ཡོཧནཿ 12
1 ནིསྟཱརོཏྶཝཱཏ྄ པཱུཪྻྭཾ དིནཥཊྐེ སྠིཏེ ཡཱིཤུ ཪྻཾ པྲམཱིཏམ྄ ཨིལིཡཱསརཾ ཤྨཤཱནཱད྄ ཨུདསྠཱཔརཏ྄ ཏསྱ ནིཝཱསསྠཱནཾ བཻཐནིཡཱགྲཱམམ྄ ཨཱགཙྪཏ྄།
Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, who He had raised from the dead.
2 ཏཏྲ ཏདརྠཾ རཛནྱཱཾ བྷོཛྱེ ཀྲྀཏེ མརྠཱ པཪྻྱཝེཥཡད྄ ཨིལིཡཱསར྄ ཙ ཏསྱ སངྒིབྷིཿ སཱརྡྡྷཾ བྷོཛནཱསན ཨུཔཱཝིཤཏ྄།
There they made Him a supper, and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.
3 ཏདཱ མརིཡམ྄ ཨརྡྡྷསེཊཀཾ བཧུམཱུལྱཾ ཛཊཱམཱཾསཱིཡཾ ཏཻལམ྄ ཨཱནཱིཡ ཡཱིཤོཤྩརཎཡོ རྨརྡྡཡིཏྭཱ ནིཛཀེཤ རྨཱརྵྚུམ྄ ཨཱརབྷཏ; ཏདཱ ཏཻལསྱ པརིམལེན གྲྀཧམ྄ ཨཱམོདིཏམ྄ ཨབྷཝཏ྄།
Then Mary took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 ཡཿ ཤིམོནཿ པུཏྲ རིཥྐརིཡོཏཱིཡོ ཡིཧཱུདཱནཱམཱ ཡཱིཤུཾ པརཀརེཥུ སམརྤཡིཥྱཏི ས ཤིཥྱསྟདཱ ཀཐིཏཝཱན྄,
Then one of Jesus’ disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who was about to betray Him, said,
5 ཨེཏཏྟཻལཾ ཏྲིབྷིཿ ཤཏཻ རྨུདྲཱཔདཻ ཪྻིཀྲཱིཏཾ སད྄ དརིདྲེབྷྱཿ ཀུཏོ ནཱདཱིཡཏ?
“Why wasn’t this fragrant oil sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
6 ས དརིདྲལོཀཱརྠམ྄ ཨཙིནྟཡད྄ ཨིཏི ན, ཀིནྟུ ས ཙཽར ཨེཝཾ ཏནྣིཀཊེ མུདྲཱསམྤུཊཀསྠིཏྱཱ ཏནྨདྷྱེ ཡདཏིཥྛཏ྄ ཏདཔཱཧརཏ྄ ཏསྨཱཏ྄ ཀཱརཎཱད྄ ཨིམཱཾ ཀཐཱམཀཐཡཏ྄།
Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and since he had the money box, he used to steal from what was put into it.
7 ཏདཱ ཡཱིཤུརཀཐཡད྄ ཨེནཱཾ མཱ ཝཱརཡ སཱ མམ ཤྨཤཱནསྠཱཔནདིནཱརྠཾ ཏདརཀྵཡཏ྄།
Jesus therefore said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
8 དརིདྲཱ ཡུཥྨཱཀཾ སནྣིདྷཽ སཪྻྭདཱ ཏིཥྛནྟི ཀིནྟྭཧཾ སཪྻྭདཱ ཡུཥྨཱཀཾ སནྣིདྷཽ ན ཏིཥྛཱམི།
You will always have the poor among you, but you won’t always have me.”
9 ཏཏཿ པརཾ ཡཱིཤུསྟཏྲཱསྟཱིཏི ཝཱརྟྟཱཾ ཤྲུཏྭཱ བཧཝོ ཡིཧཱུདཱིཡཱསྟཾ ཤྨཤཱནཱདུཏྠཱཔིཏམ྄ ཨིལིཡཱསརཉྩ དྲཥྚུཾ ཏཏ྄ སྠཱནམ྄ ཨཱགཙྪན།
Then a great multitude of the Jews learned that He was there; and they came, not just for Jesus’ sake, but also so that they could see Lazarus, who He had raised from the dead.
10 ཏདཱ པྲདྷཱནཡཱཛཀཱསྟམ྄ ཨིལིཡཱསརམཔི སཾཧརྟྟུམ྄ ཨམནྟྲཡན྄;
So the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too,
11 ཡཏསྟེན བཧཝོ ཡིཧཱུདཱིཡཱ གཏྭཱ ཡཱིཤཽ ཝྱཤྭསན྄།
because on account of him many of the Jews were going away, and were believing in Jesus.
12 ཨནནྟརཾ ཡཱིཤུ ཪྻིརཱུཤཱལམ྄ ནགརམ྄ ཨཱགཙྪཏཱིཏི ཝཱརྟྟཱཾ ཤྲུཏྭཱ པརེ྅ཧནི ཨུཏྶཝཱགཏཱ བཧཝོ ལོཀཱཿ
The next day, when a great multitude that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 ཁརྫྫཱུརཔཏྲཱདྱཱནཱིཡ ཏཾ སཱཀྵཱཏ྄ ཀརྟྟུཾ བཧིརཱགཏྱ ཛཡ ཛཡེཏི ཝཱཙཾ པྲོཙྩཻ ཪྻཀྟུམ྄ ཨཱརབྷནྟ, ཨིསྲཱཡེལོ ཡོ རཱཛཱ པརམེཤྭརསྱ ནཱམྣཱགཙྪཏི ས དྷནྱཿ།
they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and shouted: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ The King of Israel!”
14 ཏདཱ "ཧེ སིཡོནཿ ཀནྱེ མཱ བྷཻཥཱིཿ པཤྱཱཡཾ ཏཝ རཱཛཱ གརྡྡབྷཤཱཝཀམ྄ ཨཱརུཧྱཱགཙྪཏི"
Then Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it, as it is written:
15 ཨིཏི ཤཱསྟྲཱིཡཝཙནཱནུསཱརེཎ ཡཱིཤུརེཀཾ ཡུཝགརྡྡབྷཾ པྲཱཔྱ ཏདུཔཪྻྱཱརོཧཏ྄།
“Don’t be afraid, Daughter of Zion; look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
16 ཨསྱཱཿ གྷཊནཱཡཱསྟཱཏྤཪྻྱཾ ཤིཥྱཱཿ པྲཐམཾ ནཱབུདྷྱནྟ, ཀིནྟུ ཡཱིཤཽ མཧིམཱནཾ པྲཱཔྟེ སཏི ཝཱཀྱམིདཾ ཏསྨིན ཨཀཐྱཏ ལོཀཱཤྩ ཏམྤྲཏཱིཏྠམ྄ ཨཀུཪྻྭན྄ ཨིཏི ཏེ སྨྲྀཏཝནྟཿ།
His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
17 ས ཨིལིཡཱསརཾ ཤྨཤཱནཱད྄ ཨཱགནྟུམ྄ ཨཱཧྭཏཝཱན྄ ཤྨཤཱནཱཉྩ ཨུདསྠཱཔཡད྄ ཡེ ཡེ ལོཀཱསྟཏྐརྨྱ སཱཀྵཱད྄ ཨཔཤྱན྄ ཏེ པྲམཱཎཾ དཱཏུམ྄ ཨཱརབྷནྟ།
So the crowd that had been with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to testify.
18 ས ཨེཏཱདྲྀཤམ྄ ཨདྦྷུཏཾ ཀརྨྨཀརོཏ྄ ཏསྱ ཛནཤྲུཏེ རློཀཱསྟཾ སཱཀྵཱཏ྄ ཀརྟྟུམ྄ ཨཱགཙྪན྄།
The crowd also met Him because they heard that He had done this sign.
19 ཏཏཿ ཕིརཱུཤིནཿ པརསྤརཾ ཝཀྟུམ྄ ཨཱརབྷནྟ ཡུཥྨཱཀཾ སཪྻྭཱཤྩེཥྚཱ ཝྲྀཐཱ ཛཱཏཱཿ, ཨིཏི ཀིཾ ཡཱུཡཾ ན བུདྷྱདྷྭེ? པཤྱཏ སཪྻྭེ ལོཀཱསྟསྱ པཤྩཱདྭརྟྟིནོབྷཝན྄།
Then the Pharisees said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the whole world has gone after Him!”
20 བྷཛནཾ ཀརྟྟུམ྄ ཨུཏྶཝཱགཏཱནཱཾ ལོཀཱནཱཾ ཀཏིཔཡཱ ཛནཱ ཨནྱདེཤཱིཡཱ ཨཱསན྄,
Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
21 ཏེ གཱལཱིལཱིཡབཻཏྶཻདཱནིཝཱསིནཿ ཕིལིཔསྱ སམཱིཔམ྄ ཨཱགཏྱ ཝྱཱཧརན྄ ཧེ མཧེཙྪ ཝཡཾ ཡཱིཤུཾ དྲཥྚུམ྄ ཨིཙྪཱམཿ།
Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and told him, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”
22 ཏཏཿ ཕིལིཔོ གཏྭཱ ཨཱནྡྲིཡམ྄ ཨཝདཏ྄ པཤྩཱད྄ ཨཱནྡྲིཡཕིལིཔཽ ཡཱིཤཝེ ཝཱརྟྟཱམ྄ ཨཀཐཡཏཱཾ།
Philip came and told Andrew, then Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.
23 ཏདཱ ཡཱིཤུཿ པྲཏྱུདིཏཝཱན྄ མཱནཝསུཏསྱ མཧིམཔྲཱཔྟིསམཡ ཨུཔསྠིཏཿ།
Jesus answered them, saying, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 ཨཧཾ ཡུཥྨཱནཏིཡཐཱརྠཾ ཝདཱམི, དྷཱནྱབཱིཛཾ མྲྀཏྟིཀཱཡཱཾ པཏིཏྭཱ ཡདི ན མྲྀཡཏེ ཏརྷྱེཀཱཀཱི ཏིཥྛཏི ཀིནྟུ ཡདི མྲྀཡཏེ ཏརྷི བཧུགུཎཾ ཕལཾ ཕལཏི།
Most assuredly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces many grains.
25 ཡོ ཛནེ ནིཛཔྲཱཎཱན྄ པྲིཡཱན྄ ཛཱནཱཏི ས ཏཱན྄ ཧཱརཡིཥྱཏི ཀིནྟུ ཡེ ཛན ཨིཧལོཀེ ནིཛཔྲཱཎཱན྄ ཨཔྲིཡཱན྄ ཛཱནཱཏི སེནནྟཱཡུཿ པྲཱཔྟུཾ ཏཱན྄ རཀྵིཥྱཏི། (aiōnios g166)
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, and anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 ཀཤྩིད྄ ཡདི མམ སེཝཀོ བྷཝིཏུཾ ཝཱཉྪཏི ཏརྷི ས མམ པཤྩཱདྒཱམཱི བྷཝཏུ, ཏསྨཱད྄ ཨཧཾ ཡཏྲ ཏིཥྛཱམི མམ སེཝཀེཔི ཏཏྲ སྠཱསྱཏི; ཡོ ཛནོ མཱཾ སེཝཏེ མམ པིཏཱཔི ཏཾ སམྨཾསྱཏེ།
If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor them.
27 སཱམྤྲཏཾ མམ པྲཱཎཱ ཝྱཱཀུལཱ བྷཝནྟི, ཏསྨཱད྄ ཧེ པིཏར ཨེཏསྨཱཏ྄ སམཡཱན྄ མཱཾ རཀྵ, ཨིཏྱཧཾ ཀིཾ པྲཱརྠཡིཥྱེ? ཀིནྟྭཧམ྄ ཨེཏཏྶམཡཱརྠམ྄ ཨཝཏཱིརྞཝཱན྄།
“Now my soul has become troubled; and what will I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? No, for this purpose I came to this time.
28 ཧེ པིཏ: སྭནཱམྣོ མཧིམཱནཾ པྲཀཱཤཡ; ཏནཻཝ སྭནཱམྣོ མཧིམཱནམ྄ ཨཧཾ པྲཱཀཱཤཡཾ པུནརཔི པྲཀཱཤཡིཥྱཱམི, ཨེཥཱ གགཎཱིཡཱ ཝཱཎཱི ཏསྨིན྄ སམཡེ྅ཛཱཡཏ།
Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from Heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
29 ཏཙྴྲུཏྭཱ སམཱིཔསྠལོཀཱནཱཾ ཀེཙིད྄ ཨཝདན྄ མེགྷོ྅གརྫཱིཏ྄, ཀེཙིད྄ ཨཝདན྄ སྭརྒཱིཡདཱུཏོ྅ནེན སཧ ཀཐཱམཙཀཐཏ྄།
Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 ཏདཱ ཡཱིཤུཿ པྲཏྱཝཱདཱིཏ྄, མདརྠཾ ཤབྡོཡཾ ནཱབྷཱུཏ྄ ཡུཥྨདརྠམེཝཱབྷཱུཏ྄།
Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
31 ཨདྷུནཱ ཛགཏོསྱ ཝིཙཱར: སམྤཏྶྱཏེ, ཨདྷུནཱསྱ ཛགཏ: པཏཱི རཱཛྱཱཏ྄ ཙྱོཥྱཏི།
Now judgment is upon this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
32 ཡདྱཨཱི པྲྀཐིཝྱཱ ཨཱུརྡྭྭེ པྲོཏྠཱཔིཏོསྨི ཏརྷི སཪྻྭཱན྄ མཱནཝཱན྄ སྭསམཱིཔམ྄ ཨཱཀརྵིཥྱཱམི།
And I, if I am lifted up from the Earth, will draw everyone to myself.”
33 ཀཐཾ ཏསྱ མྲྀཏི རྦྷཝིཥྱཏི, ཨེཏད྄ བོདྷཡིཏུཾ ས ཨིམཱཾ ཀཐཱམ྄ ཨཀཐཡཏ྄།
He was saying this to indicate the kind of death He was about to die.
34 ཏདཱ ལོཀཱ ཨཀཐཡན྄ སོབྷིཥིཀྟཿ སཪྻྭདཱ ཏིཥྛཏཱིཏི ཝྱཝསྠཱགྲནྠེ ཤྲུཏམ྄ ཨསྨཱབྷིཿ, ཏརྷི མནུཥྱཔུཏྲཿ པྲོཏྠཱཔིཏོ བྷཝིཥྱཏཱིཏི ཝཱཀྱཾ ཀཐཾ ཝདསི? མནུཥྱཔུཏྲོཡཾ ཀཿ? (aiōn g165)
Therefore the crowd answered Him, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever, so how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” (aiōn g165)
35 ཏདཱ ཡཱིཤུརཀཐཱཡད྄ ཡུཥྨཱབྷིཿ སཱརྡྡྷམ྄ ཨལྤདིནཱནི ཛྱོཏིརཱསྟེ, ཡཐཱ ཡུཥྨཱན྄ ཨནྡྷཀཱརོ ནཱཙྪཱདཡཏི ཏདརྠཾ ཡཱཝཏྐཱལཾ ཡུཥྨཱབྷིཿ སཱརྡྡྷཾ ཛྱོཏིསྟིཥྛཏི ཏཱཝཏྐཱལཾ གཙྪཏ; ཡོ ཛནོ྅ནྡྷཀཱརེ གཙྪཏི ས ཀུཏྲ ཡཱཏཱིཏི ན ཛཱནཱཏི།
Jesus told them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you don’t know where you are going.
36 ཨཏཨེཝ ཡཱཝཏྐཱལཾ ཡུཥྨཱཀཾ ནིཀཊེ ཛྱོཏིརཱསྟེ ཏཱཝཏྐཱལཾ ཛྱོཏཱིརཱུཔསནྟཱནཱ བྷཝིཏུཾ ཛྱོཏིཥི ཝིཤྭསིཏ; ཨིམཱཾ ཀཐཱཾ ཀཐཡིཏྭཱ ཡཱིཤུཿ པྲསྠཱཡ ཏེབྷྱཿ སྭཾ གུཔྟཝཱན྄།
Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.
37 ཡདྱཔི ཡཱིཤུསྟེཥཱཾ སམཀྵམ྄ ཨེཏཱཝདཱཤྩཪྻྱཀརྨྨཱཎི ཀྲྀཏཝཱན྄ ཏཐཱཔི ཏེ ཏསྨིན྄ ན ཝྱཤྭསན྄།
Although He had performed so many signs in front of them, they still didn’t believe in Him,
38 ཨཏཨེཝ ཀཿ པྲཏྱེཏི སུསཾཝཱདཾ པརེཤཱསྨཏ྄ པྲཙཱརིཏཾ? པྲཀཱཤཏེ པརེཤསྱ ཧསྟཿ ཀསྱ ཙ སནྣིདྷཽ? ཡིཤཡིཡབྷཝིཥྱདྭཱདིནཱ ཡདེཏད྄ ཝཱཀྱམུཀྟཾ ཏཏ྄ སཕལམ྄ ཨབྷཝཏ྄།
so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And who has the arm of the LORD been revealed to?”
39 ཏེ པྲཏྱེཏུཾ ནཱཤནྐུཝན྄ ཏསྨིན྄ ཡིཤཡིཡབྷཝིཥྱདྭཱདི པུནརཝཱདཱིད྄,
Therefore they couldn’t believe, because Isaiah said again:
40 ཡདཱ, "ཏེ ནཡནཻ རྣ པཤྱནྟི བུདྡྷིབྷིཤྩ ན བུདྷྱནྟེ ཏཻ རྨནཿསུ པརིཝརྟྟིཏེཥུ ཙ ཏཱནཧཾ ཡཐཱ སྭསྠཱན྄ ན ཀརོམི ཏཐཱ ས ཏེཥཱཾ ལོཙནཱནྱནྡྷཱནི ཀྲྀཏྭཱ ཏེཥཱམནྟཿཀརཎཱནི གཱཌྷཱནི ཀརིཥྱཏི། "
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts and turn — and I would heal them.”
41 ཡིཤཡིཡོ ཡདཱ ཡཱིཤོ རྨཧིམཱནཾ ཝིལོཀྱ ཏསྨིན྄ ཀཐཱམཀཐཡཏ྄ ཏདཱ བྷཝིཥྱདྭཱཀྱམ྄ ཨཱིདྲྀཤཾ པྲཀཱཤཡཏ྄།
Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.
42 ཏཐཱཔྱདྷིཔཏིནཱཾ བཧཝསྟསྨིན྄ པྲཏྱཱཡན྄། ཀིནྟུ ཕིརཱུཤིནསྟཱན྄ བྷཛནགྲྀཧཱད྄ དཱུརཱིཀུཪྻྭནྟཱིཏི བྷཡཱཏ྄ ཏེ ཏཾ ན སྭཱིཀྲྀཏཝནྟཿ།
Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they weren’t confessing Him, for fear that they might be put out of the synagogue;
43 ཡཏ ཨཱིཤྭརསྱ པྲཤཾསཱཏོ མཱནཝཱནཱཾ པྲཤཾསཱཡཱཾ ཏེ྅པྲིཡནྟ།
because they sincerely loved men’s approval more than God’s approval.
44 ཏདཱ ཡཱིཤུརུཙྩཻཿཀཱརམ྄ ཨཀཐཡད྄ ཡོ ཛནོ མཡི ཝིཤྭསིཏི ས ཀེཝལེ མཡི ཝིཤྭསིཏཱིཏི ན, ས མཏྤྲེརཀེ྅པི ཝིཤྭསིཏི།
Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me doesn’t just believe in me, but in Him who sent me.
45 ཡོ ཛནོ མཱཾ པཤྱཏི ས མཏྤྲེརཀམཔི པཤྱཏི།
Whoever sees me sees Him who sent me.
46 ཡོ ཛནོ མཱཾ པྲཏྱེཏི ས ཡཐཱནྡྷཀཱརེ ན ཏིཥྛཏི ཏདརྠམ྄ ཨཧཾ ཛྱོཏིཿསྭརཱུཔོ བྷཱུཏྭཱ ཛགཏྱསྨིན྄ ཨཝཏཱིརྞཝཱན྄།
I have come into the world as light, that everyone who believes in me should not stay in darkness.
47 མམ ཀཐཱཾ ཤྲུཏྭཱ ཡདི ཀཤྩིན྄ ན ཝིཤྭསིཏི ཏརྷི ཏམཧཾ དོཥིཎཾ ན ཀརོམི, ཡཏོ ཧེཏོ རྫགཏོ ཛནཱནཱཾ དོཥཱན྄ ནིཤྩིཏཱན྄ ཀརྟྟུཾ ནཱགཏྱ ཏཱན྄ པརིཙཱཏུམ྄ ཨཱགཏོསྨི།
If anyone hears the words I speak, and doesn’t keep them, I don’t judge them; because I didn’t come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 ཡཿ ཀཤྩིན྄ མཱཾ ན ཤྲདྡྷཱཡ མམ ཀཐཾ ན གྲྀཧླཱཏི, ཨནྱསྟཾ དོཥིཎཾ ཀརིཥྱཏི ཝསྟུཏསྟུ ཡཱཾ ཀཐཱམཧམ྄ ཨཙཀཐཾ སཱ ཀཐཱ ཙརམེ྅ནྷི ཏཾ དོཥིཎཾ ཀརིཥྱཏི།
Whoever rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges them. The words that I spoke are what will judge him at the last day.
49 ཡཏོ ཧེཏོརཧཾ སྭཏཿ ཀིམཔི ན ཀཐཡཱམི, ཀིཾ ཀིཾ མཡཱ ཀཐཡིཏཝྱཾ ཀིཾ སམུཔདེཥྚཝྱཉྩ ཨིཏི མཏྤྲེརཡིཏཱ པིཏཱ མཱམཱཛྙཱཔཡཏ྄།
For I haven’t spoken on my own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent me has given me commandment, what to say, and what to speak.
