మథిః 15
1 అపరం యిరూశాలమ్నగరీయాః కతిపయా అధ్యాపకాః ఫిరూశినశ్చ యీశోః సమీపమాగత్య కథయామాసుః,
THEN came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees from Jerusalem, saying,
2 తవ శిష్యాః కిమర్థమ్ అప్రక్షాలితకరై ర్భక్షిత్వా పరమ్పరాగతం ప్రాచీనానాం వ్యవహారం లఙ్వన్తే?
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread?
3 తతో యీశుః ప్రత్యువాచ, యూయం పరమ్పరాగతాచారేణ కుత ఈశ్వరాజ్ఞాం లఙ్వధ్వే|
And he answering said to them, And why do you transgress the command of God, by your tradition?
4 ఈశ్వర ఇత్యాజ్ఞాపయత్, త్వం నిజపితరౌ సంమన్యేథాః, యేన చ నిజపితరౌ నిన్ద్యేతే, స నిశ్చితం మ్రియేత;
For God commanded, saying “Honour thy father and thy mother:” and, He that curseth father or mother, let him surely die.
5 కిన్తు యూయం వదథ, యః స్వజనకం స్వజననీం వా వాక్యమిదం వదతి, యువాం మత్తో యల్లభేథే, తత్ న్యవిద్యత,
But ye say, If any man declare to his father or mother, This is a devoted gift, which else might have been employed by me for thy advantage;
6 స నిజపితరౌ పున ర్న సంమంస్యతే| ఇత్థం యూయం పరమ్పరాగతేన స్వేషామాచారేణేశ్వరీయాజ్ఞాం లుమ్పథ|
then he shall not with it honour his father and mother: so have ye vacated the command of God by your tradition.
7 రే కపటినః సర్వ్వే యిశయియో యుష్మానధి భవిష్యద్వచనాన్యేతాని సమ్యగ్ ఉక్తవాన్|
Ye hypocrites, well hath Isaiah prophesied concerning you, saying,
8 వదనై ర్మనుజా ఏతే సమాయాన్తి మదన్తికం| తథాధరై ర్మదీయఞ్చ మానం కుర్వ్వన్తి తే నరాః|
This people draweth nigh to me with their mouths, and honoureth me with the lips, but their heart is far distant from me.
9 కిన్తు తేషాం మనో మత్తో విదూరఏవ తిష్ఠతి| శిక్షయన్తో విధీన్ న్రాజ్ఞా భజన్తే మాం ముధైవ తే|
But in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines the commandments of men.
10 తతో యీశు ర్లోకాన్ ఆహూయ ప్రోక్తవాన్, యూయం శ్రుత్వా బుధ్యధ్బం|
And he called to him the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 యన్ముఖం ప్రవిశతి, తత్ మనుజమ్ అమేధ్యం న కరోతి, కిన్తు యదాస్యాత్ నిర్గచ్ఛతి, తదేవ మానుషమమేధ్యీ కరోతీ|
not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but what cometh out of the mouth, that defileth the man.
12 తదానీం శిష్యా ఆగత్య తస్మై కథయాఞ్చక్రుః, ఏతాం కథాం శ్రుత్వా ఫిరూశినో వ్యరజ్యన్త, తత్ కిం భవతా జ్ఞాయతే?
Then his disciples approaching, said to him, Knowest thou how offended the Pharisees were at hearing that speech?
13 స ప్రత్యవదత్, మమ స్వర్గస్థః పితా యం కఞ్చిదఙ్కురం నారోపయత్, స ఉత్పావ్ద్యతే|
Then he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted shall be rooted up.
14 తే తిష్ఠన్తు, తే అన్ధమనుజానామ్ అన్ధమార్గదర్శకా ఏవ; యద్యన్ధోఽన్ధం పన్థానం దర్శయతి, తర్హ్యుభౌ గర్త్తే పతతః|
Leave them to themselves: they are blind leaders of the blind. But if the blind lead the blind, they will both fall into the pit.
15 తదా పితరస్తం ప్రత్యవదత్, దృష్టాన్తమిమమస్మాన్ బోధయతు|
Then Peter answering said unto him, Explain to us this parable.
16 యీశునా ప్రోక్తం, యూయమద్య యావత్ కిమబోధాః స్థ?
And Jesus said, Are ye also to this time destitute of intelligence?
17 కథామిమాం కిం న బుధ్యధ్బే? యదాస్యం ప్రేవిశతి, తద్ ఉదరే పతన్ బహిర్నిర్యాతి,
Do ye not observe, that every thing which entereth into the mouth passeth into the belly, and is ejected into the vault?
18 కిన్త్వాస్యాద్ యన్నిర్యాతి, తద్ అన్తఃకరణాత్ నిర్యాతత్వాత్ మనుజమమేధ్యం కరోతి|
But the things which go forth out of the mouth, come out of the heart, and they are the things which defile a man:
19 యతోఽన్తఃకరణాత్ కుచిన్తా బధః పారదారికతా వేశ్యాగమనం చైర్య్యం మిథ్యాసాక్ష్యమ్ ఈశ్వరనిన్దా చైతాని సర్వ్వాణి నిర్య్యాన్తి|
for out of the heart proceed wicked reasonings, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies:
20 ఏతాని మనుష్యమపవిత్రీ కుర్వ్వన్తి కిన్త్వప్రక్షాలితకరేణ భోజనం మనుజమమేధ్యం న కరోతి|
these are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.
21 అనన్తరం యీశుస్తస్మాత్ స్థానాత్ ప్రస్థాయ సోరసీదోన్నగరయోః సీమాముపతస్యౌ|
And going forth thence, Jesus retired into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 తదా తత్సీమాతః కాచిత్ కినానీయా యోషిద్ ఆగత్య తముచ్చైరువాచ, హే ప్రభో దాయూదః సన్తాన, మమైకా దుహితాస్తే సా భూతగ్రస్తా సతీ మహాక్లేశం ప్రాప్నోతి మమ దయస్వ|
And lo! a woman of Canaan coming out of these coasts, cried aloud, saying to him, Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David: my daughter is a grievous demoniac.
23 కిన్తు యీశుస్తాం కిమపి నోక్తవాన్, తతః శిష్యా ఆగత్య తం నివేదయామాసుః, ఏషా యోషిద్ అస్మాకం పశ్చాద్ ఉచ్చైరాహూయాగచ్ఛతి, ఏనాం విసృజతు|
But he replied not a word to her. Then his disciples came and intreated him, saying, Send her away; for she is crying aloud after us.
24 తదా స ప్రత్యవదత్, ఇస్రాయేల్గోత్రస్య హారితమేషాన్ వినా కస్యాప్యన్యస్య సమీపం నాహం ప్రేషితోస్మి|
But he said in reply, I am not sent, save only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 తతః సా నారీసమాగత్య తం ప్రణమ్య జగాద, హే ప్రభో మాముపకురు|
Then she came, and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me!
26 స ఉక్తవాన్, బాలకానాం భక్ష్యమాదాయ సారమేయేభ్యో దానం నోచితం|
But he answering said, It is not proper to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.
27 తదా సా బభాషే, హే ప్రభో, తత్ సత్యం, తథాపి ప్రభో ర్భఞ్చాద్ యదుచ్ఛిష్టం పతతి, తత్ సారమేయాః ఖాదన్తి|
And she said, True, Lord: yet even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master’s table.
28 తతో యీశుః ప్రత్యవదత్, హే యోషిత్, తవ విశ్వాసో మహాన్ తస్మాత్ తవ మనోభిలషితం సిద్య్యతు, తేన తస్యాః కన్యా తస్మిన్నేవ దణ్డే నిరామయాభవత్|
Then Jesus answering said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith! be it unto thee even as thou desirest. And her daughter was cured from that hour.
29 అనన్తరం యీశస్తస్మాత్ స్థానాత్ ప్రస్థాయ గాలీల్సాగరస్య సన్నిధిమాగత్య ధరాధరమారుహ్య తత్రోపవివేశ|
And departing thence, Jesus went to the sea-side of Galilee; and ascending a mountain, he sat down there.
30 పశ్చాత్ జననివహో బహూన్ ఖఞ్చాన్ధమూకశుష్కకరమానుషాన్ ఆదాయ యీశోః సమీపమాగత్య తచ్చరణాన్తికే స్థాపయామాసుః, తతః సా తాన్ నిరామయాన్ అకరోత్|
And great multitudes came to him, bringing with them the lame, blind, dumb, cripples, and many others, and cast them down at the feet of Jesus; and he cured them all:
31 ఇత్థం మూకా వాక్యం వదన్తి, శుష్కకరాః స్వాస్థ్యమాయాన్తి, పఙ్గవో గచ్ఛన్తి, అన్ధా వీక్షన్తే, ఇతి విలోక్య లోకా విస్మయం మన్యమానా ఇస్రాయేల ఈశ్వరం ధన్యం బభాషిరే|
insomuch that the multitude marvelled when they saw the dumb speaking, the cripples sound, the lame walking, and the blind restored to sight: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 తదానీం యీశుః స్వశిష్యాన్ ఆహూయ గదితవాన్, ఏతజ్జననివహేషు మమ దయా జాయతే, ఏతే దినత్రయం మయా సాకం సన్తి, ఏషాం భక్ష్యవస్తు చ కఞ్చిదపి నాస్తి, తస్మాదహమేతానకృతాహారాన్ న విస్రక్ష్యామి, తథాత్వే వర్త్మమధ్యే క్లామ్యేషుః|
Then Jesus calling his disciples, said, I have compassion on the multitude, for they have now continued with me three days, and have not any thing to eat: and send them away fasting I will not, lest they faint on the road.
33 తదా శిష్యా ఊచుః, ఏతస్మిన్ ప్రాన్తరమధ్య ఏతావతో మర్త్యాన్ తర్పయితుం వయం కుత్ర పూపాన్ ప్రాప్స్యామః?
And his disciples said unto him, Whence can we in the wilderness have loaves enough to satisfy the cravings of so great a multitude?
34 యీశురపృచ్ఛత్, యుష్మాకం నికటే కతి పూపా ఆసతే? త ఊచుః, సప్తపూపా అల్పాః క్షుద్రమీనాశ్చ సన్తి|
And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few small fishes.
35 తదానీం స లోకనివహం భూమావుపవేష్టుమ్ ఆదిశ్య
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36 తాన్ సప్తపూపాన్ మీనాంశ్చ గృహ్లన్ ఈశ్వరీయగుణాన్ అనూద్య భంక్త్వా శిష్యేభ్యో దదౌ, శిష్యా లోకేభ్యో దదుః|
And taking the seven loaves and the fishes, he gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 తతః సర్వ్వే భుక్త్వా తృప్తవన్తః; తదవశిష్టభక్ష్యేణ సప్తడలకాన్ పరిపూర్య్య సంజగృహుః|
And they did all eat, and were filled: and took up a superabundance of fragments seven baskets full.
38 తే భోక్తారో యోషితో బాలకాంశ్చ విహాయ ప్రాయేణ చతుఃసహస్రాణి పురుషా ఆసన్|
And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39 తతః పరం స జననివహం విసృజ్య తరిమారుహ్య మగ్దలాప్రదేశం గతవాన్|
And dismissing the multitudes he went on board a vessel, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
