యోహనః 12
1 నిస్తారోత్సవాత్ పూర్వ్వం దినషట్కే స్థితే యీశు ర్యం ప్రమీతమ్ ఇలియాసరం శ్మశానాద్ ఉదస్థాపరత్ తస్య నివాసస్థానం బైథనియాగ్రామమ్ ఆగచ్ఛత్|
Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where was Lazarus, who had died, whom he raised out of the dead;
2 తత్ర తదర్థం రజన్యాం భోజ్యే కృతే మర్థా పర్య్యవేషయద్ ఇలియాసర్ చ తస్య సఙ్గిభిః సార్ద్ధం భోజనాసన ఉపావిశత్|
they made, therefore, to him a supper there, and Martha was ministering, and Lazarus was one of those reclining together (at meat) with him;
3 తదా మరియమ్ అర్ద్ధసేటకం బహుమూల్యం జటామాంసీయం తైలమ్ ఆనీయ యీశోశ్చరణయో ర్మర్ద్దయిత్వా నిజకేశ ర్మార్ష్టుమ్ ఆరభత; తదా తైలస్య పరిమలేన గృహమ్ ఆమోదితమ్ అభవత్|
Mary, therefore, having taken a pound of ointment of spikenard, of great price, anointed the feet of Jesus and did wipe with her hair his feet, and the house was filled from the fragrance of the ointment.
4 యః శిమోనః పుత్ర రిష్కరియోతీయో యిహూదానామా యీశుం పరకరేషు సమర్పయిష్యతి స శిష్యస్తదా కథితవాన్,
Therefore saith one of his disciples — Judas Iscariot, of Simon, who is about to deliver him up —
5 ఏతత్తైలం త్రిభిః శతై ర్ముద్రాపదై ర్విక్రీతం సద్ దరిద్రేభ్యః కుతో నాదీయత?
'Wherefore was not this ointment sold for three hundred denaries, and given to the poor?'
6 స దరిద్రలోకార్థమ్ అచిన్తయద్ ఇతి న, కిన్తు స చౌర ఏవం తన్నికటే ముద్రాసమ్పుటకస్థిత్యా తన్మధ్యే యదతిష్ఠత్ తదపాహరత్ తస్మాత్ కారణాద్ ఇమాం కథామకథయత్|
and he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and what things were put in he was carrying.
7 తదా యీశురకథయద్ ఏనాం మా వారయ సా మమ శ్మశానస్థాపనదినార్థం తదరక్షయత్|
Jesus, therefore, said, 'Suffer her; for the day of my embalming she hath kept it,
8 దరిద్రా యుష్మాకం సన్నిధౌ సర్వ్వదా తిష్ఠన్తి కిన్త్వహం సర్వ్వదా యుష్మాకం సన్నిధౌ న తిష్ఠామి|
for the poor ye have always with yourselves, and me ye have not always.'
9 తతః పరం యీశుస్తత్రాస్తీతి వార్త్తాం శ్రుత్వా బహవో యిహూదీయాస్తం శ్మశానాదుత్థాపితమ్ ఇలియాసరఞ్చ ద్రష్టుం తత్ స్థానమ్ ఆగచ్ఛన|
A great multitude, therefore, of the Jews knew that he is there, and they came, not because of Jesus only, but that Lazarus also they may see, whom he raised out of the dead;
10 తదా ప్రధానయాజకాస్తమ్ ఇలియాసరమపి సంహర్త్తుమ్ అమన్త్రయన్;
and the chief priests took counsel, that also Lazarus they may kill,
11 యతస్తేన బహవో యిహూదీయా గత్వా యీశౌ వ్యశ్వసన్|
because on account of him many of the Jews were going away, and were believing in Jesus.
12 అనన్తరం యీశు ర్యిరూశాలమ్ నగరమ్ ఆగచ్ఛతీతి వార్త్తాం శ్రుత్వా పరేఽహని ఉత్సవాగతా బహవో లోకాః
On the morrow, a great multitude that came to the feast, having heard that Jesus doth come to Jerusalem,
13 ఖర్జ్జూరపత్రాద్యానీయ తం సాక్షాత్ కర్త్తుం బహిరాగత్య జయ జయేతి వాచం ప్రోచ్చై ర్వక్తుమ్ ఆరభన్త, ఇస్రాయేలో యో రాజా పరమేశ్వరస్య నామ్నాగచ్ఛతి స ధన్యః|
took the branches of the palms, and went forth to meet him, and were crying, 'Hosanna, blessed [is] he who is coming in the name of the Lord — the king of Israel;'
14 తదా "హే సియోనః కన్యే మా భైషీః పశ్యాయం తవ రాజా గర్ద్దభశావకమ్ ఆరుహ్యాగచ్ఛతి"
and Jesus having found a young ass did sit upon it, according as it is written,
15 ఇతి శాస్త్రీయవచనానుసారేణ యీశురేకం యువగర్ద్దభం ప్రాప్య తదుపర్య్యారోహత్|
'Fear not, daughter of Sion, lo, thy king doth come, sitting on an ass' colt.'
16 అస్యాః ఘటనాయాస్తాత్పర్య్యం శిష్యాః ప్రథమం నాబుధ్యన్త, కిన్తు యీశౌ మహిమానం ప్రాప్తే సతి వాక్యమిదం తస్మిన అకథ్యత లోకాశ్చ తమ్ప్రతీత్థమ్ అకుర్వ్వన్ ఇతి తే స్మృతవన్తః|
And these things his disciples did not know at the first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were having been written about him, and these things they did to him.
17 స ఇలియాసరం శ్మశానాద్ ఆగన్తుమ్ ఆహ్వతవాన్ శ్మశానాఞ్చ ఉదస్థాపయద్ యే యే లోకాస్తత్కర్మ్య సాక్షాద్ అపశ్యన్ తే ప్రమాణం దాతుమ్ ఆరభన్త|
The multitude, therefore, who are with him, were testifying that he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and did raise him out of the dead;
18 స ఏతాదృశమ్ అద్భుతం కర్మ్మకరోత్ తస్య జనశ్రుతే ర్లోకాస్తం సాక్షాత్ కర్త్తుమ్ ఆగచ్ఛన్|
because of this also did the multitude meet him, because they heard of his having done this sign,
19 తతః ఫిరూశినః పరస్పరం వక్తుమ్ ఆరభన్త యుష్మాకం సర్వ్వాశ్చేష్టా వృథా జాతాః, ఇతి కిం యూయం న బుధ్యధ్వే? పశ్యత సర్వ్వే లోకాస్తస్య పశ్చాద్వర్త్తినోభవన్|
the Pharisees, therefore, said among themselves, 'Ye see that ye do not gain anything, lo, the world did go after him.'
20 భజనం కర్త్తుమ్ ఉత్సవాగతానాం లోకానాం కతిపయా జనా అన్యదేశీయా ఆసన్,
And there were certain Greeks out of those coming up that they may worship in the feast,
21 తే గాలీలీయబైత్సైదానివాసినః ఫిలిపస్య సమీపమ్ ఆగత్య వ్యాహరన్ హే మహేచ్ఛ వయం యీశుం ద్రష్టుమ్ ఇచ్ఛామః|
these then came near to Philip, who [is] from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were asking him, saying, 'Sir, we wish to see Jesus;'
22 తతః ఫిలిపో గత్వా ఆన్ద్రియమ్ అవదత్ పశ్చాద్ ఆన్ద్రియఫిలిపౌ యీశవే వార్త్తామ్ అకథయతాం|
Philip cometh and telleth Andrew, and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23 తదా యీశుః ప్రత్యుదితవాన్ మానవసుతస్య మహిమప్రాప్తిసమయ ఉపస్థితః|
And Jesus responded to them, saying, 'The hour hath come that the Son of Man may be glorified;
24 అహం యుష్మానతియథార్థం వదామి, ధాన్యబీజం మృత్తికాయాం పతిత్వా యది న మృయతే తర్హ్యేకాకీ తిష్ఠతి కిన్తు యది మృయతే తర్హి బహుగుణం ఫలం ఫలతి|
verily, verily, I say to you, if the grain of the wheat, having fallen to the earth, may not die, itself remaineth alone; and if it may die, it doth bear much fruit;
25 యో జనే నిజప్రాణాన్ ప్రియాన్ జానాతి స తాన్ హారయిష్యతి కిన్తు యే జన ఇహలోకే నిజప్రాణాన్ అప్రియాన్ జానాతి సేనన్తాయుః ప్రాప్తుం తాన్ రక్షిష్యతి| (aiōnios g166)
he who is loving his life shall lose it, and he who is hating his life in this world — to life age-during shall keep it; (aiōnios g166)
26 కశ్చిద్ యది మమ సేవకో భవితుం వాఞ్ఛతి తర్హి స మమ పశ్చాద్గామీ భవతు, తస్మాద్ అహం యత్ర తిష్ఠామి మమ సేవకేపి తత్ర స్థాస్యతి; యో జనో మాం సేవతే మమ పితాపి తం సమ్మంస్యతే|
if any one may minister to me, let him follow me, and where I am, there also my ministrant shall be; and if any one may minister to me — honour him will the Father.
27 సామ్ప్రతం మమ ప్రాణా వ్యాకులా భవన్తి, తస్మాద్ హే పితర ఏతస్మాత్ సమయాన్ మాం రక్ష, ఇత్యహం కిం ప్రార్థయిష్యే? కిన్త్వహమ్ ఏతత్సమయార్థమ్ అవతీర్ణవాన్|
'Now hath my soul been troubled, and what? shall I say — Father, save me from this hour? — but because of this I came to this hour;
28 హే పిత: స్వనామ్నో మహిమానం ప్రకాశయ; తనైవ స్వనామ్నో మహిమానమ్ అహం ప్రాకాశయం పునరపి ప్రకాశయిష్యామి, ఏషా గగణీయా వాణీ తస్మిన్ సమయేఽజాయత|
Father, glorify Thy name.' There came, therefore, a voice out of the heaven, 'I both glorified, and again I will glorify [it];'
29 తచ్శ్రుత్వా సమీపస్థలోకానాం కేచిద్ అవదన్ మేఘోఽగర్జీత్, కేచిద్ అవదన్ స్వర్గీయదూతోఽనేన సహ కథామచకథత్|
the multitude, therefore, having stood and heard, were saying that there hath been thunder; others said, 'A messenger hath spoken to him.'
30 తదా యీశుః ప్రత్యవాదీత్, మదర్థం శబ్దోయం నాభూత్ యుష్మదర్థమేవాభూత్|
Jesus answered and said, 'Not because of me hath this voice come, but because of you;
31 అధునా జగతోస్య విచార: సమ్పత్స్యతే, అధునాస్య జగత: పతీ రాజ్యాత్ చ్యోష్యతి|
now is a judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast forth;
32 యద్యఈ పృథివ్యా ఊర్ద్వ్వే ప్రోత్థాపితోస్మి తర్హి సర్వ్వాన్ మానవాన్ స్వసమీపమ్ ఆకర్షిష్యామి|
and I, if I may be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.'
33 కథం తస్య మృతి ర్భవిష్యతి, ఏతద్ బోధయితుం స ఇమాం కథామ్ అకథయత్|
And this he said signifying by what death he was about to die;
34 తదా లోకా అకథయన్ సోభిషిక్తః సర్వ్వదా తిష్ఠతీతి వ్యవస్థాగ్రన్థే శ్రుతమ్ అస్మాభిః, తర్హి మనుష్యపుత్రః ప్రోత్థాపితో భవిష్యతీతి వాక్యం కథం వదసి? మనుష్యపుత్రోయం కః? (aiōn g165)
the multitude answered him, 'We heard out of the law that the Christ doth remain — to the age; and how dost thou say, That it behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up? who is this — the Son of Man?' (aiōn g165)
35 తదా యీశురకథాయద్ యుష్మాభిః సార్ద్ధమ్ అల్పదినాని జ్యోతిరాస్తే, యథా యుష్మాన్ అన్ధకారో నాచ్ఛాదయతి తదర్థం యావత్కాలం యుష్మాభిః సార్ద్ధం జ్యోతిస్తిష్ఠతి తావత్కాలం గచ్ఛత; యో జనోఽన్ధకారే గచ్ఛతి స కుత్ర యాతీతి న జానాతి|
Jesus, therefore, said to them, 'Yet a little time is the light with you; walk while ye have the light, that darkness may not overtake you; and he who is walking in the darkness hath not known where he goeth;
36 అతఏవ యావత్కాలం యుష్మాకం నికటే జ్యోతిరాస్తే తావత్కాలం జ్యోతీరూపసన్తానా భవితుం జ్యోతిషి విశ్వసిత; ఇమాం కథాం కథయిత్వా యీశుః ప్రస్థాయ తేభ్యః స్వం గుప్తవాన్|
while ye have the light, believe in the light, that sons of light ye may become.' These things spake Jesus, and having gone away, he was hid from them,
37 యద్యపి యీశుస్తేషాం సమక్షమ్ ఏతావదాశ్చర్య్యకర్మ్మాణి కృతవాన్ తథాపి తే తస్మిన్ న వ్యశ్వసన్|
yet he having done so many signs before them, they were not believing in him,
38 అతఏవ కః ప్రత్యేతి సుసంవాదం పరేశాస్మత్ ప్రచారితం? ప్రకాశతే పరేశస్య హస్తః కస్య చ సన్నిధౌ? యిశయియభవిష్యద్వాదినా యదేతద్ వాక్యముక్తం తత్ సఫలమ్ అభవత్|
that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, 'Lord, who gave credence to our report? and the arm of the Lord — to whom was it revealed?'
39 తే ప్రత్యేతుం నాశన్కువన్ తస్మిన్ యిశయియభవిష్యద్వాది పునరవాదీద్,
Because of this they were not able to believe, that again Isaiah said,
40 యదా, "తే నయనై ర్న పశ్యన్తి బుద్ధిభిశ్చ న బుధ్యన్తే తై ర్మనఃసు పరివర్త్తితేషు చ తానహం యథా స్వస్థాన్ న కరోమి తథా స తేషాం లోచనాన్యన్ధాని కృత్వా తేషామన్తఃకరణాని గాఢాని కరిష్యతి| "
'He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with the eyes, and understand with the heart, and turn back, and I might heal them;'
41 యిశయియో యదా యీశో ర్మహిమానం విలోక్య తస్మిన్ కథామకథయత్ తదా భవిష్యద్వాక్యమ్ ఈదృశం ప్రకాశయత్|
these things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 తథాప్యధిపతినాం బహవస్తస్మిన్ ప్రత్యాయన్| కిన్తు ఫిరూశినస్తాన్ భజనగృహాద్ దూరీకుర్వ్వన్తీతి భయాత్ తే తం న స్వీకృతవన్తః|
Still, however, also out of the rulers did many believe in him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing, that they might not be put out of the synagogue,
43 యత ఈశ్వరస్య ప్రశంసాతో మానవానాం ప్రశంసాయాం తేఽప్రియన్త|
for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.
44 తదా యీశురుచ్చైఃకారమ్ అకథయద్ యో జనో మయి విశ్వసితి స కేవలే మయి విశ్వసితీతి న, స మత్ప్రేరకేఽపి విశ్వసితి|
And Jesus cried and said, 'He who is believing in me, doth not believe in me, but in Him who sent me;
45 యో జనో మాం పశ్యతి స మత్ప్రేరకమపి పశ్యతి|
and he who is beholding me, doth behold Him who sent me;
46 యో జనో మాం ప్రత్యేతి స యథాన్ధకారే న తిష్ఠతి తదర్థమ్ అహం జ్యోతిఃస్వరూపో భూత్వా జగత్యస్మిన్ అవతీర్ణవాన్|
I a light to the world have come, that every one who is believing in me — in the darkness may not remain;
47 మమ కథాం శ్రుత్వా యది కశ్చిన్ న విశ్వసితి తర్హి తమహం దోషిణం న కరోమి, యతో హేతో ర్జగతో జనానాం దోషాన్ నిశ్చితాన్ కర్త్తుం నాగత్య తాన్ పరిచాతుమ్ ఆగతోస్మి|
and if any one may hear my sayings, and not believe, I — I do not judge him, for I came not that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world.
48 యః కశ్చిన్ మాం న శ్రద్ధాయ మమ కథం న గృహ్లాతి, అన్యస్తం దోషిణం కరిష్యతి వస్తుతస్తు యాం కథామహమ్ అచకథం సా కథా చరమేఽన్హి తం దోషిణం కరిష్యతి|
'He who is rejecting me, and not receiving my sayings, hath one who is judging him, the word that I spake, that will judge him in the last day,
49 యతో హేతోరహం స్వతః కిమపి న కథయామి, కిం కిం మయా కథయితవ్యం కిం సముపదేష్టవ్యఞ్చ ఇతి మత్ప్రేరయితా పితా మామాజ్ఞాపయత్|
because I spake not from myself, but the Father who sent me, He did give me a command, what I may say, and what I may speak,
