1 อปรญฺจ ยีศุ รฺทฺวาทศภิ: ศิไษฺย: สารฺทฺธํ นานานคเรษุ นานาคฺราเมษุ จ คจฺฉนฺ อิศฺวรียราชตฺวสฺย สุสํวาทํ ปฺรจารยิตุํ ปฺราเรเภฯ
And it came to pass, in due course, that he was passing through, city by city and village by village, proclaiming, and delivering the glad-message of the kingdom of God, —and, the twelve, were with him;
2 ตทา ยสฺยา: สปฺต ภูตา นิรคจฺฉนฺ สา มคฺทลีนีติ วิขฺยาตา มริยมฺ เหโรทฺราชสฺย คฺฤหาธิปเต: โหเษ รฺภารฺยฺยา โยหนา ศูศานา
and certain women, who had been cured from evil spirits and infirmities, —Mary, the one called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone forth,
3 ปฺรภฺฤตโย ยา พหฺวฺย: สฺตฺริย: ทุษฺฏภูเตโภฺย โรเคภฺยศฺจ มุกฺตา: สโตฺย นิชวิภูตี รฺวฺยยิตฺวา ตมเสวนฺต, ตา: สรฺวฺวาเสฺตน สารฺทฺธมฺ อาสนฺฯ
and Joana, wife of Chuza steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others, —who indeed were ministering unto them out of their possessions.
4 อนนฺตรํ นานานคเรโภฺย พหโว โลกา อาคตฺย ตสฺย สมีเป'มิลนฺ, ตทา ส เตภฺย เอกำ ทฺฤษฺฏานฺตกถำ กถยามาสฯ เอก: กฺฤษีพโล พีชานิ วปฺตุํ พหิรฺชคาม,
And, seeing that a great multitude were coming together, and they who from every city were journeying forth unto him, he spake through means of a parable: —
5 ตโต วปนกาเล กติปยานิ พีชานิ มารฺคปารฺเศฺว เปตุ: , ตตสฺตานิ ปทตไล รฺทลิตานิ ปกฺษิภิ รฺภกฺษิตานิ จฯ
The sower went forth to sow his seed, —and, as he sowed, some, indeed, fell beside the pathway, and was trodden down; and, the birds of heaven, devoured it.
6 กติปยานิ พีชานิ ปาษาณสฺถเล ปติตานิ ยทฺยปิ ตานฺยงฺกุริตานิ ตถาปิ รสาภาวาตฺ ศุศุษุ: ฯ
And, other, fell down upon the rock; and, growing, was withered, because it had not moisture.
7 กติปยานิ พีชานิ กณฺฏกิวนมเธฺย ปติตานิ ตต: กณฺฏกิวนานิ สํวฺฤทฺธฺย ตานิ ชคฺรสุ: ฯ
And, other, fell and thorns; and, growing together, the thorns, choked it.
8 ตทนฺยานิ กติปยพีชานิ จ ภูมฺยามุตฺตมายำ เปตุสฺตตสฺตานฺยงฺกุรยิตฺวา ศตคุณานิ ผลานิ เผลุ: ฯ ส อิมา กถำ กถยิตฺวา โปฺรจฺไจ: โปฺรวาจ, ยสฺย โศฺรตุํ โศฺรเตฺร สฺต: ส ศฺฤโณตุฯ
And, other, fell into good ground; and, growing, brought forth fruit, a hundredfold. These things, saying, he went on to cry aloud—He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9 ตต: ปรํ ศิษฺยาสฺตํ ปปฺรจฺฉุรสฺย ทฺฤษฺฏานฺตสฺย กึ ตาตฺปรฺยฺยํ?
But his disciples began to question him—What might, this very, parable be?
10 ตต: ส วฺยาชหาร, อีศฺวรียราชฺยสฺย คุหฺยานิ ชฺญาตุํ ยุษฺมภฺยมธิกาโร ทียเต กินฺตฺวเนฺย ยถา ทฺฤษฺฏฺวาปิ น ปศฺยนฺติ ศฺรุตฺวาปิ ม พุธฺยนฺเต จ ตทรฺถํ เตษำ ปุรสฺตาตฺ ตา: สรฺวฺวา: กถา ทฺฤษฺฏานฺเตน กถฺยนฺเตฯ
And, he, said—Unto you, hath it been given, to get to know the sacred secrets of the kingdom of God; but, unto the rest, in parables, —in order that, seeing, they may not see, and, hearing, they may not understand.
11 ทฺฤษฺฏานฺตสฺยาสฺยาภิปฺราย: , อีศฺวรียกถา พีชสฺวรูปาฯ
Now the parable, is this—The seed, is, the word of God.
12 เย กถามาตฺรํ ศฺฤณฺวนฺติ กินฺตุ ปศฺจาทฺ วิศฺวสฺย ยถา ปริตฺราณํ น ปฺราปฺนุวนฺติ ตทาศเยน ไศตาเนตฺย หฺฤทยาตฺฤ ตำ กถามฺ อปหรติ ต เอว มารฺคปารฺศฺวสฺถภูมิสฺวรูปา: ฯ
And, those beside the pathway, are they who have heard; afterwards, cometh the adversary, and catcheth away the word from their heart, lest, believing, they should, be saved.
13 เย กถํ ศฺรุตฺวา สานนฺทํ คฺฤหฺลนฺติ กินฺตฺวพทฺธมูลตฺวาตฺ สฺวลฺปกาลมาตฺรํ ปฺรตีตฺย ปรีกฺษากาเล ภฺรศฺยนฺติ เตอว ปาษาณภูมิสฺวรูปา: ฯ
And, those upon the rock, are they who, as soon as they hear, with joy, welcome the word; and, these, not having, root, are they who, for a season, believe, —and, in a season of testing, draw back.
14 เย กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา ยานฺติ วิษยจินฺตายำ ธนโลเภน เอหิกสุเข จ มชฺชนฺต อุปยุกฺตผลานิ น ผลนฺติ ต เอโวปฺตพีชกณฺฏกิภูสฺวรูปา: ฯ
And, that which in among the thorns fell, these, are they who have heard; and, by anxieties and wealth and pleasures of life being borne along, are choked up, and bear not to perfection.
15 กินฺตุ เย ศฺรุตฺวา สรไล: ศุทฺไธศฺจานฺต: กรไณ: กถำ คฺฤหฺลนฺติ ไธรฺยฺยมฺ อวลมฺพฺย ผลานฺยุตฺปาทยนฺติ จ ต เอโวตฺตมมฺฤตฺสฺวรูปา: ฯ
But, that in the good ground, these, are they who, indeed, in a noble and good heart having heard the word, hold fast, and bear fruit with endurance.
16 อปรญฺจ ปฺรทีปํ ปฺรชฺวาลฺย โกปิ ปาเตฺรณ นาจฺฉาทยติ ตถา ขฏฺวาโธปิ น สฺถาปยติ, กินฺตุ ทีปาธาโรปรฺเยฺยว สฺถาปยติ, ตสฺมาตฺ ปฺรเวศกา ทีปฺตึ ปศฺยนฺติฯ
And, no one having lit a lamp, covereth it up with a vessel, or, beneath a couch, putteth it; but, upon a lamp-stand, putteth it, that, they who come in, may see the light.
17 ยนฺน ปฺรกาศยิษฺยเต ตาทฺฤคฺ อปฺรกาศิตํ วสฺตุ กิมปิ นาสฺติ ยจฺจ น สุวฺยกฺตํ ปฺรจารยิษฺยเต ตาทฺฤคฺ คฺฤปฺตํ วสฺตุ กิมปิ นาสฺติฯ
For there is no secret, which shall not be made, manifest; neither a hidden thing, which shall in anywise not be made known, or not come, where it can be seen.
18 อโต ยูยํ เกน ปฺรกาเรณ ศฺฤณุถ ตตฺร สาวธานา ภวต, ยสฺย สมีเป พรฺทฺธเต ตไสฺม ปุนรฺทาสฺยเต กินฺตุ ยสฺยาศฺรเย น พรฺทฺธเต ตสฺย ยทฺยทสฺติ ตทปิ ตสฺมาตฺ เนษฺยเตฯ
Be taking heed therefore how ye hear; for, whosoever shall have, it shall be given unto him; and, whosoever shall not have, even what he seemeth to have, shall be taken from him.
19 อปรญฺจ ยีโศ รฺมาตา ภฺราตรศฺจ ตสฺย สมีปํ ชิคมิษว:
And his mother and brethren came near unto him, and were unable to reach him, because of the multitude.
20 กินฺตุ ชนตาสมฺพาธาตฺ ตตฺสนฺนิธึ ปฺราปฺตุํ น เศกุ: ฯ ตตฺปศฺจาตฺ ตว มาตา ภฺราตรศฺจ ตฺวำ สากฺษาตฺ จิกีรฺษนฺโต พหิสฺติษฺฐนตีติ วารฺตฺตายำ ตไสฺม กถิตายำ
And it was reported to him—Thy mother and thy brethren, are standing outside, desiring, to see, thee.
21 ส ปฺรตฺยุวาจ; เย ชนา อีศฺวรสฺย กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา ตทนุรูปมาจรนฺติ เตอว มม มาตา ภฺราตรศฺจฯ
But, he, answering, said unto them—My mother and my brethren, are, these—they who, the word of God, are hearing and doing.
22 อนนฺตรํ เอกทา ยีศุ: ศิไษฺย: สารฺทฺธํ นาวมารุหฺย ชคาท, อายาต วยํ หฺรทสฺย ปารํ ยาม: , ตตเสฺต ชคฺมุ: ฯ
And it came to pass, on one of the days, that, he, entered into a boat, and his disciples; and he said unto them—Let us pass over unto the other side of the lake. And they set sail.
23 เตษุ เนากำ วาหยตฺสุ ส นิทเทฺรา;
Now, as they were sailing, he fell asleep. And there came down a hurricane of wind upon the lake, and they began to be filled, and to be in peril.
24 อถากสฺมาตฺ ปฺรพลฌญฺภฺศคมาทฺ หฺรเท เนากายำ ตรงฺไคราจฺฉนฺนายำ วิปตฺ ตานฺ ชคฺราสฯ ตสฺมาทฺ ยีโศรนฺติกํ คตฺวา เห คุโร เห คุโร ปฺราณา โน ยานฺตีติ คทิตฺวา ตํ ชาครยามฺพภูวุ: ฯ ตทา ส อุตฺถาย วายุํ ตรงฺคำศฺจ ตรฺชยามาส ตสฺมาทุเภา นิวฺฤตฺย สฺถิเรา พภูวตุ: ฯ
And, coming near, they roused him up, saying—Master! Master! we perish! And, he, roused up, rebuked the wind, and the surging of the water; and they ceased, and it became a calm.
25 ส ตานฺ พภาเษ ยุษฺมากํ วิศฺวาส: ก? ตสฺมาตฺเต ภีตา วิสฺมิตาศฺจ ปรสฺปรํ ชคทุ: , อโห กีทฺฤคยํ มนุช: ปวนํ ปานียญฺจาทิศติ ตทุภยํ ตทาเทศํ วหติฯ
And he said unto them—Where was your faith? But, struck with fear, they marvelled, saying one to another—Who then is, this, —that, even unto the winds, he giveth orders, and unto the water, and they hearken unto him.
26 ตต: ปรํ คาลีลฺปฺรเทศสฺย สมฺมุขสฺถคิเทรียปฺรเทเศ เนากายำ ลคนฺตฺยำ ตเฏ'วโรหมาวาทฺ
And they sailed down into the country of the Gerasenes, the which is over against Galilee.
27 พหุติถกาลํ ภูตคฺรสฺต เอโก มานุษ: ปุราทาคตฺย ตํ สากฺษาจฺจการฯ ส มนุโษ วาโส น ปริทธตฺ คฺฤเห จ น วสนฺ เกวลํ ศฺมศานมฺ อธฺยุวาสฯ
And, when he went forth upon the land, there met him a certain man, out of the city, having demons; and, for a considerable time, he had put on no garment, and, in a house, would not abide, but among the tombs.
28 ส ยีศุํ ทฺฤษฺไฏฺวว จีจฺฉพฺทํ จการ ตสฺย สมฺมุเข ปติตฺวา โปฺรจฺไจรฺชคาท จ, เห สรฺวฺวปฺรธาเนศฺวรสฺย ปุตฺร, มยา สห ตว ก: สมฺพนฺธ: ? ตฺวยิ วินยํ กโรมิ มำ มา ยาตยฯ
But, seeing Jesus, he cried out aloud, and fell down before him, and, with a loud voice, said—What have I in common with thee, O Jesus, Son of [God] the Most High? I beg of thee—Do not torment me!—
29 ยต: ส ตํ มานุษํ ตฺยกฺตฺวา ยาตุมฺ อเมธฺยภูตมฺ อาทิเทศ; ส ภูตสฺตํ มานุษมฺ อสกฺฤทฺ ทธาร ตสฺมาโลฺลกา: ศฺฤงฺขเลน นิคเฑน จ พพนฺธุ: ; ส ตทฺ ภํกฺตฺวา ภูตวศตฺวาตฺ มเธฺยปฺรานฺตรํ ยเยาฯ
for he was about to charge the impure spirit to come out from the man. For, many times, had it snatched him away; and he used to be bound with chains and fetters, for a safe-guard, and was wont to break in pieces the bonds, and to be driven by the demon into the deserts.
30 อนนฺตรํ ยีศุสฺตํ ปปฺรจฺฉ ตว กินฺนาม? ส อุวาจ, มม นาม พาหิโน ยโต พหโว ภูตาสฺตมาศิศฺริยุ: ฯ
And Jesus questioned him—What name hast thou? And, he, said—Legion! because many demons had entered into him.
And they were beseeching him that he would not order them, into the abyss, to depart. (Abyssos g12)
32 ตทา ปรฺวฺวโตปริ วราหวฺรชศฺจรติ ตสฺมาทฺ ภูตา วินเยน โปฺรจุ: , อมุํ วราหวฺรชมฺ อาศฺรยิตุมฺ อสฺมานฺ อนุชานีหิ; ตต: โสนุชชฺเญาฯ
Now there was there, a herd of a good many swine, feeding in the mountain; and they besought him, that he would suffer them, into those, to enter; and he suffered them.
33 ตต: ปรํ ภูตาสฺตํ มานุษํ วิหาย วราหวฺรชมฺ อาศิศฺริยุ: วราหวฺรชาศฺจ ตตฺกฺษณาตฺ กฏเกน ธาวนฺโต หฺรเท ปฺราณานฺ วิชฺฤหุ: ฯ
And the demons, going forth from the man entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down the cliff, into the lake, and were choked.
34 ตทฺ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ศูกรรกฺษกา: ปลายมานา นครํ คฺรามญฺจ คตฺวา ตตฺสรฺวฺววฺฤตฺตานฺตํ กถยามาสุ: ฯ
And they who had been feeding them, seeing what had happened, fled, and carried tidings into the city, and into the country-places.
35 ตต: กึ วฺฤตฺตมฺ เอตทฺทรฺศนารฺถํ โลกา นิรฺคตฺย ยีโศ: สมีปํ ยยุ: , ตํ มานุษํ ตฺยกฺตภูตํ ปริหิตวสฺตฺรํ สฺวสฺถมานุษวทฺ ยีโศศฺจรณสนฺนิเธา สูปวิศนฺตํ วิโลกฺย พิภฺยุ: ฯ
And they went forth to see what had happened; and came unto Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone forth, sitting, clothed, and of sound mind, near the feet of Jesus, —and they were struck with fear.
36 เย โลกาสฺตสฺย ภูตคฺรสฺตสฺย สฺวาสฺถฺยกรณํ ททฺฤศุเสฺต เตภฺย: สรฺวฺววฺฤตฺตานฺตํ กถยามาสุ: ฯ
And they who had seen it, reported unto them, how the demonized man was saved.
37 ตทนนฺตรํ ตสฺย คิเทรียปฺรเทศสฺย จตุรฺทิกฺสฺถา พหโว ชนา อติตฺรสฺตา วินเยน ตํ ชคทุ: , ภวานฺ อสฺมากํ นิกฏาทฺ วฺรชตุ ตสฺมาตฺ ส นาวมารุหฺย ตโต วฺยาฆุฏฺย ชคามฯ
And one and all of the throng of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes, requested him, to depart from them; because, with a great fear, were they oppressed. And, he, entering into a boat, returned.
38 ตทานีํ ตฺยกฺตภูตมนุชเสฺตน สห สฺถาตุํ ปฺรารฺถยาญฺจเกฺร
And the man from whom the demons had gone forth, began to beg of him, that he might be with him; but he dismissed him, saying—
39 กินฺตุ ตทรฺถมฺ อีศฺวร: กีทฺฤงฺมหากรฺมฺม กฺฤตวานฺ อิติ นิเวศนํ คตฺวา วิชฺญาปย, ยีศุ: กถาเมตำ กถยิตฺวา ตํ วิสสรฺชฯ ตต: ส วฺรชิตฺวา ยีศุสฺตทรฺถํ ยนฺมหากรฺมฺม จการ ตตฺ ปุรสฺย สรฺวฺวตฺร ปฺรกาศยิตุํ ปฺราเรเภฯ
Be returning unto thy house, and telling forth what great things, God, for thee, hath done. And he departed, through all the city, proclaiming what great things, Jesus, had done for him.
40 อถ ยีเศา ปราวฺฤตฺยาคเต โลกาสฺตํ อาทเรณ ชคฺฤหุ รฺยสฺมาตฺเต สรฺเวฺว ตมเปกฺษาญฺจกฺริเรฯ
Now, when Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him back, for they were all expecting him.
41 ตทนนฺตรํ ยายีรฺนามฺโน ภชนเคหไสฺยโกธิป อาคตฺย ยีโศศฺจรณโย: ปติตฺวา สฺวนิเวศนาคมนารฺถํ ตสฺมินฺ วินยํ จการ,
And lo! there came a man, whose name was Jairus, and, the same, was, a ruler of the synagogue, —and, falling down near the feet of Jesus, he began beseeching him to enter into his house;
42 ยตสฺตสฺย ทฺวาทศวรฺษวยสฺกา กไนฺยกาสีตฺ สา มฺฤตกลฺปาภวตฺฯ ตตสฺตสฺย คมนกาเล มารฺเค โลกานำ มหานฺ สมาคโม พภูวฯ
because he had, an only-begotten daughter, about twelve years old, and, she, was dying. Now, as he withdrew, the multitudes, were hemming him in.
43 ทฺวาทศวรฺษาณิ ปฺรทรโรคคฺรสฺตา นานา ไวไทฺยศฺจิกิตฺสิตา สรฺวฺวสฺวํ วฺยยิตฺวาปิ สฺวาสฺถฺยํ น ปฺราปฺตา ยา โยษิตฺ สา ยีโศ: ปศฺจาทาคตฺย ตสฺย วสฺตฺรคฺรนฺถึ ปสฺปรฺศฯ
And, a woman, with a flow of blood of twelve years standing, who indeed could, from no one, be cured,
44 ตสฺมาตฺ ตตฺกฺษณาตฺ ตสฺยา รกฺตสฺราโว รุทฺธ: ฯ
coming near behind, touched the fringe of his mantle; and, instantly, was stayed the flow of her blood.
45 ตทานีํ ยีศุรวทตฺ เกนาหํ สฺปฺฤษฺฏ: ? ตโต'เนไกรนงฺคีกฺฤเต ปิตรสฺตสฺย สงฺคินศฺจาวทนฺ, เห คุโร โลกา นิกฏสฺถา: สนฺตสฺตว เทเห ฆรฺษยนฺติ, ตถาปิ เกนาหํ สฺปฺฤษฺฏอิติ ภวานฺ กุต: ปฺฤจฺฉติ?
And Jesus said—Who, is it that touched me? And, when all were denying, Peter said—Master! the multitudes, are hemming thee in, and pressing along.
46 ยีศุ: กถยามาส, เกนาปฺยหํ สฺปฺฤษฺโฏ, ยโต มตฺต: ศกฺติ รฺนิรฺคเตติ มยา นิศฺจิตมชฺญายิฯ
But, Jesus, said—Some one touched me, for, I, took note of power, gone out from me.
47 ตทา สา นารี สฺวยํ น คุปฺเตติ วิทิตฺวา กมฺปมานา สตี ตสฺย สมฺมุเข ปปาต; เยน นิมิตฺเตน ตํ ปสฺปรฺศ สฺปรฺศมาตฺราจฺจ เยน ปฺรกาเรณ สฺวสฺถาภวตฺ ตตฺ สรฺวฺวํ ตสฺย สากฺษาทาจเขฺยาฯ
And, the woman seeing that she had not escaped notice, trembling, came, and, falling down before him, reported before all the people, for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed instantly!
48 ตต: ส ตำ ชคาท เห กเนฺย สุสฺถิรา ภว, ตว วิศฺวาสสฺตฺวำ สฺวสฺถามฺ อการฺษีตฺ ตฺวํ เกฺษเมณ ยาหิฯ
And, he, said to her—Daughter! thy faith, hath saved thee: Go thy way into peace.
49 ยีโศเรตทฺวากฺยวทนกาเล ตสฺยาธิปเต รฺนิเวศนาตฺ กศฺจิโลฺลก อาคตฺย ตํ พภาเษ, ตว กนฺยา มฺฤตา คุรุํ มา กฺลิศานฯ
While yet he is speaking, there cometh one from the synagogue ruler’s, saying—Thy daughter, is dead: No further, be troubling the teacher.
50 กินฺตุ ยีศุสฺตทากรฺณฺยาธิปตึ วฺยาชหาร, มา ไภษี: เกวลํ วิศฺวสิหิ ตสฺมาตฺ สา ชีวิษฺยติฯ
But, Jesus, hearing, answered him—Do not fear! Only believe, and she shall be saved.
51 อถ ตสฺย นิเวศเน ปฺราปฺเต ส ปิตรํ โยหนํ ยากูพญฺจ กนฺยายา มาตรํ ปิตรญฺจ วินา, อนฺยํ กญฺจน ปฺรเวษฺฏุํ วารยามาสฯ
And, when he came into the house, he suffered no one to enter with him, save Peter and John and James, and the father of the girl, and the mother.
52 อปรญฺจ เย รุทนฺติ วิลปนฺติ จ ตานฺ สรฺวฺวานฺ ชนานฺ อุวาจ, ยูยํ มา โรทิษฺฏ กนฺยา น มฺฤตา นิทฺราติฯ
And they were all weeping, and beating themselves, for her. And he said—Be not weeping; for she died not, but is sleeping.
53 กินฺตุ สา นิศฺจิตํ มฺฤเตติ ชฺญาตฺวา เต ตมุปชหสุ: ฯ
And they were deriding him, knowing that she died.
54 ปศฺจาตฺ ส สรฺวฺวานฺ พหิ: กฺฤตฺวา กนฺยายา: กเรา ธฺฤตฺวาชุหุเว, เห กเนฺย ตฺวมุตฺติษฺฐ,
But, he, grasping her hand, called aloud, saying—O girl! arise!
55 ตสฺมาตฺ ตสฺยา: ปฺราเณษุ ปุนราคเตษุ สา ตตฺกฺษณาทฺ อุตฺตเสฺยาฯ ตทานีํ ตไสฺย กิญฺจิทฺ ภกฺษฺยํ ทาตุมฺ อาทิเทศฯ
And her spirit returned, and she rose up instantly, and he ordered that something should be given her to eat.
56 ตตสฺตสฺยา: ปิตเรา วิสฺมยํ คเตา กินฺตุ ส ตาวาทิเทศ ฆฏนายา เอตสฺยา: กถำ กไสฺมจิทปิ มา กถยตํฯ
And her parents were beside themselves. But, he, charged them to tell, no one, what had happened.
