It is generally reported that there is lewdness among you; and such lewdness as is not even mentioned among the Gentiles―that a certain one has his father’s wife.

2 tathaaca yuuya. m darpadhmaataa aadhbe, tat karmma yena k. rta. m sa yathaa yu. smanmadhyaad duuriikriyate tathaa "soko yu. smaabhi rna kriyate kim etat?

And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken from among you.

3 avidyamaane madiiya"sariire mamaatmaa yu. smanmadhye vidyate ato. aha. m vidyamaana iva tatkarmmakaari. no vicaara. m ni"scitavaan,

For I, indeed, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have already, as if I were present, judged him that has so done this thing;

4 asmatprabho ryii"sukhrii. s.tasya naamnaa yu. smaaka. m madiiyaatmana"sca milane jaate. asmatprabho ryii"sukhrii. s.tasya "sakte. h saahaayyena

5 sa nara. h "sariiranaa"saarthamasmaabhi. h "sayataano haste samarpayitavyastato. asmaaka. m prabho ryii"so rdivase tasyaatmaa rak. saa. m gantu. m "sak. syati|

that we deliver such a one over to Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6 yu. smaaka. m darpo na bhadraaya yuuya. m kimetanna jaaniitha, yathaa, vikaara. h k. rtsna"saktuunaa. m svalpaki. nvena jaayate|

Your boasting is not good; know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole mass?

7 yuuya. m yat naviina"saktusvaruupaa bhaveta tadartha. m puraatana. m ki. nvam avamaarjjata yato yu. smaabhi. h ki. nva"suunyai rbhavitavya. m| aparam asmaaka. m nistaarotsaviiyame. sa"saavako ya. h khrii. s.ta. h so. asmadartha. m baliik. rto. abhavat|

Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new mass, as you are without leaven; for Christ, our passover, has been sacrificed for us.

8 ata. h puraatanaki. nvenaarthato du. s.tataajighaa. msaaruupe. na ki. nvena tannahi kintu saaralyasatyatvaruupayaa ki. nva"suunyatayaasmaabhirutsava. h karttavya. h|

Therefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of purity and truth.

9 vyaabhicaari. naa. m sa. msargo yu. smaabhi rvihaatavya iti mayaa patre likhita. m|

I have written to you in the letter not to associate with lewd persons;

10 kintvaihikalokaanaa. m madhye ye vyabhicaari. no lobhina upadraavi. no devapuujakaa vaa te. saa. m sa. msarga. h sarvvathaa vihaatavya iti nahi, vihaatavye sati yu. smaabhi rjagato nirgantavyameva|

yet without the lest allusion to the lewd, or the covetous, or the extortioners, or the idolaters of this world; for then you must go out of the world;

11 kintu bhraat. rtvena vikhyaata. h ka"scijjano yadi vyabhicaarii lobhii devapuujako nindako madyapa upadraavii vaa bhavet tarhi taad. r"sena maanavena saha bhojanapaane. api yu. smaabhi rna karttavye ityadhunaa mayaa likhita. m|

but now I write to you, not to associate with any one professing to be a brother, if he is lewd or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one not even to eat.

12 samaajabahi. hsthitaanaa. m lokaanaa. m vicaarakara. ne mama ko. adhikaara. h? kintu tadantargataanaa. m vicaara. na. m yu. smaabhi. h ki. m na karttavya. m bhavet?

For what right have I to judge those who are without? Do you not judge those who are within?

13 bahi. hsthaanaa. m tu vicaara ii"svare. na kaari. syate| ato yu. smaabhi. h sa paatakii svamadhyaad bahi. skriyataa. m|

But God will judge those who are without. So then judge, and put away that wicked man from among you.
