yuuya. m yad dvitiiya. m vara. m labhadhve tadarthamita. h puurvva. m tayaa pratyaa"sayaa yu. smatsamiipa. m gami. syaami

and in this confidence I was intending to come to you before, that you might have a second favor,

16 yu. smadde"sena maakidaniyaade"sa. m vrajitvaa punastasmaat maakidaniyaade"saat yu. smatsamiipam etya yu. smaabhi ryihuudaade"sa. m pre. sayi. sye ceti mama vaa nchaasiit|

and to pass to Macedonia through you, and to come to you again from Macedonia, and to be sent forward by you to Judea.

17 etaad. r"sii mantra. naa mayaa ki. m caa ncalyena k. rtaa? yad yad aha. m mantraye tat ki. m vi. sayilokaiva mantrayaa. na aadau sviik. rtya pa"scaad asviikurvve?

This, therefore, intending, did I then use the lightness; or the things that I counsel, [did] I counsel according to the flesh, that it may be with me Yes, yes, and No, no?

18 yu. smaan prati mayaa kathitaani vaakyaanyagre sviik. rtaani "se. se. asviik. rtaani naabhavan etene"svarasya vi"svastataa prakaa"sate|

And God [is] faithful, that our word to you did not become Yes and No,

19 mayaa silvaanena timathinaa ce"svarasya putro yo yii"sukhrii. s.to yu. smanmadhye gho. sita. h sa tena sviik. rta. h punarasviik. rta"sca tannahi kintu sa tasya sviikaarasvaruupaeva|

for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, having been preached through us among you—through me and Silvanus and Timotheus—did not become Yes and No, but in Him it has become Yes;

20 ii"svarasya mahimaa yad asmaabhi. h prakaa"seta tadartham ii"svare. na yad yat pratij naata. m tatsarvva. m khrii. s.tena sviik. rta. m satyiibhuuta nca|

for as many as [are] promises of God, in Him [are] the Yes, and in Him the Amen, for glory to God through us;

21 yu. smaan asmaa. m"scaabhi. sicya ya. h khrii. s.te sthaasnuun karoti sa ii"svara eva|

and He who is confirming you with us into Christ, and anointed us, [is] God,

22 sa caasmaan mudraa"nkitaan akaar. siit satyaa"nkaarasya pa. nakharuupam aatmaana. m asmaakam anta. hkara. ne. su nirak. sipacca|

who also sealed us, and gave the deposit of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 apara. m yu. smaasu karu. naa. m kurvvan aham etaavatkaala. m yaavat karinthanagara. m na gatavaan iti satyametasmin ii"svara. m saak. si. na. m k. rtvaa mayaa svapraa. naanaa. m "sapatha. h kriyate|

And I call on God for a witness on my soul, that sparing you, I did not come to Corinth yet;

24 vaya. m yu. smaaka. m vi"svaasasya niyantaaro na bhavaama. h kintu yu. smaakam aanandasya sahaayaa bhavaama. h, yasmaad vi"svaase yu. smaaka. m sthiti rbhavati|

not that we are lords over your faith, but we are workers together with your joy, for by faith you stand.
