๑ กรินฺถิน: 13
1 มรฺตฺยสฺวรฺคียาณำ ภาษา ภาษมาโณ'หํ ยทิ เปฺรมหีโน ภเวยํ ตรฺหิ วาทกตาลสฺวรูโป นินาทการิเภรีสฺวรูปศฺจ ภวามิฯ
If I speak with the tongues of humans and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong, or a clanging cymbal.
2 อปรญฺจ ยทฺยหมฺ อีศฺวรียาเทศาฒฺย: สฺยำ สรฺวฺวาณิ คุปฺตวากฺยานิ สรฺวฺววิทฺยาญฺจ ชานียำ ปูรฺณวิศฺวาส: สนฺ ไศลานฺ สฺถานานฺตรีกรฺตฺตุํ ศกฺนุยาญฺจ กินฺตุ ยทิ เปฺรมหีโน ภเวยํ ตรฺหฺยคณนีย เอว ภวามิฯ
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 อปรํ ยทฺยหมฺ อนฺนทาเนน สรฺวฺวสฺวํ ตฺยเชยํ ทาหนาย สฺวศรีรํ สมรฺปเยยญฺจ กินฺตุ ยทิ เปฺรมหีโน ภเวยํ ตรฺหิ ตตฺสรฺวฺวํ มทรฺถํ นิษฺผลํ ภวติฯ
If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4 เปฺรม จิรสหิษฺณุ หิไตษิ จ, เปฺรม นิรฺเทฺวษมฺ อศฐํ นิรฺครฺวฺวญฺจฯ
Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud,
5 อปรํ ตตฺ กุตฺสิตํ นาจรติ, อาตฺมเจษฺฏำ น กุรุเต สหสา น กฺรุธฺยติ ปรานิษฺฏํ น จินฺตยติ,
does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 อธรฺมฺเม น ตุษฺยติ สตฺย เอว สนฺตุษฺยติฯ
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 ตตฺ สรฺวฺวํ ติติกฺษเต สรฺวฺวตฺร วิศฺวสิติ สรฺวฺวตฺร ภทฺรํ ปฺรตีกฺษเต สรฺวฺวํ สหเต จฯ
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 เปฺรมฺโน โลป: กทาปิ น ภวิษฺยติ, อีศฺวรียาเทศกถนํ โลปฺสฺยเต ปรภาษาภาษณํ นิวรฺตฺติษฺยเต ชฺญานมปิ โลปํ ยาสฺยติฯ
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are tongues, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
9 ยโต'สฺมากํ ชฺญานํ ขณฺฑมาตฺรมฺ อีศฺวรียาเทศกถนมปิ ขณฺฑมาตฺรํฯ
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
10 กินฺตฺวสฺมาสุ สิทฺธตำ คเตษุ ตานิ ขณฺฑมาตฺราณิ โลปํ ยาสฺยนฺเตฯ
but when that which is complete has come, that which is partial will be done away with.
11 พาลฺยกาเล'หํ พาล อิวาภาเษ พาล อิวาจินฺตยญฺจ กินฺตุ เยาวเน ชาเต ตตฺสรฺวฺวํ พาลฺยาจรณํ ปริตฺยกฺตวานฺฯ
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become an adult, I have put away childish things.
12 อิทานีมฺ อภฺรมเธฺยนาสฺปษฺฏํ ทรฺศนมฺ อสฺมาภิ รฺลภฺยเต กินฺตุ ตทา สากฺษาตฺ ทรฺศนํ ลปฺสฺยเตฯ อธุนา มม ชฺญานมฺ อลฺปิษฺฐํ กินฺตุ ตทาหํ ยถาวคมฺยสฺตไถวาวคโต ภวิษฺยามิฯ
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
13 อิทานีํ ปฺรตฺยย: ปฺรตฺยาศา เปฺรม จ ตฺรีเณฺยตานิ ติษฺฐนฺติ เตษำ มเธฺย จ เปฺรม เศฺรษฺฐํฯ
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
