๑ ถิษลนีกิน: 2
1 เห ภฺราตร: , ยุษฺมนฺมเธฺย 'สฺมากํ ปฺรเวโศ นิษฺผโล น ชาต อิติ ยูยํ สฺวยํ ชานีถฯ
For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you was not in vain,
2 อปรํ ยุษฺมาภิ รฺยถาศฺราวิ ตถา ปูรฺวฺวํ ผิลิปีนคเร กฺลิษฺฏา นินฺทิตาศฺจ สนฺโต'ปิ วยมฺ อีศฺวราทฺ อุตฺสาหํ ลพฺธฺวา พหุยตฺเนน ยุษฺมานฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สุสํวาทมฺ อโพธยามฯ
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.
3 ยโต'สฺมากมฺ อาเทโศ ภฺรานฺเตรศุจิภาวาทฺ โวตฺปนฺน: ปฺรวญฺจนายุกฺโต วา น ภวติฯ
For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.
4 กินฺตฺวีศฺวเรณาสฺมานฺ ปรีกฺษฺย วิศฺวสนียานฺ มตฺตฺวา จ ยทฺวตฺ สุสํวาโท'สฺมาสุ สมารฺปฺยต ตทฺวทฺ วยํ มานเวโภฺย น รุโรจิษมาณา: กินฺตฺวสฺมทนฺต: กรณานำ ปรีกฺษกาเยศฺวราย รุโรจิษมาณา ภาษามเหฯ
But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak—not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.
5 วยํ กทาปิ สฺตุติวาทิโน นาภวาเมติ ยูยํ ชานีถ กทาปิ ฉลวสฺเตฺรณ โลภํ นาจฺฉาทยาเมตฺยสฺมินฺ อีศฺวร: สากฺษี วิทฺยเตฯ
For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness),
6 วยํ ขฺรีษฺฏสฺย เปฺรริตา อิว เคารวานฺวิตา ภวิตุมฺ อศกฺษฺยาม กินฺตุ ยุษฺมตฺต: ปรสฺมาทฺ วา กสฺมาทปิ มานวาทฺ เคารวํ น ลิปฺสมานา ยุษฺมนฺมเธฺย มฺฤทุภาวา ภูตฺวาวรฺตฺตามหิฯ
nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.
7 ยถา กาจินฺมาตา สฺวกียศิศูนฺ ปาลยติ ตถา วยมปิ ยุษฺมานฺ กางฺกฺษมาณา
But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
8 ยุษฺมภฺยํ เกวลมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สุสํวาทํ ตนฺนหิ กินฺตุ สฺวกียปฺราณานฺ อปิ ทาตุํ มโนภิรภฺยลษาม, ยโต ยูยมฺ อสฺมากํ เสฺนหปาตฺราณฺยภวตฯ
Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.
9 เห ภฺราตร: , อสฺมากํ ศฺรม: เกฺลศศฺจ ยุษฺมาภิ: สฺมรฺยฺยเต ยุษฺมากํ โก'ปิ ยทฺ ภารคฺรโสฺต น ภเวตฺ ตทรฺถํ วยํ ทิวานิศํ ปริศฺรามฺยนฺโต ยุษฺมนฺมธฺย อีศฺวรสฺย สุสํวาทมโฆษยามฯ
For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.
10 อปรญฺจ วิศฺวาสิโน ยุษฺมานฺ ปฺรติ วยํ กีทฺฤกฺ ปวิตฺรตฺวยถารฺถตฺวนิรฺโทษตฺวาจาริโณ'ภวาเมตฺยสฺมินฺ อีศฺวโร ยูยญฺจ สากฺษิณ อาเธฺวฯ
You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.
11 อปรญฺจ ยทฺวตฺ ปิตา สฺวพาลกานฺ ตทฺวทฺ วยํ ยุษฺมากมฺ เอไกกํ ชนมฺ อุปทิษฺฏวนฺต: สานฺตฺวิตวนฺตศฺจ,
As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,
12 ย อีศฺวร: สฺวียราชฺยาย วิภวาย จ ยุษฺมานฺ อาหูตวานฺ ตทุปยุกฺตาจรณาย ยุษฺมานฺ ปฺรวรฺตฺติตวนฺตศฺเจติ ยูยํ ชานีถฯ
to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.
13 ยสฺมินฺ สมเย ยูยมฺ อสฺมากํ มุขาทฺ อีศฺวเรณ ปฺรติศฺรุตํ วากฺยมฺ อลภธฺวํ ตสฺมินฺ สมเย ตตฺ มานุษาณำ วากฺยํ น มตฺเตฺวศฺวรสฺย วากฺยํ มตฺตฺวา คฺฤหีตวนฺต อิติ การณาทฺ วยํ นิรนฺตรมฺ อีศฺวรํ ธนฺยํ วทาม: , ยตสฺตทฺ อีศฺวรสฺย วากฺยมฺ อิติ สตฺยํ วิศฺวาสินำ ยุษฺมากํ มเธฺย ตสฺย คุณ: ปฺรกาศเต จฯ
For this cause we also thank God without ceasing that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, God’s word, which also works in you who believe.
14 เห ภฺราตร: , ขฺรีษฺฏาศฺริตวตฺย อีศฺวรสฺย ยา: สมิโตฺย ยิหูทาเทเศ สนฺติ ยูยํ ตาสามฺ อนุการิโณ'ภวต, ตทฺภุกฺตา โลกาศฺจ ยทฺวทฺ ยิหูทิโลเกภฺยสฺตทฺวทฺ ยูยมปิ สฺวชาตียโลเกโภฺย ทุ: ขมฺ อลภธฺวํฯ
For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews
15 เต ยิหูทียา: ปฺรภุํ ยีศุํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินศฺจ หตวนฺโต 'สฺมานฺ ทูรีกฺฤตวนฺตศฺจ, ต อีศฺวราย น โรจนฺเต สรฺเวฺวษำ มานวานำ วิปกฺษา ภวนฺติ จ;
who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and do not please God, and are contrary to all men,
16 อปรํ ภินฺนชาตียโลกานำ ปริตฺราณารฺถํ เตษำ มเธฺย สุสํวาทโฆษณาทฺ อสฺมานฺ ปฺรติเษธนฺติ เจตฺถํ สฺวียปาปานำ ปริมาณมฺ อุตฺตโรตฺตรํ ปูรยนฺติ, กินฺตุ เตษามฺ อนฺตการี โกฺรธสฺตานฺ อุปกฺรมเตฯ
forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
17 เห ภฺราตร: มนสา นหิ กินฺตุ วทเนน กิยตฺกาลํ ยุษฺมตฺโต 'สฺมากํ วิจฺเฉเท ชาเต วยํ ยุษฺมากํ มุขานิ ทฺรษฺฏุมฺ อตฺยากางฺกฺษยา พหุ ยติตวนฺต: ฯ
But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,
18 ทฺวิเรกกฺฤโตฺว วา ยุษฺมตฺสมีปคมนายาสฺมากํ วิเศษต: เปาลสฺย มมาภิลาโษ'ภวตฺ กินฺตุ ศยตาโน 'สฺมานฺ นิวาริตวานฺฯ
because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us.
19 ยโต'สฺมากํ กา ปฺรตฺยาศา โก วานนฺท: กึ วา ศฺลาฆฺยกิรีฏํ? อสฺมากํ ปฺรโภ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺยาคมนกาเล ตตฺสมฺมุขสฺถา ยูยํ กึ ตนฺน ภวิษฺยถ?
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is not it even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
20 ยูยมฺ เอวาสฺมากํ เคารวานนฺทสฺวรูปา ภวถฯ
For you are our glory and our joy.
