1 తీమథియః 2
1 మమ ప్రథమ ఆదేశోఽయం, ప్రార్థనావినయనివేదనధన్యవాదాః కర్త్తవ్యాః,
I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men;
2 సర్వ్వేషాం మానవానాం కృతే విశేషతో వయం యత్ శాన్తత్వేన నిర్వ్విరోధత్వేన చేశ్చరభక్తిం వినీతత్వఞ్చాచరన్తః కాలం యాపయామస్తదర్థం నృపతీనామ్ ఉచ్చపదస్థానాఞ్చ కృతే తే కర్త్తవ్యాః|
for kings, and all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and propriety.
3 యతోఽస్మాకం తారకస్యేశ్వరస్య సాక్షాత్ తదేవోత్తమం గ్రాహ్యఞ్చ భవతి,
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 స సర్వ్వేషాం మానవానాం పరిత్రాణం సత్యజ్ఞానప్రాప్తిఞ్చేచ్ఛతి|
whose will is that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 యత ఏకోఽద్వితీయ ఈశ్వరో విద్యతే కిఞ్చేశ్వరే మానవేషు చైకో ఽద్వితీయో మధ్యస్థః
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 స నరావతారః ఖ్రీష్టో యీశు ర్విద్యతే యః సర్వ్వేషాం ముక్తే ర్మూల్యమ్ ఆత్మదానం కృతవాన్| ఏతేన యేన ప్రమాణేనోపయుక్తే సమయే ప్రకాశితవ్యం,
who gave himself a ransom for all; to which the testimony was to be borne in its own due times,
7 తద్ఘోషయితా దూతో విశ్వాసే సత్యధర్మ్మే చ భిన్నజాతీయానామ్ ఉపదేశకశ్చాహం న్యయూజ్యే, ఏతదహం ఖ్రీష్టస్య నామ్నా యథాతథ్యం వదామి నానృతం కథయామి|
whereunto I was appointed a herald and an apostle, (I speak the truth, I lie not, ) a teacher of the gentiles in faith and truth.
8 అతో మమాభిమతమిదం పురుషైః క్రోధసన్దేహౌ వినా పవిత్రకరాన్ ఉత్తోల్య సర్వ్వస్మిన్ స్థానే ప్రార్థనా క్రియతాం|
I desire, then, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9 తద్వత్ నార్య్యోఽపి సలజ్జాః సంయతమనసశ్చ సత్యో యోగ్యమాచ్ఛాదనం పరిదధతు కిఞ్చ కేశసంస్కారైః కణకముక్తాభి ర్మహార్ఘ్యపరిచ్ఛదైశ్చాత్మభూషణం న కుర్వ్వత్యః
In like manner also, that women, in seemly attire, adorn themselves with modesty and sobriety, not with braided hair, and gold, or pearls, or costly apparel;
10 స్వీకృతేశ్వరభక్తీనాం యోషితాం యోగ్యైః సత్యర్మ్మభిః స్వభూషణం కుర్వ్వతాం|
but, as becometh women professing godliness, with good works.
11 నారీ సమ్పూర్ణవినీతత్వేన నిర్విరోధం శిక్షతాం|
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 నార్య్యాః శిక్షాదానం పురుషాయాజ్ఞాదానం వాహం నానుజానామి తయా నిర్వ్విరోధత్వమ్ ఆచరితవ్యం|
But I suffer not the woman to teach, nor to have authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 యతః ప్రథమమ్ ఆదమస్తతః పరం హవాయాః సృష్టి ర్బభూవ|
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 కిఞ్చాదమ్ భ్రాన్తియుక్తో నాభవత్ యోషిదేవ భ్రాన్తియుక్తా భూత్వాత్యాచారిణీ బభూవ|
And Adam was not deceived; but the woman being deceived fell into transgression.
15 తథాపి నారీగణో యది విశ్వాసే ప్రేమ్ని పవిత్రతాయాం సంయతమనసి చ తిష్ఠతి తర్హ్యపత్యప్రసవవర్త్మనా పరిత్రాణం ప్రాప్స్యతి|
But she will be saved through child-bearing, if they continue in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
