๒ กรินฺถิน: 8
1 เห ภฺราตร: , มากิทนิยาเทศสฺถาสุ สมิติษุ ปฺรกาศิโต ย อีศฺวรสฺยานุคฺรหสฺตมหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ชฺญาปยามิฯ
Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God which hath been bestowed in the churches of Macedonia;
2 วสฺตุโต พหุเกฺลศปรีกฺษาสมเย เตษำ มหานนฺโท'ตีวทีนตา จ วทานฺยตายา: ปฺรจุรผลมฺ อผลยตำฯ
that under a great trial of distress the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty increased the riches of their liberality;
3 เต เสฺวจฺฉยา ยถาศกฺติ กิญฺจาติศกฺติ ทาน อุทฺยุกฺตา อภวนฺ อิติ มยา ปฺรมาณีกฺริยเตฯ
for according to their power, I bear witness, and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
4 วยญฺจ ยตฺ ปวิตฺรโลเกภฺยเสฺตษำ ทานมฺ อุปการารฺถกมฺ อํศนญฺจ คฺฤหฺลามสฺตทฺ พหุนุนเยนาสฺมานฺ ปฺรารฺถิตวนฺต: ฯ
begging of us with much entreaty the favor of sharing in the ministration to the saints;
5 วยํ ยาทฺฤกฺ ปฺรไตฺย×กฺษามหิ ตาทฺฤคฺ อกฺฤตฺวา เต'เคฺร ปฺรภเว ตต: ปรมฺ อีศฺวรเสฺยจฺฉยาสฺมภฺยมปิ สฺวานฺ นฺยเวทยนฺฯ
and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God;
6 อโต เหโตสฺตฺวํ ยถารพฺธวานฺ ตไถว กรินฺถินำ มเธฺย'ปิ ตทฺ ทานคฺรหณํ สาธเยติ ยุษฺมานฺ อธิ วยํ ตีตํ ปฺรารฺถยามหิฯ
so that we urged Titus, that, as he had already made a beginning, so he would also finish among you this bounty also.
7 อโต วิศฺวาโส วากฺปฏุตา ชฺญานํ สรฺโวฺวตฺสาโห 'สฺมาสุ เปฺรม ไจไต รฺคุไณ รฺยูยํ ยถาปรานฺ อติเศเธฺว ตไถไวเตน คุเณนาปฺยติเศธฺวํฯ
But as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this exercise of liberality also.
8 เอตทฺ อหมฺ อาชฺญยา กถยามีติ นหิ กินฺตฺวเนฺยษามฺ อุตฺสาหการณาทฺ ยุษฺมากมปิ เปฺรมฺน: สารลฺยํ ปรีกฺษิตุมิจฺฉตา มไยตตฺ กถฺยเตฯ
I speak not by way of command, but by reason of the earnestness of others, and to prove the genuineness of your love.
9 ยูยญฺจาสฺมตฺปฺรโภ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺยานุคฺรหํ ชานีถ ยตสฺตสฺย นิรฺธนเตฺวน ยูยํ ยทฺ ธนิโน ภวถ ตทรฺถํ ส ธนี สนฺนปิ ยุษฺมตฺกฺฤเต นิรฺธโน'ภวตฺฯ
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
10 เอตสฺมินฺ อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ สฺววิจารํ ชฺญาปยามิฯ คตํ สํวตฺสรมฺ อารภฺย ยูยํ เกวลํ กรฺมฺม กรฺตฺตํ ตนฺนหิ กินฺตฺวิจฺฉุกตำ ปฺรกาศยิตุมปฺยุปากฺราภฺยธฺวํ ตโต เหโต รฺยุษฺมตฺกฺฤเต มม มนฺตฺรณา ภทฺราฯ
And I only give an opinion in this matter. For this is expedient for you, who began before others, not only to do, but also to be willing, a year ago.
11 อโต 'ธุนา ตตฺกรฺมฺมสาธนํ ยุษฺมาภิ: กฺริยตำ เตน ยทฺวทฺ อิจฺฉุกตายามฺ อุตฺสาหสฺตทฺวทฺ เอไกกสฺย สมฺปทนุสาเรณ กรฺมฺมสาธนมฺ อปิ ชนิษฺยเตฯ
Now therefore perform the doing of it, that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
12 ยสฺมินฺ อิจฺฉุกตา วิทฺยเต เตน ยนฺน ธารฺยฺยเต ตสฺมาตฺ โส'นุคฺฤหฺยต อิติ นหิ กินฺตุ ยทฺ ธารฺยฺยเต ตสฺมาเทวฯ
For if there be first the willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man hath, not according to what he hath not.
13 ยต อิตเรษำ วิราเมณ ยุษฺมากญฺจ เกฺลเศน ภวิตวฺยํ ตนฺนหิ กินฺตุ สมตไยวฯ
For it is not that others may be eased, and you burdened,
14 วรฺตฺตมานสมเย ยุษฺมากํ ธนาธิเกฺยน เตษำ ธนนฺยูนตา ปูรยิตวฺยา ตสฺมาตฺ เตษามปฺยาธิเกฺยน ยุษฺมากํ นฺยูนตา ปูรยิษฺยเต เตน สมตา ชนิษฺยเตฯ
but to make an equality; at the present season your abundance meeting their deficiency, that their abundance may at another time meet your deficiency; that there may be equality;
15 ตเทว ศาสฺเตฺร'ปิ ลิขิตมฺ อาเสฺต ยถา, เยนาธิกํ สํคฺฤหีตํ ตสฺยาธิกํ นาภวตฺ เยน จาลฺปํ สํคฺฤหีตํ ตสฺยาลฺปํ นาภวตฺฯ
as it is written: “He that gathered much, had nothing over; and he that gathered little, had no lack.”
16 ยุษฺมากํ หิตาย ตีตสฺย มนสิ ย อีศฺวร อิมมฺ อุโทฺยคํ ชนิตวานฺ ส ธโนฺย ภวตุฯ
But thanks be to God, who put the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus;
17 ตีโต'สฺมากํ ปฺรารฺถนำ คฺฤหีตวานฺ กิญฺจ สฺวยมฺ อุทฺยุกฺต: สนฺ เสฺวจฺฉยา ยุษฺมตฺสมีปํ คตวานฺฯ
for he accepted indeed the exhortation; but being very earnest, he went of his own accord to you.
18 เตน สห โย'ปร เอโก ภฺราตาสฺมาภิ: เปฺรษิต: สุสํวาทาตฺ ตสฺย สุขฺยาตฺยา สรฺวฺวา: สมิตโย วฺยาปฺตา: ฯ
And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise in the gospel is throughout all the churches;
19 ปฺรโภ เรฺคารวาย ยุษฺมากมฺ อิจฺฉุกตาไย จ ส สมิติภิเรตไสฺย ทานเสวาไย อสฺมากํ สงฺคิเตฺว นฺยโยชฺยตฯ
and not that only, but who was also appointed by the churches as our fellow-traveler in the matter of this bounty, which is administered by us to the honor of the Lord himself, and of our ready mind;
20 ยโต ยา มโหปายนเสวาสฺมาภิ รฺวิธียเต ตามธิ วยํ ยตฺ เกนาปิ น นินฺทฺยามเห ตทรฺถํ ยตามเหฯ
since we are careful of this, that no one should blame us in our management of this abundant liberality;
21 ยต: เกวลํ ปฺรโภ: สากฺษาตฺ ตนฺนหิ กินฺตุ มานวานามปิ สากฺษาตฺ สทาจารํ กรฺตฺตุมฺ อาโลจามเหฯ
for we take forethought for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
22 ตาภฺยำ สหาปร เอโก โย ภฺราตาสฺมาภิ: เปฺรษิต: โส'สฺมาภิ รฺพหุวิษเยษุ พหวารานฺ ปรีกฺษิต อุโทฺยคีว ปฺรกาศิตศฺจ กินฺตฺวธุนา ยุษฺมาสุ ทฺฤฒวิศฺวาสาตฺ ตโสฺยตฺสาโห พหุ ววฺฤเธฯ
And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have often in many things proved to be zealous, but now much more zealous through the great confidence which he hath in you.
23 ยทิ กศฺจิตฺ ตีตสฺย ตตฺตฺวํ ชิชฺญาสเต ตรฺหิ ส มม สหภาคี ยุษฺมนฺมเธฺย สหการี จ, อปรโย รฺภฺราโตฺรสฺตตฺตฺวํ วา ยทิ ชิชฺญาสเต ตรฺหิ เตา สมิตีนำ ทูเตา ขฺรีษฺฏสฺย ปฺรติพิมฺเพา เจติ เตน ชฺญายตำฯ
As to Titus, he is my partner and fellow-laborer for you; as to our brethren, they are messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.
24 อโต เหโต: สมิตีนำ สมกฺษํ ยุษฺมตฺเปฺรมฺโน'สฺมากํ ศฺลาฆายาศฺจ ปฺรามาณฺยํ ตานฺ ปฺรติ ยุษฺมาภิ: ปฺรกาศยิตวฺยํฯ
Display to them, therefore, before the churches, the proof of your love, and of what we have boasted on your behalf.
