ரோமிண​: 10

1 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர இஸ்ராயேலீயலோகா யத் பரித்ராணம்’ ப்ராப்நுவந்தி தத³ஹம்’ மநஸாபி⁴லஷந் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமீபே ப்ரார்த²யே|

My Brethren, The desire of my heart, and my intercession with God for them, is, that they might have life.

2 யத ஈஸ்²வரே தேஷாம்’ சேஷ்டா வித்³யத இத்யத்ராஹம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யஸ்மி; கிந்து தேஷாம்’ ஸா சேஷ்டா ஸஜ்ஞாநா நஹி,

For I bear them witness, that there is in them a zeal for God; but it is not according to knowledge.

3 யதஸ்த ஈஸ்²வரத³த்தம்’ புண்யம் அவிஜ்ஞாய ஸ்வக்ரு’தபுண்யம்’ ஸ்தா²பயிதும் சேஷ்டமாநா ஈஸ்²வரத³த்தஸ்ய புண்யஸ்ய நிக்⁴நத்வம்’ ந ஸ்வீகுர்வ்வந்தி|

For they know not the righteousness of God, but seek to establish their own righteousness: and therefore they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

4 க்²ரீஷ்ட ஏகைகவிஸ்²வாஸிஜநாய புண்யம்’ தா³தும்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²யா​: ப²லஸ்வரூபோ ப⁴வதி|

For Messiah is the aim of the law, for righteousness, unto every one that believeth in him.

5 வ்யவஸ்தா²பாலநேந யத் புண்யம்’ தத் மூஸா வர்ணயாமாஸ, யதா², யோ ஜநஸ்தாம்’ பாலயிஷ்யதி ஸ தத்³த்³வாரா ஜீவிஷ்யதி|

For Moses describeth the righteousness, which is by the law, thus: Whoever shall do these things, shall live by them.

6 கிந்து ப்ரத்யயேந யத் புண்யம்’ தத்³ ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ வாக்யம்’ வத³தி, க​: ஸ்வர்க³ம் ஆருஹ்ய க்²ரீஷ்டம் அவரோஹயிஷ்யதி?

But the righteousness which is by faith, saith thus: Thou shalt not say in thy heart, Who ascendeth to heaven, and bringeth Messiah down?

7 கோ வா ப்ரேதலோகம் அவருஹ்ய க்²ரீஷ்டம்’ ம்ரு’தக³ணமத்⁴யாத்³ ஆநேஷ்யதீதி வாக் மநஸி த்வயா ந க³தி³தவ்யா| (Abyssos g12)

Or, Who descendeth to the abyss of the grave, and bringeth up Messiah from the place of the dead? (Abyssos g12)

8 தர்ஹி கிம்’ ப்³ரவீதி? தத்³ வாக்யம்’ தவ ஸமீபஸ்த²ம் அர்தா²த் தவ வத³நே மநஸி சாஸ்தே, தச்ச வாக்யம் அஸ்மாபி⁴​: ப்ரசார்ய்யமாணம்’ விஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய வாக்யமேவ|

But what saith it? The thing is near to thy mouth, and to thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we proclaim.

9 வஸ்துத​: ப்ரபு⁴ம்’ யீஸு²ம்’ யதி³ வத³நேந ஸ்வீகரோஷி, ததே²ஸ்²வரஸ்தம்’ ஸ்²மஸா²நாத்³ உத³ஸ்தா²பயத்³ இதி யத்³யந்த​: கரணேந விஸ்²வஸிஷி தர்ஹி பரித்ராணம்’ லப்ஸ்யஸே|

And if thou shalt confess with thy mouth our Lord Jesus, and shalt believe with thy heart, that God hath raised him from the dead; thou shalt live.

10 யஸ்மாத் புண்யப்ராப்த்யர்த²ம் அந்த​: கரணேந விஸ்²வஸிதவ்யம்’ பரித்ராணார்த²ஞ்ச வத³நேந ஸ்வீகர்த்தவ்யம்’|

For the heart that believeth in him, is justified; and the mouth that confesseth him, is restored to life.

11 ஸா²ஸ்த்ரே யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ லிக²தி விஸ்²வஸிஷ்யதி யஸ்தத்ர ஸ ஜநோ ந த்ரபிஷ்யதே|

For the scripture saith: Every one that believeth in him, shall not be ashamed.

12 இத்யத்ர யிஹூதி³நி தத³ந்யலோகே ச கோபி விஸே²ஷோ நாஸ்தி யஸ்மாத்³ ய​: ஸர்வ்வேஷாம் அத்³விதீய​: ப்ரபு⁴​: ஸ நிஜயாசகாந ஸர்வ்வாந் ப்ரதி வதா³ந்யோ ப⁴வதி|

And in this, it discriminateth neither Jews nor Gentiles. For there is one Lord over them all, who is rich, towards every one that calleth on him.

13 யத​: , ய​: கஸ்²சித் பரமேஸ²ஸ்ய நாம்நா ஹி ப்ரார்த²யிஷ்யதே| ஸ ஏவ மநுஜோ நூநம்’ பரித்ராதோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|

For every one that shall call on the name of the Lord, will have life.

14 யம்’ யே ஜநா ந ப்ரத்யாயந் தே தமுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய கத²ம்’ ப்ரார்த²யிஷ்யந்தே? யே வா யஸ்யாக்²யாநம்’ கதா³பி ந ஸ்²ருதவந்தஸ்தே தம்’ கத²ம்’ ப்ரத்யேஷ்யந்தி? அபரம்’ யதி³ ப்ரசாரயிதாரோ ந திஷ்ட²ந்தி ததா³ கத²ம்’ தே ஸ்²ரோஷ்யந்தி?

How then shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? Or, how shall they believe in him, of whom they have not heard? Or, how shall they hear, without a preacher?

15 யதி³ வா ப்ரேரிதா ந ப⁴வந்தி ததா³ கத²ம்’ ப்ரசாரயிஷ்யந்தி? யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ லிகி²தம் ஆஸ்தே, யதா², மாங்க³லிகம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ த³த³த்யாநீய யே நரா​: | ப்ரசாரயந்தி ஸா²ந்தேஸ்²ச ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ஜநாஸ்து யே| தேஷாம்’ சரணபத்³மாநி கீத்³ரு’க் ஸோ²பா⁴ந்விதாநி ஹி|

Or, how shall they preach, if they are not sent forth? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of the heralds of peace, and of the heralds of good things?

16 கிந்து தே ஸர்வ்வே தம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹீதவந்த​: | யிஸா²யியோ யதா² லிகி²தவாந்| அஸ்மத்ப்ரசாரிதே வாக்யே விஸ்²வாஸமகரோத்³தி⁴ க​: |

But all of them have not obeyed the proclamation of the gospel. (For, Isaiah said: My Lord, who hath believed our proclamation?)

17 அதஏவ ஸ்²ரவணாத்³ விஸ்²வாஸ ஐஸ்²வரவாக்யப்ரசாராத் ஸ்²ரவணஞ்ச ப⁴வதி|

Therefore, faith is from the hearing of the ear; and the hearing of the ear, is from the word of God.

18 தர்ஹ்யஹம்’ ப்³ரவீமி தை​: கிம்’ நாஸ்²ராவி? அவஸ்²யம் அஸ்²ராவி, யஸ்மாத் தேஷாம்’ ஸ²ப்³தோ³ மஹீம்’ வ்யாப்நோத்³ வாக்யஞ்ச நிகி²லம்’ ஜக³த்|

But I say: Have they not heard? And, lo, their proclamation hath gone out into all the earth; and their words to the ends of the world.

19 அபரமபி வதா³மி, இஸ்ராயேலீயலோகா​: கிம் ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ந பு³த்⁴யந்தே? ப்ரத²மதோ மூஸா இத³ம்’ வாக்யம்’ ப்ரோவாச, அஹமுத்தாபயிஷ்யே தாந் அக³ண்யமாநவைரபி| க்லேக்ஷ்யாமி ஜாதிம் ஏதாஞ்ச ப்ரோந்மத்தபி⁴ந்நஜாதிபி⁴​: |

But I say: Did not Israel know? First, Moses said, thus: I will awaken your emulation, by a people which is not a people; and by a disobedient people, I will provoke you.

20 அபரஞ்ச யிஸா²யியோ(அ)திஸ²யாக்ஷோபே⁴ண கத²யாமாஸ, யதா², அதி⁴ மாம்’ யைஸ்து நாசேஷ்டி ஸம்ப்ராப்தஸ்தை ர்ஜநைரஹம்’| அதி⁴ மாம்’ யை ர்ந ஸம்ப்ரு’ஷ்டம்’ விஜ்ஞாதஸ்தை ர்ஜநைரஹம்’||

And Isaiah was bold, and said: I was seen by those who sought me not; and I was found by those who inquired not for me.

21 கிந்த்விஸ்ராயேலீயலோகாந் அதி⁴ கத²யாஞ்சகார, யைராஜ்ஞாலங்கி⁴பி⁴ ர்லோகை ர்விருத்³த⁴ம்’ வாக்யமுச்யதே| தாந் ப்ரத்யேவ தி³நம்’ க்ரு’த்ஸ்நம்’ ஹஸ்தௌ விஸ்தாரயாம்யஹம்’||

But to Israel, he said: All the day, have I stretched out my hands to a contentious and disobedient people.
