1 อนนฺตรํ ษฑฺทิเนภฺย: ปรํ ยีศุ: ปิตรํ ยากูพํ ตตฺสหชํ โยหนญฺจ คฺฤหฺลนฺ อุจฺจาเทฺร รฺวิวิกฺตสฺถานมฺ อาคตฺย เตษำ สมกฺษํ รูปมนฺยตฺ ทธารฯ
After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
2 เตน ตทาสฺยํ เตชสฺวิ, ตทาภรณมฺ อาโลกวตฺ ปาณฺฑรมภวตฺฯ
There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
3 อนฺยจฺจ เตน สากํ สํลปนฺเตา มูสา เอลิยศฺจ เตโภฺย ทรฺศนํ ททตุ: ฯ
Suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them, talking with Jesus.
4 ตทานีํ ปิตโร ยีศุํ ชคาท, เห ปฺรโภ สฺถิติรตฺราสฺมากํ ศุภา, ยทิ ภวตานุมนฺยเต, ตรฺหิ ภวทรฺถเมกํ มูสารฺถเมกมฺ เอลิยารฺถญฺไจกมฺ อิติ ตฺรีณิ ทูษฺยาณิ นิรฺมฺมมฯ
Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will put up three shelters —one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 เอตตฺกถนกาล เอก อุชฺชวล: ปโยทเสฺตษามุปริ ฉายำ กฺฤตวานฺ, วาริทาทฺ เอษา นภสียา วาคฺ พภูว, มมายํ ปฺริย: ปุตฺร: , อสฺมินฺ มม มหาสนฺโตษ เอตสฺย วากฺยํ ยูยํ นิศามยตฯ
While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”
6 กินฺตุ วาจเมตำ ศฺฤณฺวนฺเตอว ศิษฺยา มฺฤศํ ศงฺกมานา นฺยุพฺชา นฺยปตนฺฯ
When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror.
7 ตทา ยีศุราคตฺย เตษำ คาตฺราณิ สฺปฺฤศนฺ อุวาจ, อุตฺติษฺฐต, มา ไภษฺฏฯ
Then Jesus came over and touched them. “Get up,” He said. “Do not be afraid.”
8 ตทานีํ เนตฺราณฺยุนฺมีลฺย ยีศุํ วินา กมปิ น ททฺฤศุ: ฯ
And when they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9 ตต: ปรมฺ อเทฺรรวโรหณกาเล ยีศุสฺตานฺ อิตฺยาทิเทศ, มนุชสุตสฺย มฺฤตานำ มธฺยาทุตฺถานํ ยาวนฺน ชายเต, ตาวตฺ ยุษฺมาภิเรตทฺทรฺศนํ กไสฺมจิทปิ น กถยิตวฺยํฯ
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”
10 ตทา ศิษฺยาสฺตํ ปปฺรจฺฉุ: , ปฺรถมมฺ เอลิย อายาสฺยตีติ กุต อุปาธฺยาไยรุจฺยเต?
The disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11 ตโต ยีศุ: ปฺรตฺยวาทีตฺ, เอลิย: ปฺราเคตฺย สรฺวฺวาณิ สาธยิษฺยตีติ สตฺยํ,
Jesus replied, “Elijah does indeed come, and he will restore all things.
12 กินฺตฺวหํ ยุษฺมานฺ วจฺมิ, เอลิย เอตฺย คต: , เต ตมปริจิตฺย ตสฺมินฺ ยเถจฺฉํ วฺยวชหุ: ; มนุชสุเตนาปิ เตษามนฺติเก ตาทฺฤคฺ ทุ: ขํ โภกฺตวฺยํฯ
But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him whatever they wished. In the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.”
13 ตทานีํ ส มชฺชยิตารํ โยหนมธิ กถาเมตำ วฺยาหฺฤตวานฺ, อิตฺถํ ตจฺฉิษฺยา พุพุธิเรฯ
Then the disciples understood that He was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
14 ปศฺจาตฺ เตษุ ชนนิวหสฺยานฺติกมาคเตษุ กศฺจิตฺ มนุชสฺตทนฺติกเมตฺย ชานูนี ปาตยิตฺวา กถิตวานฺ,
When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus and knelt before Him.
15 เห ปฺรโภ, มตฺปุตฺรํ ปฺรติ กฺฤปำ วิทธาตุ, โสปสฺมารามเยน ภฺฤศํ วฺยถิต: สนฺ ปุน: ปุน รฺวเหฺนา มุหุ รฺชลมเธฺย ปตติฯ
“Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.
16 ตสฺมาทฺ ภวต: ศิษฺยาณำ สมีเป ตมานยํ กินฺตุ เต ตํ สฺวาสฺถํ กรฺตฺตุํ น ศกฺตา: ฯ
I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
17 ตทา ยีศุ: กถิตวานฺ เร อวิศฺวาสิน: , เร วิปถคามิน: , ปุน: กติกาลานฺ อหํ ยุษฺมากํ สนฺนิเธา สฺถาสฺยามิ? กติกาลานฺ วา ยุษฺมานฺ สหิเษฺย? ตมตฺร มมานฺติกมานยตฯ
“O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.”
18 ปศฺจาทฺ ยีศุนา ตรฺชเตอว ส ภูตสฺตํ วิหาย คตวานฺ, ตทฺทณฺเฑอว ส พาลโก นิรามโย'ภูตฺฯ
Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
19 ตต: ศิษฺยา คุปฺตํ ยีศุมุปาคตฺย พภาษิเร, กุโต วยํ ตํ ภูตํ ตฺยาชยิตุํ น ศกฺตา: ?
Afterward the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 ยีศุนา เต โปฺรกฺตา: , ยุษฺมากมปฺรตฺยยาตฺ;
“Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
21 ยุษฺมานหํ ตถฺยํ วจฺมิ ยทิ ยุษฺมากํ สรฺษไปกมาโตฺรปิ วิศฺวาโส ชายเต, ตรฺหิ ยุษฺมาภิรสฺมินฺ ไศเล ตฺวมิต: สฺถานาตฺ ตตฺ สฺถานํ ยาหีติ พฺรูเต ส ตไทว จลิษฺยติ, ยุษฺมากํ กิมปฺยสาธฺยญฺจ กรฺมฺม น สฺถาสฺยาติฯ กินฺตุ ปฺรารฺถโนปวาเสา วิไนตาทฺฤโศ ภูโต น ตฺยาเชฺยตฯ
22 อปรํ เตษำ คาลีลฺปฺรเทเศ ภฺรมณกาเล ยีศุนา เต คทิตา: , มนุชสุโต ชนานำ กเรษุ สมรฺปยิษฺยเต ไต รฺหนิษฺยเต จ,
When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.
23 กินฺตุ ตฺฤตีเย'หิน ม อุตฺถาปิษฺยเต, เตน เต ภฺฤศํ ทุ: ขิตา พภูว: ฯ
They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply grieved.
24 ตทนนฺตรํ เตษุ กผรฺนาหูมฺนครมาคเตษุ กรสํคฺราหิณ: ปิตรานฺติกมาคตฺย ปปฺรจฺฉุ: , ยุษฺมากํ คุรุ: กึ มนฺทิรารฺถํ กรํ น ททาติ? ตต: ปิตร: กถิตวานฺ ททาติฯ
After they had arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, “Does your Teacher pay the two drachmas?”
25 ตตสฺตสฺมินฺ คฺฤหมธฺยมาคเต ตสฺย กถากถนาตฺ ปูรฺวฺวเมว ยีศุรุวาจ, เห ศิโมนฺ, เมทินฺยา ราชาน: สฺวสฺวาปเตฺยภฺย: กึ วิเทศิภฺย: เกภฺย: กรํ คฺฤหฺลนฺติ? อตฺร ตฺวํ กึ พุธฺยเส? ตต: ปิตร อุกฺตวานฺ, วิเทศิภฺย: ฯ
“Yes,” he answered. When Peter entered the house, Jesus preempted him. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?”
26 ตทา ยีศุรุกฺตวานฺ, ตรฺหิ สนฺตานา มุกฺตา: สนฺติฯ
“From others,” Peter answered. “Then the sons are exempt,” Jesus declared.
27 ตถาปิ ยถาสฺมาภิเสฺตษามนฺตราโย น ชนฺยเต, ตตฺกฺฤเต ชลเธสฺตีรํ คตฺวา วฑิศํ กฺษิป, เตนาเทา โย มีน อุตฺถาสฺยติ, ตํ ฆฺฤตฺวา ตนฺมุเข โมจิเต โตลไกกํ รูปฺยํ ปฺราปฺสฺยสิ, ตทฺ คฺฤหีตฺวา ตว มม จ กฺฤเต เตโภฺย เทหิฯ
“But so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish you catch. When you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for My tax and yours.”
