1 นิกทิมนามา ยิหูทียานามฺ อธิปติ: ผิรูศี กฺษณทายำ
And there was a man of the Pharisees there, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2 ยีเศารภฺยรฺณมฺ อาวฺรชฺย วฺยาหารฺษีตฺ, เห คุโร ภวานฺ อีศฺวราทฺ อาคตฺ เอก อุปเทษฺฏา, เอตทฺ อสฺมาภิรฺชฺญายเต; ยโต ภวตา ยานฺยาศฺจรฺยฺยกรฺมฺมาณิ กฺริยนฺเต ปรเมศฺวรสฺย สาหายฺยํ วินา เกนาปิ ตตฺตตฺกรฺมฺมาณิ กรฺตฺตุํ น ศกฺยนฺเตฯ
And he came to Jesus by night, and said to him: Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher sent from God; for no one can work those signs which thou workest, unless God be with him.
3 ตทา ยีศุรุตฺตรํ ทตฺตวานฺ ตวาหํ ยถารฺถตรํ วฺยาหรามิ ปุนรฺชนฺมนิ น สติ โกปิ มานว อีศฺวรสฺย ราชฺยํ ทฺรษฺฏุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
Jesus replied, and said to him: Verily, verily, I say to thee, That, unless a man be born anew, he cannot behold the kingdom of God.
4 ตโต นิกทีม: ปฺรตฺยโวจตฺ มนุโช วฺฤทฺโธ ภูตฺวา กถํ ชนิษฺยเต? ส กึ ปุน รฺมาตฺฤรฺชฐรํ ปฺรวิศฺย ชนิตุํ ศกฺโนติ?
Nicodemus said to him: How can an old man be born? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?
5 ยีศุรวาทีทฺ ยถารฺถตรมฺ อหํ กถยามิ มนุเช โตยาตฺมภฺยำ ปุน รฺน ชาเต ส อีศฺวรสฺย ราชฺยํ ปฺรเวษฺฏุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
Jesus replied, and said to him Verily, verily, I say to thee, That, unless a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 มำสาทฺ ยตฺ ชายเต ตนฺ มำสเมว ตถาตฺมโน โย ชายเต ส อาตฺไมวฯ
That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
7 ยุษฺมาภิ: ปุน รฺชนิตวฺยํ มไมตสฺยำ กถายามฺ อาศฺจรฺยํ มา มํสฺถา: ฯ
Be not surprised that I said to thee, Ye must be born anew.
8 สทาคติรฺยำ ทิศมิจฺฉติ ตสฺยาเมว ทิศิ วาติ, ตฺวํ ตสฺย สฺวนํ ศุโณษิ กินฺตุ ส กุต อายาติ กุตฺร ยาติ วา กิมปิ น ชานาสิ ตทฺวาทฺ อาตฺมน: สกาศาตฺ สรฺเวฺวษำ มนุชานำ ชนฺม ภวติฯ
The wind bloweth where it chooseth; and thou hearest its sound, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one, that is born of the Spirit.
9 ตทา นิกทีม: ปฺฤษฺฏวานฺ เอตตฺ กถํ ภวิตุํ ศกฺโนติ?
Nicodemus answered, and said to him: How can these things be?
10 ยีศุ: ปฺรตฺยกฺตวานฺ ตฺวมิสฺราเยโล คุรุรฺภูตฺวาปิ กิเมตำ กถำ น เวตฺสิ?
Jesus answered, and said to him: Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 ตุภฺยํ ยถารฺถํ กถยามิ, วยํ ยทฺ วิทฺมสฺตทฺ วจฺม: ยํจฺจ ปศฺยามสฺตไสฺยว สากฺษฺยํ ททฺม: กินฺตุ ยุษฺมาภิรสฺมากํ สากฺษิตฺวํ น คฺฤหฺยเตฯ
Verily, verily, I say to thee: We speak, what we know; and we testify to what we have seen; but ye receive not our testimony.
12 เอตสฺย สํสารสฺย กถายำ กถิตายำ ยทิ ยูยํ น วิศฺวสิถ ตรฺหิ สฺวรฺคียายำ กถายำ กถํ วิศฺวสิษฺยถ?
If I have spoken to you of things on earth, and ye believe not; how will ye believe, if I speak of things in heaven?
13 ย: สฺวรฺเค'สฺติ ยํ จ สฺวรฺคาทฺ อวาโรหตฺ ตํ มานวตนยํ วินา โกปิ สฺวรฺคํ นาโรหตฺฯ
And no one hath ascended to heaven, but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven.
14 อปรญฺจ มูสา ยถา ปฺรานฺตเร สรฺปํ โปฺรตฺถาปิตวานฺ มนุษฺยปุโตฺร'ปิ ตไถโวตฺถาปิตวฺย: ;
And as Moses elevated the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up:
that every one who believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
16 อีศฺวร อิตฺถํ ชคททยต ยตฺ สฺวมทฺวิตียํ ตนยํ ปฺราททาตฺ ตโต ย: กศฺจิตฺ ตสฺมินฺ วิศฺวสิษฺยติ โส'วินาศฺย: สนฺ อนนฺตายุ: ปฺราปฺสฺยติฯ (aiōnios g166)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish, but should have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
17 อีศฺวโร ชคโต โลกานฺ ทณฺฑยิตุํ สฺวปุตฺรํ น เปฺรษฺย ตานฺ ปริตฺราตุํ เปฺรษิตวานฺฯ
For God sent not his Son into the world, to condemn the world; but that the world might live by means of him.
18 อเตอว ย: กศฺจิตฺ ตสฺมินฺ วิศฺวสิติ ส ทณฺฑาโรฺห น ภวติ กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ ตสฺมินฺ น วิศฺวสิติ ส อิทานีเมว ทณฺฑาโรฺห ภวติ, ยต: ส อีศฺวรสฺยาทฺวิตียปุตฺรสฺย นามนิ ปฺรตฺยยํ น กโรติฯ
He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not, is already condemned; because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 ชคโต มเธฺย โชฺยติ: ปฺรากาศต กินฺตุ มนุษฺยาณำ กรฺมฺมณำ ทฺฤษฺฏตฺวาตฺ เต โชฺยติโษปิ ติมิเร ปฺรียนฺเต เอตเทว ทณฺฑสฺย การณำ ภวติฯ
And this is the ground of condemnation, that light hath come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, for their deeds have been evil.
20 ย: กุกรฺมฺม กโรติ ตสฺยาจารสฺย ทฺฤษฺฏตฺวาตฺ ส โชฺยติรฺฤาตียิตฺวา ตนฺนิกฏํ นายาติ;
For every one that doeth abominable things, hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 กินฺตุ ย: สตฺกรฺมฺม กโรติ ตสฺย สรฺวฺวาณิ กรฺมฺมาณีศฺวเรณ กฺฤตานีติ สถา ปฺรกาศเต ตทภิปฺราเยณ ส โชฺยติษ: สนฺนิธิมฺ อายาติฯ
But he that doeth right, cometh to the light, that his works may be known to be done in God.
22 ตต: ปรมฺ ยีศุ: ศิไษฺย: สารฺทฺธํ ยิหูทียเทศํ คตฺวา ตตฺร สฺถิตฺวา มชฺชยิตุมฺ อารภตฯ
After these things, came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he abode with them, and baptized.
23 ตทา ศาลมฺ นครสฺย สมีปสฺถายินิ ไอนนฺ คฺราเม พหุตรโตยสฺถิเตสฺตตฺร โยหนฺ อมชฺชยตฺ ตถา จ โลกา อาคตฺย เตน มชฺชิตา อภวนฺฯ
And John also was baptizing in 'non, which is near to Salim, because there were many waters there: and the people came, and were baptized.
24 ตทา โยหนฺ การายำ น พทฺธ: ฯ
For John had not yet fallen into prison.
25 อปรญฺจ ศาจกรฺมฺมณิ โยหาน: ศิไษฺย: สห ยิหูทียโลกานำ วิวาเท ชาเต, เต โยหน: สํนฺนิธึ คตฺวากถยนฺ,
And one of John's disciples and a certain Jew had disputed respecting purification.
26 เห คุโร ยรฺทฺทนนทฺยา: ปาเร ภวตา สารฺทฺธํ ย อาสีตฺ ยสฺมึศฺจ ภวานฺ สากฺษฺยํ ปฺรททาตฺ ปศฺยตุ โสปิ มชฺชยติ สรฺเวฺว ตสฺย สมีปํ ยานฺติ จฯ
And they came to John, and said to him: Our Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond Jordan, and of whom thou gavest testimony, lo, he also baptizeth; and many go after him.
27 ตทา โยหนฺ ปฺรตฺยโวจทฺ อีศฺวเรณ น ทตฺเต โกปิ มนุช: กิมปิ ปฺราปฺตุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
John answered, and said to them: A man cannot take any thing by his own choice, unless it be given him from heaven.
28 อหํ อภิษิกฺโต น ภวามิ กินฺตุ ตทเคฺร เปฺรษิโตสฺมิ ยามิมำ กถำ กถิตวานาหํ ตตฺร ยูยํ สรฺเวฺว สากฺษิณ: สฺถฯ
Ye are witnesses for me, that I said: I am not the Messiah, but am sent to go before him.
29 โย ชน: กนฺยำ ลภเต ส เอว วร: กินฺตุ วรสฺย สนฺนิเธา ทณฺฑายมานํ ตสฺย ยนฺมิตฺรํ เตน วรสฺย ศพฺเท ศฺรุเต'ตีวาหฺลาทฺยเต มมาปิ ตทฺวทฺ อานนฺทสิทฺธิรฺชาตาฯ
He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: and the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and listeneth to him, rejoiceth with great joy on account of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, lo, it is full.
30 เตน กฺรมโศ วรฺทฺธิตวฺยํ กินฺตุ มยา หฺสิตวฺยํฯ
To him must be increase, and to me decrease.
31 ย อูรฺธฺวาทาคจฺฉตฺ ส สรฺเวฺวษำ มุโขฺย ยศฺจ สํสาราทฺ อุทปทฺยต ส สำสาริก: สํสารียำ กถาญฺจ กถยติ ยสฺตุ สฺวรฺคาทาคจฺฉตฺ ส สรฺเวฺวษำ มุขฺย: ฯ
For he that cometh from above, is above all; and he that is from the earth, is of the earth, and talketh of the earth. He that cometh from heaven, is above all;
32 ส ยทปศฺยทศฺฤโณจฺจ ตสฺมินฺเนว สากฺษฺยํ ททาติ ตถาปิ ปฺรายศ: กศฺจิตฺ ตสฺย สากฺษฺยํ น คฺฤหฺลาติ;
and what he hath seen and heard, he testifieth; and his testimony, no one receiveth.
33 กินฺตุ โย คฺฤหฺลาติ ส อีศฺวรสฺย สตฺยวาทิตฺวํ มุทฺรางฺคิตํ กโรติฯ
But he that receiveth his testimony, hath set his seal, that God is true.
34 อีศฺวเรณ ย: เปฺรริต: เสอว อีศฺวรียกถำ กถยติ ยต อีศฺวร อาตฺมานํ ตไสฺม อปริมิตมฺ อททาตฺฯ
For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God; for God hath not given the Spirit by measure to him.
35 ปิตา ปุเตฺร เสฺนหํ กฺฤตฺวา ตสฺย หเสฺต สรฺวฺวาณิ สมรฺปิตวานฺฯ
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given every thing into his hands.
36 ย: กศฺจิตฺ ปุเตฺร วิศฺวสิติ ส เอวานนฺตมฺ ปรมายุ: ปฺราปฺโนติ กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ ปุเตฺร น วิศฺวสิติ ส ปรมายุโษ ทรฺศนํ น ปฺราปฺโนติ กินฺตฺวีศฺวรสฺย โกปภาชนํ ภูตฺวา ติษฺฐติฯ (aiōnios g166)
He that believeth on the Son, hath life eternal; but he who obeyeth not the Son, shall not see life. but the wrath of God will abide upon him. (aiōnios g166)
